Role
Rokhwar Rakna
Added Mon May 2 17:17:16 2016 at level 1:
1. Rokhwar Rakna was raised to be a bone-seer. He came to age within the wilds near Kiadana.
2. He keeps with him at all times his pouch of bones, as he was taught.
3. He uses his bones to glimpse the future (most often predicting the death of his enemies)
4. His life has been a difficult one, having been raised outside of society he resents laws.
5. He enjoys killing, this is likely why the bones predict death unto those he dislikes.
6. He values strength, and is tenacious in all that he pursues.
7. Deep down, he knows the bones hold no true power. He employs them due to tradition
8. He has begun to seek true power, whispers of an Ancient 'Drehir' have reached him.
9. He has wandered Thera for some time now seeking Drehir, and will eventually find the cave.
10. Despite being a giant, he speaks the common tongue quite well.
11. He does not tolerate what he sees as weakness, or indecision.
12. He is seeking answers regarding his fate, and is ever curious what the weaver will reveal.
13. He will eventually seek out the reavers of Thar-Eris and bring death and chaos to cities.
he believes:
1. To not follow your own desire is to be weak.
2. All weakness is to be destroyed, even that within oneself.
3. Blood and fury are the way of nature, and should be embraced, not shunned.
4. Anything can be accomplished, he will never give up when he sets himself to something.
Fate
Added Tue Jun 28 16:19:10 2016 at level 36:
Rokhwar has spent his time away from civilization working upon the
two tasks that Drehir set him to:
1. Form a plan to defeat the Sunwarden - not only physically. He
must also destroy the idea that she represents.
2. Spread the word to potential spiderlings.
Rokhwar has made progress upon both tasks as follows:
1. He has watched the Sunwarden battle, and has learned of
her weakness. While potent in the wilds with her beckoned
beasts, she is quite weak when faced with fighting in
civilization - unlike reavers.
2. To defeat the ideology that she promotes will take time.
Rokhwar intends to prove to others that her ideology is
weak, and does not truly promote the return of Thar-Eris
3. He will begin by attempting to turn sentinels from her
idea's by pointing out her un-willingness to openly war
with the spire. He believes this will work as most who
hold a branch know that the spire must be destroyed.
4. He will point out her willingness to work alongside
paladins, and dwarves as well. Questioning her
allegiance even further.
5. Finally, he intends to strike at other wardens to
show them as weak, and undeserving of a branch.
6. Rokhwar spent much time seeking others of his
kind who might become spiderlings. Most of them
did not meet his expectations, and were reaved as
a result.
7. A young drow was the only to prove himself thus
far. Rokhwar intends to keep speaking to this
young dark-elf.
Rokhwar has done all of this in hopes of pleasing Drehir. It is
his intent to convince the Ancient to grant him greater ability
to determine the fate of others as well as predicting his own
Summary
Added Fri Jul 15 11:32:35 2016 at level 50:
This is a brief summary of Rokhwar's interactions with Drehir up to
date. The purpose of this is to help out any IMM who wishes to step
in.
1: Rokhwar has been seeking to learn the path of revelation from Drehir
Drehir had asked him at their last meeting to continue to bring him
gifts of flesh. The reason for revelations is that it falls into
line with Rokhwar being a bone-seer.
2: Rokhwar and Drehir had discussed the Nightreaver - Kaer telling
Rokhwar that her time was short, and she was weakened. Drehir hinted
at a confrontation, but it had not been set in stone.
3: Drehir had requested that Rokhwar worship from a chamber other than the
one with his statue. Rokhwar had chosen the pool, as it meshes with his
desire to learn more of his own fate, and predict that of others.
4: Drehir had told Rokhwar that he was pleased with what he had watched from
the weave so far.
5: Drehir requested that Rokhwar let those he slay know that it was the weaver
who had pulled their thread - Rokhwar often mentions the weaver, and tries
to spread Drehir's religion.
6: Drehir and Rokhwar had been plotting agains the Sunwarden, and Rokhwar is
eroding her support from sentinels, and even wardens.
7: Rokhwar had told Drehir that Pak had been tasked by Jormyr to kill Rokhwar
8: In their last meeting, regarding Rokhwar gaining more power. Drehir had asked
"I will pose this. You have done all I have asked and more. But why?"
Rokhwar answered:
"I have done such to grow in strength, through you. It is my own desire these
things I ask for."
"All is a means to an end, Ancient. All have their belief, and mine has
always been in you, and the powers which you alone control."
"I know that I will one day perish, the death that I bring to others will come
to me in one form or another."
"I place my faith in you, and I prove myself because of it. My desires drive this"
"Such is the way of all faith, I do imagine."
Notes:
Drehir would often speak as "The nightmarish voice of an ancient"
in person, he always whispered.
A change of fate
Added Wed Jul 20 18:54:43 2016 at level 51:
Rokhwar has been approached by the god of war and strife, Jormyr. Jormyr came to him
while he was recovering from battle. Mortals had mocked Rokhwar claiming that his
faith was in a dead god. Rokhwar has disputed these claims, as he still carries with
him the powers of the weaver, his faith rewarded. Jormyr, however is a god and his
claims of Drehir's demise were heard by Rokhwar. It has been long since the weaver
has whispered to him, or answered his prayer. Rokhwar has ultimately decided to
pursue the lord of strife, and learn of his ways. While this may be difficult,
Rokhwar does not shy from a challenge.
notes:
1: Rokhwar will acknowledge the Weaver is gone, and that his powers granted have
waned. He will actively seek Jormyr offer his faith to the lord of strife.
2: While Rokhwar will openly embrace Jormyr's faith, he will still have strong ties
to death and fate, and will continue to cast the bones, and be a bone-seer.
3: Out of Jormyr's religion Rokhwar will embrace destruction and war the most. He
is tied closely to both as he was born under the sign of death. Which is a result
of destruction, and war.
4: Jormyr's offer to Rokhwar was that Rokhwar would lose what was gifted by Drehir,
and gain what is gifted by the lord of strife.
5: During a violent storm near the refuge, Rokhwar heard raspy other-worldly voices
promising him power unrivalled should he decide to adapt the faith of the lord of
strife. They were very convincing, and of an unknown origin. Their promise of
power was quite seductive.
6: Rokhwar will approach lord Jormyr, Open to learning any of the secrets the lord
might offer him. Including the shunned Demonspawn (the voices he heard were
revealed as demons via a reading of the bones). Rokhwar believes he is led by
fate, and wherever his fate leads him he will go (regardless of negative outcome)
7: Rokhwar intends to let go of the deceitful teachings, and embrace a more direct
approach to enemies.
faith reborn
Added Mon Aug 1 17:27:35 2016 at level 51:
Rokhwar has decided to fully commit to Jormyr's religion. Throughout prayer, and
resulting interactions with the lord of strife, Rokhwar has decided to abandon all that
he was as a spiderling. Rokhwar does not feel any guilt in this decision as Drehir had
abandoned him long ago. As a demonstration of his new commitment, Rokhwar placed his
pouch of bones upon the ever-cold ice block within the shrine of Jormyr as a sacrifice.
Jormyr has tasked Rokhwar and has let him know what it will take to fully become a
follower of the lord of strife.
Notes:
1. Rokhwar will no longer act as though his fate is unknown, he has come to understand
from the teachings of Jormyr that he is in control of his own fate. Nothing else
holds sway over him - including the bones. It was he who controlled the bones and
their tellings through his interpretations all along.
2. Rokhwar has adapted a new warcry to better suit his new beliefs he has discarded
his original battle cry "the bones have foretold your death, and I am here to deliver
it!" replacing it with "I will leave you broken upon the fields of strife!"
3. Jormyr recognizes Rokhwar's desire to become Nightreaver. Jormyr has tasked Rokhwar
with one of two paths. He will either convince Kaer to accept Jormyr's faith and
become one of the faithful, or he will break Kaer clearing the path for his own
desires.
4. Rokhwar has noticed that his enemies grow bold, and strong. Often he faces many
on his own. He cannot help but feel that Kaer could be doing more to strengthen
the reaver branch. If Kaer does not accept Jormyr, and start strengthening the
tree Rokhwar intends to bring the fire to the burner.
5. Rokhwar intends to make known his presence, and his faith to those that he
destroys with Jormyr's power. Through this method he will spread both admiration
and fear of the lord of strife.
6. Rokhwar openly challenges other priests, claiming that their power and their
followers pale in strength compared to jormyr
Nightreaver and conflict
Added Sat Aug 6 14:23:59 2016 at level 51:
Rokhwar has been named Nightreaver by the ancients. He was told it was not because he
was the only choice. Rather, it was because they had respect for his strength. He
also has been further blessed by the lord of strife, a result of discarding his old
belief and fully embracing the teachings of Jormyr. Jormyr has set Rokhwar to several
tasks, which Rokhwar is eager to complete.
Notes:
1. As Nightreaver, Rokhwar intends to bolster the reaver ranks. He wishes to grow the
most destructive branch of the tree to be the strongest.
2. Rokhwar fully embraces the teachings of Jormyr. He believes that conflict breeds
strength. To this end he will use the reaver branch to create conflict within the
tree itself. He intends to encourage reavers to war with the wardens. He also
intends to ignite a conflict between the Sunwarden and himself. He will openly
refer to her patron 'Nionwen' as a dead, powerless god who's last glimmer of
influence resides only in the Sunwarden. He will then compare Nionwen to Jormyr
to demonstrate the weakness inherent in the Sunwarden's beliefs.
3. Rokhwar is to guide Pak closer to the true nature of Jormyr. He intends to put
aside his combat with Pak, in favor of convincing her to hunt Balgrum by his side.
He will point out, that not only is Balgrum a dwarf deserving nothing more than
death. He will also point out that Balgrum is a follower of Avderlain, whom Jormyr
hates. This will cause conflict with Pak's own morals, and Rokhwar will enjoy the
strife that will result in all regards.
4. Rokhwar will begin to contradict the Harbinger's preaching about balance, insisting
that there is never a true 'balance' in nature - that there is only strife, struggle,
war and, only the strong will survive.
5. Rokhwar himself will actively hunt followers of Avderlain, Destuvious and Deormdel.
He may even go as far as to hunt the Harbinger.
6. Once the reaver branch is strong enough, Rokhwar will ignite conflict within his own
branch. Encouraging them to hunt one another in the absence of true enemies.
