Description
Standing less than the average gnome, with light brown skin the color dried
dirt, and ragged clothes of varying shades of green and brown, Rindleblin
does not garner immediate notice. His hair, slightly darker than his skin
hangs slightly below his shoulders in the back and sweeps back and forth
across his eyes in front. His right eye sometimes seems to move indepently
of his left at times. His gnose is big even for a gnome. His ears seem
to fight to free themselves from Rindleblin's hair.
Role
Decisions

Rindleblin recognized with time, men would destroy all balance, and eventually the world. Tar
Valon, Conquests of Udgaard, the harvesting of the dwarven mountains and Feanwyn Weald, the
renewing of the Empire, all these things pointed to the tragedy which would eventually come to
Thera. If there were those who would choose to perpetuate this, then there must be those who
would choose to fight them. Rindleblin decided he would be one of these.
Balance in Nature

Also in his journey's Rindleblin encountered much of Thera's wilds. Here was chaos, but
but harmnony and beauty as well. Nothing could be predicted the fall of a tree, the
the destruction of a storm, the blooming of flowers, the birth of a deer, prey falling to
predator, a volcanoe destroying all around it, but eventually building a mountain. There
was violence and death, but also renewal and life. There was suffering and misery, but also,
ecstasy and joy, and withouth the interference of men, these cycles seemed able to perpetuate
themselves into infinity.
Doubts
Added Thu Mar 18 06:00:47 2004 at level 14:
Rindleblin fretted about what he should do. He had known no other home but Hillcrest,
But opinions among his people were to varied for him to ever push them to act against
the Urban sprawl he saw threatening Thera. He could see the place of villages that
existed in harmony with their surroundings still allowing for freedom, but with the
growth of the realm those where rapidly disappearing, along with any concern for harmony.
Travels

As Rindleblin grew, he sought more travel throughout the realm to see its wilds and
towns. He would accompany trading expeditions to Udgaard, Akan, what had been Tar
Valon, sometimes even as far as Galadon and Hamsah Mut'aaz. He was excited to see
These places, but what he saw also caused concered. Much grander than Hillcrest,
they also did not strike or even try to strike the balance he saw within his own home.
Dwarves mining the mountains with no concern other than easiest way to get at their
riches, humans always looking to expand their towns in whatever area surrounded,
whether encoraching on wilds, or other peoples, the tragedy of Tar Valon, mages
researching things that would never have been touched, all these thing concerned
Rindleblin. Also of great concern to Rindleblin was the interaction of his people
with the outside world and how this shaped the attitudes of his beloved Hillcrest.
More and more gnomes talked of expansions, order, making Hillcrest a city to rival
cities of men. Not all spoke of such things, but enough perhaps industrious enough.
to make changes in their close society.
The Hermit
Added Thu Mar 18 05:45:49 2004 at level 14:
Rindleblin often found himself visiting the mad hermit outside their walls more and more.
Though most of what he said was nonsensical babble, and at times he would attack
Rindleblin, Rindleblin found his forsaking of gnomish society intriuging and would
try to ascertain why he had done it, besides the decay of his mental faculties.
The Village

Rindleblin had not always been the hermit he had become. He grew up in hillcrest,
and was more or less content thereand definitely enjoyed parts of the communal
aspects of living with others of his kind. He felt the village did little harm to
the area it was located in, and through its gardens and parks even served to maintain
balance within its walls.
