Description
A tall elven maiden looms above most, her sleek figure athletic
and muscles nicely-toned. Unlike most other elves, who border on
an almost albino-like paleness, she is sun-loved and glows with
a light bronze tan. Her high cheekbones are prominent and
flushed a natural deep-set red like that of the sun at rise. Her
hair is dyed a crow-heavy black but the side burns are made to be
a contrasting winter-white. It is cut light, short and spiky,
clearly out of the way from her line of sight, leaving her forehead
high and commanding. Her facial features are well-chiseled, with a
sharp and strong nose and equally firm jaw. Her eyes are dew-dropped
in shape, lending her fierce features a soft edge. They are endless
pools of sombre gray, and gazing within them you cannot seem to sense
the bottom of her seemingless deep soul. The only emotion you can
firmly place a finger upon her being is a mood of tragedy, enhanced
greatly by the slight frown creased on her forehead and the sides
of her eyes. The only obvious elven feature that she carries are her
set of pointed elven ears sticking out accusingly. She scans her
surroundings constantly, arms usually crossed in a defiant manner and
stance steady, ready for combat anytime. She flicks her head from
time to time, making her seem somewhat proud and confident. Her lips
are full and a pale pink, and hold a sulk in them, bringing life to
her saturnine glare.
Role
Rough Outline and Background

A ROUGH OUTLINE AND BACKGROUND :
Rusenlan was brought up an elven maiden of war in the harsh terrain
of the Outer Land, also know as the Border Lands or the Frontier.
Her people has been given the duty since the beginning of time to
guard the Border from creatures wrought of dark magic, sent by the
Lord of Hell himself in a war against the heavens.
They believe magic sacred and that it can only be wielded in it's
true and full power by the gods themselves. No mortal man or
creature can wield it without bringing destruction with them, for
they cannot control it's power fully, they do not know how.
Muelin Sofrakandar, elven survivor from the Inner Land (Thera),
had managed to cross the Middle Earth (Living Hell) to the
Frontier, and thus deemed worthy to remain in the Outer Land to
teach the common tongue. It was he whom Rusenlan rescued from a
sus'tad, and him who became her teacher, teaching to her only the
best of the common tongue.
Rusenlan's Character

RUSENLAN'S CHARACTER :
A fierce maiden of fiery and moody temperament, who does not back
down or give up easily, common characteristics of her people in
order to survive. Forthright in character and speech, although
only speaking good common tongue as taught to her by Muelin.
Understands the importance of brotherhood and team work, as all
has to work with all at the Frontier, no matter what. Enjoys the
outdoors more, the only structures erected at the Frontier being
shrines of immortals.
Holds her pride strong, but is definitely not a snob. She takes
pride in the more real things of life such as brotherhood, the
art of war, her heritage and song. Expects others to love her
culture too, and gets offended when she thinks someone is making
fun of or insulting her ways and lifestyle.
Although gloomy and seemingly uncaring, she is self-sacrificial
and would give her life up for her Brother's. She does not like
to display her 'weaker' natures, and chooses to hide it behind
her sharp words and glares.
A few words that can be used to describe her are stubborn, proud,
fierce, strong, moody, forthright, honest, traditional, defiant,
independant, valiant and adaptable.
Earning her Chosen Name

Earning Her Chosen Name, as told by Rusenlan :
I do not know why I did it. I do not know how. But my song
brought life. My Sister had taken a severe wound from a
sus'tad, and her blood drenched the bandages fast, no matter
how tight or fast I bound her wounds.
Then she stopped breathing, her grasp on me loosened. I knew
she was no more. I laid her down, and I sang my heart out,
our song of childhood, only she and I knew. I do not know
how, but she stirred, as if my song had the power of life in
it. I knew I had to sing on. My Brothers only stared. I think
it went on for many hours, and I cannot remember too clearly.
But my Brothers uttered these two words upon their lips,
'SevenSong', 'SevenSong'. And I knew my Chosen Name had been
given.
I felt a stirring in my spirit, a deep sense of pride. A pride
in my heritage, culture, people and self. And I knew my stars
had been born, as with all when their Chosen Name is earned.
Many dreams did I have after. Dreams of drum and flute, of
war songs on bloodied fields. I have chosen Lord Kastellyn to
be my Guide, as all must when their Chosen Name is earned.
The Wise Women say our Lord is related to our Name somehow. I
do not know if my Lord is a songsmith, but the Wise Women tell
me I must go forth to this Inner Land Muelin has been telling
me about.
There is a war I must fight there, in a Village led by my Lord.
No one in my tribes have followed Lord Kastellyn for many ages,
none know much about the Inner Land. But I have been called to
war there, I know I must go tonight.
Standings

Many seem appalled when Rusenlan travels with dark-heart Brothers, but
Rusenlan does not understand why. Up in the Borders, one does not say
one will not work with duergar when true enemies cross the Frontier.
She sees more honour in working with duergar to push true enemy back,
than to war both and in the end, allow both escape and her people to
suffer.
However, she will never walk with any dark-hearts whom she has not
sworn as Brothers (Villagers). For she deems dark-heart Villagers a
cut above the rest, for they held honour and pride in their combat,
shared the same beliefs and respected her Lord whom is above all to
her. Outsiders she considered deceptive and abhorrent in nature, and
many without any sense of honour or dignity, which she despises.
Brotherhood is extremely important to Rusenlan, and she holds it with
much pride. Her people is a strongly bonded one, and now that the
Village is her family, she wishes to see it united strongly for war.
She will never hurt family, and will aid them willingly, for such
is the meaning of family.
Up in the Borders, her people were many and mainly of elven blood, and
therefore, held the Light reverant. True enemies were all of dark
magic and therefore, there was never a problem of Light and Shadow until
she came to the Inner Lands. She was extremely shocked to learn that
even those of her blood here blasphemously wielded magics.
Rusenlan respects those who hold the Light reverant in their hearts and
did not delve in taint, for such shared similar beliefs to an extent, and
to hold the Light reverant says much good about one's morals, integrity
and beliefs, unlike outsider dark-hearts. She leaves such people alone
and will not harm them unless they strike at her first.
As for those whose hearts were ambivalent, so is she ambivalent towards
them in attitude. For they held no stance in any direction, did not
hold honourable beliefs and did not war true enemy. She has little respect
for such undecidedness.
