Description

Standing before you is a human male who stands at about an even six feet. He seems to be only in about his middle years from his noticeably unmarked face, smooth except for a few wrinkles about his eyes and mouth. His hair, which sticks up in random directions as if it has missed it's weekly brushing, is almost as dark as his eyes and seem filled with mirth waiting to escape. He seems to be constantly grinning, despite the situation. However, despite his hearty appearance, you notice he occasionally touches his lower back gingerly and winces, as if his bones and joints are those of a man well into his old age. Indeed, the hair around his temples are iron gray though when he speaks his voice has the strong and coarse accent of a man from the country, though his hands are completely unmarked from labor. As you look closer, however, you notice his left fingertip is stained a faint black, as if it has been recently dipped in ink.

Because of Satebos and Gulkra, I decided to take a trip to the family farm
and see how everyone is. It was a terrible, horrible mistake. My heart is
like a stone in my chest, and it seems all the humor has left me.

Upon my arrival, as an eagle, I was immediately scorned by my brothers and
sisters, who had gathered when they heard of a mage visiting the village. My
mother and father came shortly after, and the entire family agreed that I was
a traitor to the Elwade line. My youngest sister Emmy, the only one who ever
understood me, has been dead for over thirty years, while I was out pursuing
my own selfish parties and adventures. My own father spit at me and told me
never to return, because his shame and anger about his worthless son made him
wish to die.

There's nothing more in Thera that I want than to just hole up somewhere and
waste away, but I cannot leave my friends during such dark times, what with
the Ill Omen. I will not weigh them down wtih my own family problems. I will
smile and laugh as always, despite my aching heart.

A Letter Home.

Dear mother and father,

It's your good for nothing son Ryasyn! Haha, I'm doing surprisingly well out
here in the big world. I often think about the farm back home. You'd be proud
to know I got taken into a very prestigious group named the Heralds of the
Eternal Star and have even made some pretty respectable friends. I know this
isn't how you expected things to turn out from me, but isn't it for the
better? I've even met a god! She didn't seem too big on me, but I could tell
deep down she wanted to be friends. I guess she got wind of the fact that I
was hunting for the sea that a dead god supposedly resides in. See? I'm up to
big things.

I'm enclosing a few golders with this letter, 'cos I know that Emmy gets sick
real easy. Give my love to all of them, Emmy, Jenna, Jalob, Camby, Ensire,
Lily, Lucy, and Astran.

Ever since I was born it seemed that I had no desire to work. My dad used to
beat me for it and threaten me, but after a few years he gave it up as a lost
cause. I've just never saw any point in doing something that didn't seem like
fun for me. My brothers and sisters all knew what they were going to do in
life: a paladin, a monk, a scribe, things like that. But I just wanted to
have a good time. I understand that hurting innocent people isn't okay, and
that at if someone is in trouble I should try to help tehm, but so long as no
one gets in teh way of my good time, I don't see any reasont o bother them.

So if I want to drink, eat, party, gamble, run about with fast women, what of
it? I'm not harming anyone. The only reason I even want to gain ranks in my
guild is so that I may have the powers to beat back anyone who would try to
hurt me.
