Description
A slimly built human stands here covered in thick flowing robes. He has
piercing green eyes that seem ablaze from the darkness of his hood. He
leans feebly on a worn walking staff, almost giving him a resigned, tired
look. Several magical trinkets are tied tightly to his belt most of which
have some sort of ancient glyphs etched into them. You get the feeling by
looking at this enfeebled man that he may be a little more spry than his
physical appearance lets on.

He grew up weaker and smaller than everyone else. He was picked on as
the weakest child in a village of warrior families. He grew distant
from everyone else and did not participate in the activities everyone
else did. One day wandering off alone he found a ripped page, he
noticed the odd language on it and started reading it immediately.
He went to visit the only wizard around - who was amazed that he
could read the simple spell that must have fell out of his book.
The old man decided to train Rettis in the ways of magic, simple
instructions and basic incantations. After he grew of age, Rettis
had learned everything he could from the old man and decided to
leave to learn whatever other mysteries the world held. He took
pride in his abilities with the arcane. He would show the world how
amazing they were.

Years have passed for Rettis as he has spent his time learning many secrets of the world.
He has finally been given a chance to join the Fold - his desire to continue his own
personal experiments has grown. He has experimented on about every race of Thera and
has grasped the chance to continue these tests upon the shadowed creatures that he
allows entry to Thera. A delicate balance is made here - he has long sought to create
a being that is more powerful than any other through his magical talents by morphing and
twisting what already is. Thus far, all but a few of his tests have left his subjects for
dead or incapacitated in some way. Such is the eternal quest - he will keep at it and
learn whatever he can from the sharp minds of those who have been welcomed to the Fold.
He has great pride in his magical abilities and firmly believes that faith is in no way
a substitute for talent.
