Description
The young avian woman before you masks her femininity within a tight crimson
leather full body leather suit that covers her from neck to tarsus. Her
tapered legs culminate in orange-brown claws with short, sharp black talons.
Her face is veiled in indifference. Her dark orange beak is stoically set
upon her face. Two breathing holes menacingly intrude their darkness upon her
beak. Her piercing yellow eyes with coal pupils dart around her surroundings.
She is taller than most human men, made even taller by her dulled orange
plumage cascading down the back of her head. Her majestic wings protrude from
her leather, the carpus's framing her head. She wears an assortment of
weapons on a double wrapped brown leather belt above her hip. She carries an
assortment of daggers, strapped to her ankles and wrists along with a few
other weapons hanging from her belt. Across her chest is a black baldric that
hangs a sword in it's scabbard at her hip.

Poised over the sleeping arial girl, Sheftly held his bloodied knife to
Garton's throat as he argued his point.
"Look, I took care of the sentries and got you up here to the city. I
murdered the two birds in their sleep, but I do draw the line somewhere. I'm
not taking or killing no kid." Sheftly said, exasperated.
Garton began speaking to diffuse the situation, stalling Sheftly as he spoke.
Finally, he said, "If you don't want to do the job, you don't have to."
Sheftly's eyes suddenly went wide with shock as he was pulled away from
Garton, a knife to his own throat. As Sheftly's mouth began to form the words
to say "What," Garton interrupted, "Insurance," as Brezden, the insurance
slit Sheftly's throat.
"Brezden, tie up the girl, make sure she doesn't make any noise," ordered
Garton. When the deed was done, the two black clad men disappeared into the
night.
Training
Added Tue Jan 12 23:41:50 2010 at level 11:
Rikxa stood on the blood line, shoulder to shoulder with all of the other
stolen girls. She had been taken when she was ten, more or less the same age
as all of the other girls. They were in a secluded camp far enough away from
the borders of Seatryn Modan that they would never be discovered by any
wandering Tribunals. The blood line was as the name mentions, a line made of
blood. The blood was from the first 'example'-- A girl who refused to do as
she was ordered. She was gutted and as she was dying, she was dragged across
the ground, her spilled blood forming a line. From then on, the girls were to
line up on the blood line when ever the guards called for the blood line. The
guards used the blood line for anything they seemed appropriate:
accountability, extra torture, you name it. Sometimes, the girls would just
be called to the blood line and have to stand there for hours. Other times,
they were singled out and beaten as soon as they got to the line.
The girls had no idea why they were there. The were all from a variety of
backgrounds and races. Some where rich, some destitute. None were better off
before they arrived at the camp. The one thing that all these girls had in
common was that they were all born under the sphere Protection. These girls
were to be trained to be the most loyal and fierce bodyguards in the world.
They would be underestimated because they were women. They could be used as
assassins, to foil an enemy before they got too close. They could integrate
themselves with an army in the guise of prostitutes in an army's camp where
they could get close to their target and strike. They could feign the part of
a damsel in distress, any number of things to lure their target out.
The girls were labor for the camp, working almost all but 8 hours a day. When
there was work to be done, the girls were put to it. When there was no work
to be done, they had menial tasks to do, such as moving a large pile of rocks
from one end of the camp to the other. These girls, through this rigorous
training were to be as strong and as durable as any man. As women, they would
have higher tolerances for pain than men. Rikxa endured and persevered as did
all of the other girls that survived.
Breaking
Added Fri Jan 15 23:20:50 2010 at level 15:
The wrinkly old sorceress weaved her hands through the air as she chanted, as
the power charged through her body, she finally released it into her
construct. The construct bubbled and pulsated, changing appearance, until
finally it settled into the form of an arial. A greasy henchman, tossed some
clothes towards the construct-arial.
When the construct-arial was dressed, it was roughly pulled to the pit where
Rikxa waited. The construct-arial was shoved before her, recognition dawing
in the girl's eyes. "Rikxa, your father is the one that sold you to us. He is
reason for your years of pain. He --." Before he could finish, Rikxa plucked
his blade from his belt and plunged it into her 'father's' eye socket. She
would have reversed it and and tried to fight her way out of this hell, had
she been more experienced in fighting. Despite her quickness, her captor had
wrenched the knife from her hand.
The same scenario was presented to each girl. Most of the girls killed their
'fathers'. Those that didn't were subsequently executed. They were developing
heartless killers, any girl that could kill their father, could kill anyone.
Those that couldn't by this time, were not worth trying to continue to break.
Freedom.

Though the camp was far enough away from Seatryn Modan to avoid detection by
the Tribunals, there were others that took note of the camp. The jade elf
community were often shocked at the screams that emitted from the camp.
The council convened and gathered a company of their best warriors to attack
and eviscerate the camp. They studied the camp, noted every guard movement,
every call to the blood line for the girls.
During the changing of the guards, the girls were always put on the blood
line. The company of elven warriors attacked at this opportune time. During
the battle, most of the girls stayed right on the blood line. Some, joined in
the defense of the guards. Rikxa joined in the slaughter of the guards.
The elves took the Rikxa and the other girls that had been so abused at the
camp to their village. They were integrated into their society, given foster
families that took them in and treated them just as one of their own.
Rikxa was taken to a wonderful family. This new family, although Rikxa was
never fully trusting, was probably the reason why Rikxa regained some of her
humanity. She is still cold, emotionally awkward.. at some times emotionally
empty, but she embraced most of the elve's teachings about nature and the
ancients. Her two natures melded together: the cold, detached killer and the
nature lover. She never quite fit in with her elven family and as soon as she
came of age, she left for the academy. Her 'family' told her stories of the
Outlanders. She has sought them out, hoping she will at last find a place to
belong.
Outlanders : Nebogda
Added Fri Feb 5 07:50:31 2010 at level 32:
Jenella inducted me into the tree. So far, I do feel a comraderie here. Even
with those of the other branches. Nebogda was a presence in my life for a
while. He seems much too nice and jovial for one of the Reavers. I fear to
allow myself too close to him. I know my elders taught me not to trust the
Reavers and that is a constant presence in my mind. I am very torn on what to
think of this one. On the one hand, he has been nice to me. When he learned
that I had pledged to the refuge and he already perched a branch, he would
offer me some of the bounty of his harvest. On the other hand, at that time I
was of use to him and could group with him.
After he advanced farther than would allow him to group with me, he needed me
once more, to keep a healer at bay so he could strike a conjurer. He did not
seem to care for my safety because he sent me into a hornet's nest with three
enemies and did not even offer to quicken my reflexes. That jaded me towards
him, but then he brought me a knife for no reason.
I think he himself struggles with his nature and his knowledge. My heart
wishes to believe the best in Nebogda, but my head knows that could get me
killed. I must be smart around him.
Lesson
Added Sun Mar 7 00:39:51 2010 at level 51:
This is a copy of a note I sent to outlander. The lesson is adopted from an
excerpt of Terry Goodkind's Sword Of Truth Series.
I have been having trouble with the spiring, Ewonelyia. She hunts me
mercilessly over land, sea and air. She has been always fought hard, backed
me up against the corner, forcing my retreat.
I had used all of my means of magical travel. I decided to make a stand and
stand I did. Out in the open where I could easily be found. She swooped down
and then I cut. I cut with all my heart and soul, I cut with all I had. It
was all I had left, it was everything and I finally forced her to retreat.
My lesson is the following:
Attack. Once you are committed to the fight, Attack. Everything else is
secondary. Cut, slice, thrust, kill. Attack. That is your duty, your purpose,
your hunger. There is no rule more important, no commitment that overrides
this one. You must not hesitate, hesitation is death. Attack.
