Description
Wide lips stretch across this man's face with deep creases as a result of
what must be a perpetual instinct to smile. Lines at the corners of soft,
pale gray eyes also curve upward as if the eyes themselves laugh a lot below
his bushy brown caterpillar of eyebrows. Blond hair sprawls down his back in
a semi-haphazard fashion before being tied off with a red thong of leather.
His nose is peppered with freckles and shaped not unlike the letter A with
all straight lines and angles. His skin is lightly tanned and has the
weathered texture of one who spends a lot of time doing rugged activities and
a small layer of travel dust lingers upon the bottom of his clothing. His
thin, yet well defined, muscles move his limbs in a spry manner when he
walks, or skips as it takes his fancy, upon his way.
Role
Desperately Seeking Truth
Added Mon Jan 9 13:51:25 2017 at level 1:
My mother was always worried about me since the time I took my first steps.
"Come back here Sae!" or "Where are you Sae!" were common phrases throughout
my youth. I could never stand still more than the time it took me to study
whatever was before me. I wanted to know it all, the truth of the world and
all within it. I sought it out in the paddocks, up the road at the neighbors,
and over at the small village green. Truth, however, is this murky thing that
I never really found since each person in my life had a different truth. My
mother would say that truth is being honest and kind. My father said that
truth was working hard and bringing home food and money as he set me to work
with the sheep and the vegetables. There were other truths as well if you saw
others such as taking from the weak when you are strong or seeking fame and
fortune in the cities. Each person I met would each have their own version of
truths. So then I thought to myself, is there a single truth out there? The
only way I would ever find out is to go experience all there is in this vast
world. And so when my parents could no longer keep me at home I set my feet
upon the road to find what it is that is true in the world.
The Truth Is Out There

My feet padded along the rolling hills as I struck out on my grand adventure
of life. It was filled with so many truths that I had not experienced before
such as walking a lot gives you blisters, dust gets thicker with time, and
individuals come in all types. I camped with other travelers and found that
most were merely farmers or traders out playing their wares at the various
towns and cities. Some were mercenaries out on some mission or bodyguards
protecting some lord. Each had their own truth to their reason of existing
and saw the world in their own unique ways. One such traveler caught my
attention more than most, however. His name was Mick and he called himself a
vagabond by profession. He invited me to his camp and sang songs and told
stories of the wonders and horrors of Thera. I was delighted to hear so many
fascinating things and ended up traveling with him for a time until we
reached the city of Tir-Tillith. It was there he directed me to the guild of
Bards and bid me farewell. It was also there that I learned to play
instruments, and get into drunken fist fights, and the skills of reading and
writing. Such skills would come in quite useful in the future I felt. And
then the future came and as I graduated the academy lectures of the guild I
was released into the wild with a grand array of truths to find and learn!
From Words Come Truth

Upon the roads I did roam with a grin on my face and a penchant for fun! Fun
I did find working for my meals and my drink. I worked as a mercenary for the
famous captain Brundlir, fetching him all sorts of various items in various
manners. I killed the undead for the priests of the Tirumvirate and solved
the murder of a mage most foul. I even fixed magical apparatus and read
magical manuscripts in order to craft alchemical concoctions infused by a
devils power! Friends I made aplenty in the form of paladins of the Light and
warriors of roguish adventure, healers of the Empire and sneaky little
goblins. Each brought with them their own delights and challenges, truths for
my experience within the vast world. Many of these friends, some enemies
dear, would speak of the Witch Ishuli who housed a great library the likes of
which they assured me I would find comforting as I spoke of stories among
them. It was there, indeed, that I felt a pulling as I had the urge to bring
others together for the purpose of sharing their truths. It was a selfish
desire, to be sure, but one that would certainly be worthwhile for any who
would participate. A competition, it would be, of short stories! Much can be
said in long stories but at times they lose their focus. Short stories impart
wisdom in a manner that can be digested by the mind of many more readily and
create fertile soil within the brain in which new truths to grow. The Witch
Ishuli has agreed to my initial proposal and now all that is left is to plan.
To fill the soul with Truths.

And so the day of the great contest arrives and, nervous as I am, get down to
business! The stories come quickly and marvelously from the mouths of the
varied peoples present. Enraptured and enthralled are the eyes stolen by the
orators speaking their words into a medium that all can understand. A success
most assuredly and pleasing to my Goddess and of course to myself. My own
story received the most praise, but alas, as the organizer of the event I
cannot be seen as favoring myself and so recuse myself from any rewards. The
praise and truths shared were more than enough for this heart of mine.
Not long after the second contest comes and goes and with it another season
of precious memories and stories. The breath of life also slightly fades from
within my limbs as I grow older in age but I will not let this stop me from
learning all the truths there are to find. The knowledge innumerable are
always there waiting to be seen, to be heard, to be had. More stories there
are and so more competitions I will have and fill my soul to it's fullest
each time.
What is a name?
Added Fri Apr 21 14:06:02 2017 at level 51:
Some have asked of my last name as I come to be of age and some fame and yet
I cannot think that I have any. Simple farmers rarely take a surname beyond
the place of their home and such is surely not what I wish to be known by.
Perhaps in time I will simply earn one that embraces the Truths that other
see in me or perhaps the Lady Ishuli will see fit to bestow a name upon me as
I faithfully attempt to follow her with my seeking of Truths and the
knowledge it brings to us all. Only time will tell.
