Description
A giant of a man stands before you. His height seems about 14 feet and is as
broad as a thousand year of walnut tree. From beneath his hood hangs a thick
matted mass of dreaded long hair. His hair is as white as fresh snow but
in the sun seems to cause a light blue tint. His long beard of same color
hangs down to his chest, covering most his face. Caught in the tangled mess
are bits of dead weeds, leaves, and wild flowers. Perhaps from traveling in
the wilderness. Dry, cracking, and covered in thick calluses his blue and
grey skin streches across his face, expressing every curve of skeletal frame.
His big shiny green eyes have a dim glimmer like two emeralds in the rough.
Most notable is his great big smile he wears, his friendly charm seems to
affect most as it is hard not to smile yourself when he passes by.
Role
Giants of the Sky

People often forget that the giants were the first creatures that walked the
earth of this world. It explains how certain giants feel a natural affinity
with nature, because they are still the most natural of breeds amone the many
races. It also explains why they tend to keep to their own kind and why they
tend to root themselves far far away from the civilizations of man. They wish
to remain pure and to avoid the conflict with men and their ways against that
of the cycle of life and nature. Far up on top of one the highest mountain
peaks an ancient glacial valley, hidden long ago from a giant avalanche which
cut off the only entrance, lived a large group of cloud giants. They could
have opened up the valley had they wanted but they saw it as a blessing from
the heavens and the gods themselves. That is where the story of Salahrucid
begins.
Not everyone among the Tarn tribe, they named themselves after the only lake
in their hidden valley, shared the same introverted feeling towards life.
Every few hundred years or so it was bound to happen. One of the children
would grow to be so curious of life that they were, as the elders called it,
born with the wanderlust.
Salahrucid was an extremely enthusiastic child. Observing life and watching
change was all he wished to do. Finding new seeds and planting them so he
could watch them grow was one of his more loved things to do. The giants
knew how to cultivate and some even had their own little gardens but they
mostly hunted and foraged for nature provided all they needed. Salahrucid
learned from them of the history of the world and the sancity of life. In
fact their ways reflect those of the druids of Thera. Respect for Mother
nature is important and protection of the cycle of life is crucial.
Salahrucid lived quite happily as one with nature but he always
as something was missing from his life.
Living so high above the clouds the giants rarely saw much of the ground
below, but on any clear day Salahrucid would travel to the top of the
highest peak to see the changes below. The root of his wanderlust was
the changes each season brought. The valley he lived in did not change
much between seasons. It was not long before Salahrucid left his home to
live as witness to the beauty mother nature can bring with the the moon,
the sway of the tides, and the changes of season. The only direction his
tribe could give him was to seek out the druids of the grove. So he set
out on his journey down the mountain and to the world unknown to him.
A Time of Dark Seasons
Added Mon Jul 26 19:17:44 2010 at level 16:
After years of wandering Salahrucid came upon the holy grove of the great
druid circle. There he spoke with the druids about the world around them
and of the great history of the different races as well as their wars. He
learned how the land has suffered and continues to see meaningless loss of
life. Salahrucid begged to help them in any way could, for he knew he was
strong and could help protect the circle of life. He felt it was his destiny
to help the great mother spirit of life, and the druids agreed with him. They
saw in him great wisdom and a strong spirit. After allowing him to enter the
druid's circle, Salahrucid left to find out all he could of the current state
the world was in. They told him of an "academy" that would tell much of what
he needed to know. Although it was near a great city, Salahrucid went to the
academy to learn.
Great amounts of wisdom and knowledge was what Salahrucid found once entering
the "academy". Never before had he known about such unnatural and wicked
things. Learning about the guild of necromancers made his stomach wrench and
hurl. When he was told about the dark paladins and what their rituals were
used for, his heart hung low and he felt a great sorrow. The curses that came
out of him when he listened about the tales of the magi who conjure beings
to this world from others was as if he had conjured the spirits of the old
giants. For he himself could not understand the curses that came from his
mouth. It seemed that everything he learned about was trying to destroy the
world around him. Men who bare nothing but greed and give nothing but death
are all that seem to occupy Thera, or as Salahrucid had recently learned,
Thar-Eris. There was one thing Salahrucid saw in the academy that lightened
his heart. It was a tapestry which told the story of the Outlanders of Thar-
Eris. People who feel the same affinity with nature as he did. Man as well
as women who stand against the unnatural factions that wish to destroy their
world. They seemed to be the only ones who fight for Thar-Eris, and for
mother. Salahrucid must be like them, he must take up arms and fight.
The dark seasons ahead cry for the ancient ways to be restored.
Salahrucid knew he would need the blessings of the elder druids for his new
task. He would also need the blessing from mother herself, empowerment from
the great lifeforce to grant him the strength to fight, to protect. It is
now his task to prove to the spirits of Thar-Eris that he is worthy of their
blessing and that he is truely devoted to protecting them. From the low
plains to the high mountains Salahrucid continues his journey to speak
with mother or the ancient spirits of the lifeforce and ask them for their
blessing. Then he can set out to find those called the Outlanders.
The Ancients Call

Long had Salahrucid searched for the ancient Spirits of Thar-Eris. Almost every
place he ventured he could feel their presence, but none as strong as when he
stumbled off a mountain ledge and into the destructive fury of the most awesome
tempest Salahrucid had ever seen. Barely able to withstand the buffeting winds
he pushed closer and closer. Never before had he seen such a devestating force
such as the storm before him. It was there that he howled into the winds, a
call to the ancient spirit. He knew his calls were heard for he could feel the
strength of the spirit of the storm. He called to the ancients asking for them
to bless him with the strength of the storms.
Many times he visited the mighty storm, but the answers he recieved were the
same as any storm's flashing lights and booming thunder. Although he knew they
could feel him, he felt they thought him worthy of their blessing. Salahrucid
became worried. He knew, althought it would not stop his efforts, the forces
he sought to battle were much too large to fight alone. His dream to hunt with
those called the Outlanders would be only a dream if the ancients did not see
him worthy and pure enough to join them.
After a time of meditation and prayer within the storms, Salahrucid traveled
to the Holy Grove and spoke with the druids there. He asked why the ancients
had not answered his call. "Who exactly is it you seek" they asked. "Words
can confuse even the most ancient of the gods. Is it Lady Netoulda? You
said you spoke of Mother to them. There are many that are refered to as her.
Were you clear with your words, Salahrucid?" He sat and thought for a moment.
"The nameless ancients you seek" they questioned. "Yes!" he cam to realize.
"The ancient spirits who molded this world. The ones who gave Mother her
children and shaped her with their many powers, such as the spirits of the
storms. The Mother that I speak of is the earth, the trees, the water, all
of the substance of Thar-Eris. The one who turns the cycle of life and keeps
the world in a true balance in the chaos of nature."

Not more than a moment had passed after Salahrucid explained himself to the
druid circle before he felt an overwhelming jolt run through his body. His
heart nearly thumped out of his chest and his skull felt as if it were to
burst like a hot geyser. A bolt of light came streaking down from the clear
skies and engulfed him in a swirling whisps of light and dark. He levitated
up above the trees and suddenly the light was gone, and he fell back down to
the ground. The druids spoke softly to him, "It seems the ancients were
listening to you after all." One gracked a little grin saying "ya just needed
to be a bit clearer with ya words there. Ya been empowered by the ancient
spirits." Salahrucid stood up and cleared his head, which was swiming from
his recent enlightenment. The druids told him "Go now and tell others of the
seasons and the storms, it seems that there are good spirits who will listen
to you, Salahrucid." He bowed before his mentors and was off.
