Description

A slender and graceful female human moves through here as fluidly as the water. Her small, athletic frame is adorned with simple yet elegant white robes which hug tightly to her well polished and gleaming mismatched armors. Tied tightly around her waist is a braided leather belt interwoven with silver, adorned with objects and relics of various usage. Her hands are small and slender as well, though from their appearance, as hard as cut stone from much dedication to their usage. Small white scars that have long since been divinely healed over riddle her otherwise well manicured hands. Around the cuffs of the sleeves of her white robes are trimmed with soft gray fur, as well as is her hood which has been pulled back to reveal all of her soft natural beauty. Her shimmering light blond hair is long and flowing, cascading down her back and swaying and dancing as it so chooses, not unlike the unpredictable movement of the seas themselves. Her crystalline blue eyes reflect all the depth of the ocean and a great calmness and stillness can be seen within them, as well as a sparkle of fury and crashing waves. Lines and creases of laughter have formed at the corners of her eyes, though take away nothing from her natural given beauty. Her dazzling white smile reveals all the warmth and splendor that has shaped her into the loving and caring woman she is today.

The monks of the waves.

High in the mountains of Jade, built long ago off the northern side of the
moutains overlooking the crashing sea,  lies in seclusion a monestary not
very well known to the world. Those who were found by the elders of the
temple with the unique traits, and powerful spiritual bond to the heavens.
These children were considered to be honored to have been chosen for such a
blessedly righteous and fulfilling path, as such was that which awaited them
in their futures, should they find themselves in favor of the waves. Long ago
the ancient scholars of the Temple of the Waves, as it was called, began to
study and harness the power of the sea and the waves deep within them, by
mimicing its very movements and actions. Years were spent finding in
themselves  complete and utter calm and peace within, as still as the quiet
and clear ocean. Only then were those deemed to be ready to progress were
again chosen for the next level of their higher spiritual training. Their
link to the waters not only did provide these monks with uncanny calmness and
humility, but through their connection to the sea and the waves they had
found they were also capable of the wrath of the violent sea, as powerful as
an ocean storm, a force of the pure power of light flowing through them
freely as the raging rivers.  Though these forces were quickly learned to be
controlled through their knowledge and again their bond to their precious
waters, calling upon them to still their hearts.  Both their bodies and minds
were everyday influenced by their unique style of training, and even more
unique bond to the waves and waters of the seas.

The Temple of the Waves.

The story of the original founders of the faith and the meaning of what was to become the
Temple of the Waves which hung precariously of the northern side of the
mountains of Jade had incorperated their love for the oceans into their way
of living. And influenced by the light of the heavens upon achieving a higher
spirituality began to discover the ways that, when connected their love for
the light above to their unique bonds to the seas and waters below them, they
had attained a spiritual happiness, and fulfillment. They began finding ways
that they could do their unfathomable potential justice, and soon were
bringing the wrath of the crashing waves down upon the crowns of the wicked
soul. And in this they were complete, feeling washed clean by the sacred
power of the waves in doing what had felt righteous as if in thanks for the
great honor and favor that the seas had shown them. And from then on and
always, they remained connected to the calm of the still waters, as well as
the fury of the raging seas. And for this they praised the heavens, and
honored the light as best the could.

Rayihn's Temple.

Ever following the flows of the currents, and guided by the light of the
heavens, she moves onward. Away from the Temple of the Waves she has known so
long, and in fact is all she knows. Though also she was taught great
spiritual strength, and a bond to something deep and unfathomable. She is
ready to meet her maker, so to speak. So our heroine sets out to set her feet
now in the waters of Rayihn's temple

Leaving the Temple of the Waves was quite exciting for her, though deep in
her heart she remained skeptical that there could possibly be a substitute
for the peace of the life she lived there The memories of her beloved Temple
fill her with warmth, and light. They act as a reminder as to where she came
from, and who she is inside. She can still be found often deep in meditation,
her arms moving fluidly through the air in a slow and exquisite dance of her
martial forms in a state of pure serenity. She remains in awe of her Lady
Rayihn, for she is both immensely kind and beautiful. And not without an
unfathomable amount of wisdom, and the power of the seas. She had been
devoted to Her long before they met at Her Bathhouse, she just had yet to
discover where the currents were leading her. So onward she moves with the
flows of the great waters of Rayihn, her inspiration and utterly divine water
nymph.

The Chosen of Higher Training

Once completed of their initial training, every student of the Temple was to
wait and be chosen specifically by an Elder to begin their higher training in
the Temple arts. Most were chosen right away, many to undergo years of
service to their Elders before even being allowed to begin higher training.
Having students was quite popular, as it was used throughout the Temple as a
form of free service and labor for the lavish lifestyles and appetites of the
Council Elders. The Temple grounds, though small, was perhaps the town, and
had many traits of one as well. The inner grounds and surrounding outer
grounds were traversed by monks who now lived on the grounds, enjoying their
own peaceful form of life, hunting and selling their catch or wares. They
made up for what things were needed that the students, still short of
enlightenment, were strictly forbidden to provide. Killing, even to provide
food for ones self was not allowed. Without the right training and state of
mind, taking life would bring them down upon a spiraling road into hell.
Selling wares, and seeking profit and gain for ones work was not as damned a
path, but equally as distracting whilst they still walked along their path
towards enlightenment.

The Initiate of the Council Elder

Rosaline was chosen to train by one of the twelve Elders of the Council, to
the surprise of everyone. Those of the Council did not need to choose
students for the purposes of servitude, for those completed and left in
waiting were to be in service to the Council until such time arose as they
were needed for other duties. Those of the Council could choose students at
their will, and were not required as were many of the lesser titles of Elders
were to teach the initiates of the Temple. One of the Council had not chosen
a student in more than sixty years, and this was quite uncommon even then.

The Council Elder

From what she knew of him, the old man was quiet within the sessions of the
Council, only speaking on what he felt true matters of importance. Which to
him, many matters of the Council were of true importance. He felt as she
would come to find as well, that much of the Council had lost sight of what
they had come to learn and possess as a people. They were only put in place
to manage them, and it was traveling down the road towards imperialism. She
began her training with the Elder immediately, and loved him instantly. He
was kind and caring towards her, and treated her as his daughter. He was
patient with her, yet correcting her strictly when she made errors in her
studies. He had entwined much of her younger training to the new she found,
as she progressed quickly. He encouraged her to maintain the balance of the
spiritual and the physical as she fought, honing and adding a unique sense to
her combat prowess that bordered on the divine. All save for her master were
astounded by her progress, as was even she. Years were spent in this way, and
to her they were certainly the most peaceful. She never once thought to
question why things were as they were, and why she was chosen specifically
and against the common normalcy of the way the Council had been acting for
decades. Though once that thought had been given any attention, it quickly
grew into a fire that would not be put out. She set out to find who her
master was, what his history was, and most of all, who he was to her. What
she would come to find is that they were connected by far much more than the
spiritual bond of kinship they had with each other. They were connected by in
fact by blood.

Since time has been passing.

Many years have passed now for Rosaline. The passing of time had meant little
to her over those years. In fact, time was a concept she rarely thought about
at all, except for in instances when she was either looking forward to seeing
someone, or dearly missing them. She retains most of the vigor of her youth,
her sparkling smile and wit never faltering. Her want and desire to be loved
and love alike remains insatiable, though she certainly through experience
has learned some valuable lessons. She had not the wisdom in her youth, as
perhaps she has now. Maybe a bit more mature, but definitely less naive. She
still misses him dearly, and takes some comfort knowing that someday she will
see him again. He couldn't possibly be burning in hell, could he? The thought
of it pains her, and brings tears to her eyes. She wipes them away defiantly,
knowing she will have just one more crusade when she passes on, one more holy
mission for love. To find her holy grail, before her spirit is able to rest
peacefully.

The unique and blessed life of Rosaline, part one.

It seems as though throughout most of her life, Rosaline has known many forms
of war. That which she fights for, the love and warmth she struggles to
spread over Thera, despite the darkness and tyranny that has grown strong in
the later years of her life. It certainly does not seem as easy to her to be
quite as kind to those who would turn her away. Rejection is not something
she has been very fond of anyhow. Her bond to her brothers and sisters of the
Fortress, and her love for them and Rayihn has been the glue that has held
her life together through all of the struggle and loss of her years past. She
remains defiant til the very end, had never planned on ascending quietly to
the heavens. Her fire had never meant to just fade away. Somewhere deep down
she longs to be with those she has loved, that have passed on before her. In
many ways she feels isolated and alone. Being an Elder Acolyte and such a
spirited and bright spark of light, many have always looked up to her. And
her always compassionate and loving way of counseling and ministering to her
flock must be maturing as well, as she is now more than ever looked to for
advice by many. She is happy that she still feels needed, and hopes to take
up the mantle of a true spiritual leader of the Fortress if that is also the
will of the Gods of Light. She means to go ever on as she has, giving what
parts of her gift to those needing and deserving of her love, and blazing so
brightly as a light and inspiration to all of the lives she has touched in
her brief time in this world, so that a light so comforting, so blinding and
profoundly warm shall burst from her earthly body as her spirit leaves it's
beautiful and divine shell for the last time.
