Description

Before you stands an average size man, though his body appears to be athletic with hard and toned muscles. Shaggy chestnut hair falls down to his shoulders with a few locks draped across his face. Piercing blue eyes stare out at those around him, like a predator stalking their prey. There is a light stubble upon his chin, though several scarves seem to be wrapped around his neck and fall about his shoulders blocking the view of his neck. His garments appear to be darker in color, and well tailored to his form. His movements appear to be quick and flowing, as they blend both with his clothing and the shadows around himself. However his sleeves are pulled up revealing his forearms which appear to have several scars upon them. As well the figure appears to be missing a couple of fingers between his two hands, though it does not appear to bother him in any way.

The orphan named Rix

Rix and his twin sister grew up as orphans. As very young children, they
witnessed the murder of their parents, however they never knew who did it or
why.

Sent away to the Vandermore orphanage, they both had a rough childhood as
they were both on the scrawny side. More so Rix got into way more fights as
he was always there to protect his sister from the other children.

However this made the two scrappy and resourceful in life, though it did
start them down the path of crime.

Being a team, they would often work together in con's or petty thefts of
surrounding towns and cities. With Rix the muscle when needed, and his sister
Sofia the bait.

However one such job in which they were hired by an unknown man, sent them
into a manor on the outskirts of Tir Talath. Unknown to them, the owner of
the Residence was a recluse magi who had set many a traps upon his property.

While they were assaulted by many a traps, they were able to escape with
their lives from the manor with the trinket box which they had been
contracted to obtain.

However as they waited for the client to come and collect the box for their
payment, Sofia's curiosity got the better of her. Against Rix's protest, she
picked open the box and wanted to peer to what could be worth so much.

Feeling the hair stand up on the back of his neck, Rix attempted to reach out
and snap the lid shut however it was too late. The box exploded in the face
of Sofia killing her, and blowing off two fingers off Rix's hand.

In agonizing pain and confusion, Rix could hear a low soft 'tisk tisk' as
their client shimmered into view. Reaching down, he picked up the box and
tucked it away into the folds of his robe as he looked down at Rix. It had
been a test and the manor had been the clients home. He had wanted to see if
Rix and his sister could accomplish a heist, and this had been his test.
However seeing that they had broken his trust in attempting to open their
objective, the magi left Rix and his dead sister as they were now worthless
to him.

Tears in his eyes, Rix could only stare at his dead sister. His promise to
always be there to protect her now haunting him, as he had failed at that. He
would forever seek justice for his sister.

Rix views magic as the cause for his sisters death, and how it can not be
allowed in the hands of others. Even if one has good intentions, it is a
power which can not and should not be controlled.

In his own way, Rex now seeks to protect others within the world. To save
even one soul from magic, since he could not save his sister.

Bound for the Village

Upon the death of his sister, Rix often found himself wandering the streets
in a haze. Anger and rage within him for the deception of the mage for their
actions. They knew what they were doing, and simply wanted to toy with a pair
of orphans for their enjoyment. In his heart, he knew that he would never had
honored their pact no matter what had happened.

Yet without his sister, it was harder to come by coin and survive. Often
sleeping within an ally or some abandoned building, he was left alone with
his grief and anger. Wandering into the Inn of the Eternal star, he came
across Olin who offered him a warm meal and a drink seeing how haggard poor
Rix looked. Seeking a place of solitude, Olin allowed Rix to wander the
Lyceum as it would be a place not disturbed by anyone.

With his time there, Rix found the ancient tomes of lore and legend, speaking
of the first wars of Thera. Reading the tales, he was instantly hooked upon a
figure named BoltThrower and his rise. For they had dedicated themselves to
the magi who help form them, yet like his own life, was betrayed by the magi.
These battle ragers, they were kin just like him! If they could survive all
this time after their own betrayal by magi, then he too could rise up. Yet he
knew he would have to learn and grow more and hone his blade. He could no
longer be a thug, but would have to be something more deadly. He would be the
blade in the darkness that the magi would fear, finding the justice for those
like his sister.

The Enemies of Rix

It is granted any and all magi are those which Rix focuses upon, and all
others in truth do not matter to him. He may not like the stance some take,
yet they are free to live as they please so long as it is not tainted by
magic. However, should any who are not a magi go beyond simply defending
their companion and attack Rix then he shall view them as no better then the
mages. For they made their choice to attack, and as such they will be
handled.

This holds true for those of other cabals, as is often seen. Rix does not
care one way or the other about the Imperials and could care less about
hunting those who are not magi. However should he witness any of them assault
the Village in any way, then they are no longer ignored. Until then, he does
not seek their blood unless they are or aid a magi.
