Description

A long, cylindrically-shaped creature swims through here, its undulating tail fin propelling it relentlessly forward. Covered with a slimy gray-brown skin and measuring about three meters in length, this electric eel does not strike you at first as a particularly attractive or menacing individual. However, it is surrounded by a palpable force field that sparks the nearby waters with reverberations of energy, enervating even remote lifeforms several meters from it. This slick eel is a living sliver of electricity, belied only by its muddy appearance.

The captains of the seaport had called for a crisis conference.  It was held at the
smokey bar on the seaport itself.  They were all in attendence.  The talking point
was future viability of the services they offered.

Kares Winterbane opened "Too many people seem to want to save their coins
and take to crossing the seas themselves.  Our ships need maintenance, our
crew need wages.  Without paying customers to transport, we will have to cease
operations"

Craydullagh Inerfstriach agreed "Same goes for the Crimson Fire".

"And the Golden Pearl" added Anxchizrepp.

The bar errupted into a throng of drunken voices trying to add to the conversation.

"Enough!" yelled the Harbormaster.

Surely enough, silence followed.

"There is one option I am fearful of taking, but we have little choice..." he bemoaned.
"There is a creature of the seas, a long, cylindrically-shaped creature.  Deadly.
I have seen it with my own eyes"

"Me too!" chimed Cantydine La Sinc.

"Let us ask this creature to ensure the citizens use our transport and not their own
selfish ways, to cross the water."  the Harbormaster postulated.

"But how?" questioned Slyxia Slavarine.

"Easily dear Captain.  It will involve payment, but the plan is flawless.  We shall discuss
the monetary issues once I have spoken with the creature.  The seas will turn red and
the citizens will once again use our trusty vessels."

The drunking and brawling resumed at the bar.  The meeting was over.

The Bounty Hunter

In true mercenary style, Sai paid attention to the Bounty Hunter Halrilz.  A sizable
reward was to be given for the head of the Emperor.  A reward that Sai could not
pass up.  It was clear what he needed to do.  Infiltrate the Empire and assassinate
the Emperor.

The opportunity couldn't have come any easier either.  The Shadow Lord, sick of
drowning at sea, was to wave the white flag towards Sai.  He offered Sai a place
amongst the halls of the Citadel, in exchange for safe passage over the waves.
The timing was perfect.  All Sai had to do was withstand the incompetence of
the citizens for enough time to hatch out a plan to remove the head of the Emperor.

A simple enough task.. or so Sai thought.  It must have been loose lips on a drunken
night at the smokey bar.  Whatever it was, word got back to the Shadow Lord.

It was time the seas and the Citadel parted ways.
