Description
Before you stands a bat-like creature approximately 6 feet in height with
translucent dark leathery wings a span of eight feet in length. Her body
covered in long woolly fur with a predominant color of gray brown. Bony
elongated claws that are capable of wielding weapons with skill and grace.
The fur around her neck is orange. Her fox-like head has small pointy
triangular ears, always listening intently. The fur upon her head is a
mahogany-red. Sharp canid teeth can be seen when she opens her mouth. Her
large forward facing green eyes vigilantly take in the details of her
surroundings. She moves with supernatural elegance and grace, belying her
profound transformation.
Lingering in the air around her is a strong minerally scent with an undertone
of earth.

Dream of A Well Ordered Cemetery Part I

My parents were well to do citizens of Ayr'Trinil. They didn't worship any
particular deity but were very kind to those around them. My Father would
help the downtrodden by providing them with work in his carpentry shop in
exchange for room and board. My Mother crafted remedies of a magical nature
and sold them. I was only 10 years old when reavers and villagers came to
Ayr'Trinil to wreak havoc. Setting fire to my dwelling place, a beautiful
wooden den overlooking the mountains, both the villagers and the reavers had
their reasons for persecuting my parents. They executed my parents right in
front of me by burning.
Sparing me only cause a villager defended me saying "she is too young and may
yet grow to know that magic is a truly vile practice. That we justly put her
parents to death". The strongest reaver, a hypocritical shaman who was known
to frequent the gambling dens and brothels of Ayr'Trinil spending the coin he
reaved and supposedly sacrificed, argued for throwing me into the bonfire
with my parents "she is tainted by civilization as well as magic, no good can
come of suffering her to live". He stated angrily, the wind causing his
priestly gray robe to flap manically. His eyes beaming with malice. The
villager, a mighty giant of unclear origin stood firm "I won't allow it".
The shaman trembled briefly and with a quick scowl directed at me than the
warrior, quietly assented. Overwhelmed with terror and grief I could not
speak. I fled into the night and wept bitterly. Lost in the mountains of
Udgaard under the starless night sky, I vowed revenge. I wept myself to
sleep. I found myself in the middle of a tranquil cemetery, all the
gravestones in perfect order one from another. Organized according to one's
station in life. The homeless interred towards the front of the graveyard.
Interred behind that row were those employed by others and arranged according
to status in ascending order on the sloping graveyard with the highest in
status looking down on the others. above the gravestones were a series of
mausoleums of important peoples of great wealth, power, prestige, and title.
All arranged in degree of importance like the other rows. My attention was
drawn to an ornate gold-fringed cenotaph at the very top of the graveyard
with a circular engraving of a gryphon with red rubies for eyes on the door
and under the engraving was an inscription of
SHAEDRINA
Lives on to wreak eternal vengeance
upon the forces of dissonance. Draining
them of blood forever
The meaning of this confounded me. I was not dead, and why would I drink
blood? The only thing that made sense is my insatiable desire for revenge.
Suddenly I saw what appeared to be the head of a most handsome if a bit
foreboding arial gradually materialize before the cenotaph maintaining
spectral transparency. His scarlet robe billowing in the breeze as he
adjusted his gold fringed hood. He than introduced himself "I am Sarlanius,

one of your spirit guides. Your loss has opened you to receiving the true
reality of life and death.
An acorn follows a blueprint of sorts whereby it grows into an oak tree, a
totally orderly process. Sheep are herbivores and wolves prey on them,
hierarchy in action. Ants make elaborate tunnel systems complete with their
own hierarchy, an example of civilization in nature. Order is nature,
contrary to the false teachings of the Outlanders. Your purpose in life is to
exsanguinate the enemies of order.
Every night when you sleep we will train you for your role. You will learn
how to create angels of order from the dead, and how to afflict maladies upon
thy enemies. This practice is known on your placement as necromancy. In due
time we will prepare you for your ascension into vampyredom, than you shall
live forever exsanguinating those who disrupt order" Than I awoke,
recognizing the universal importance of my divine task.
A Question For Master Sarlanius

Sitting cross-legged on a rug of constellations, the cool night air whirling
and almost extinguishing the flame of my match as I light the skull candle
before me. Focusing on the flame atop the arial skull I inhaled and exhaled a
few times than closed my eyes. I call to thee Master Sarlanius, I desire to
know what is the name of the supreme deity who I'm to dedicate to? Rillan,
god of order and civilization, he is the one most worthy of our dedication.
Replied Master Sarlanius.

I made pilgrimage to Lord Rillan's marvelous palace once more, finally
meeting face to face this great god. I have been tasked by Lord Rillan to
write a missive detailing examples of how I live by Rillan's
commandments and to come to him with three undead angels.
The fool who think's he's so wise Magistrate Celdimerick objected to my
referring to dear Magistrate Friscko's zombie, that I had raised after he was
struck down while bravely defending the scales against savages, as "a mighty
undead angel of order". Although he claims to have no objection to necromancy
he chafes at the truth I have spoken! My necromancy transmutes tragedy to
fortune and dissonance to harmony!
Tirelessly I toil on behalf of the Spire, and in the grand scheme of things
civilization, despite this I'm belittled by comrades. Justiciar! Truly what
the Spire needs to win the war against chaos. Yet there is none to be found
for years and years, not since Atrael. I desire the position not for myself
but for civilization.
I state before my fellow Magistrates that one of its values is seeing the
camouflaged and suddenly I'm inundated with accusation and insinuation that I
think it's all its for, nay! I recognize its purpose for investigation but I
also recognize its value in fighting the enemy. Celdimerick even said to
me "Magistate Shaedrina, that line of reasoning is the same as claiming that
the chief benefit of active Provincials within the Spire is the ability to
have more lieutenants on roster.".
Completely without merit! I never said it was a chief benefit. He said he
considered my stance "diminishes the purpose of what the august post is
about". To which I replied
"We are a law enforcement agency, the criminals won't apprehend themselves.
We need to use force and reconnaissance. We need all the tools at our
disposal. The Outlanders have all their tools at their disposal"
Than he has the gall to state that "So do we. They can not hide from you in
your jurisdiction.". It is patently false that we have all our tools at our
disposal at this time, we need to see camouflaged when taking the fight to
the enemy whose headquarters aren't in our jurisdiction. This gnome even has
the nerve to contrast an apple to an orange, Justiciar to Provincial, a
leadership to a non-leadership position in order to "best" me in a debate.
Why does the truth burn him so that he twists my words? I wondered. My spirit
guide Master
He even said to me "I feel there is a wisdom that escapes you why such powers
are granted to the positions that do get them.". As if I don't understand
that the position of Justiciar is as Zelisha said "for investigative". I
understand perfectly! Contrary to the insulting statement that I lack wisdom.
During the same debate before the Spire
I replied to Celdimerick "I learned nothing new other than my comrades don't
like me mentioning that it can help see the camouflaged" His response was

"Yes, because that is not the important aspect, and you keep bringing it
up.". Proving to me that he doesn't value lives of the Spire. Sarlanius spoke
to me during meditation with an explanation "He cannot handle the thought of
you becoming a Justiciar, he's afraid you'll outshine him".
I'm jibed by Provost Atrael for my so called lack of service. Just the other
day he told me "I just noticed rust on your badge" I train everything that I
can legally in the city of Hamsah. Crime is a rarity on my watch, this is was
success looks like even if that gnome does not recognize it. I don't know
what he could possibly mean other than this being petty attempts at annoying
me, the one destined to bring a golden age of civilization to the entire
world with my army of undead angels.
Endless games they play with my very important mind. I'm told I don't watch
my city enough, than I say I practice wands in the Spire as it wouldn't
be legal for me to practice in Hamsah. Than its "I'll challenge you then" watch over
your city while practicing wands in the Planar Sanctum! The Planar Sanctum
Isn't the city of Hamsah, Atrael has made a nonsequiter. I'm than told
that I can use non-offensive wands to practice withn city limits, the problem
with that is I don't recall any wands like that which can be bought in bulk.
None were forthcoming when asked, I'm not holding my breath that they'll tell
me for surely they fear my light. What follow is a transript entered into my
journal, italics are mine.
[TRIBUNAL] Shaedrina: I havent gotten barrier yet. still working on
perfecting wands and going to get one or two more siena's
[TRIBUNAL] Atrael: What do you mean working on perfecting wands! Just go to the Sanctum.
[TRIBUNAL] Atrael: It will be very fast there!
[TRIBUNAL] Shaedrina: Why leave the spire when I can practice here? I bulk
purchased 20 wands from the [redacted]
[TRIBUNAL] Atrael: I'll challenge you then - why stay in the Spire when you can learn while also
keeping eyes on a city!
*How does one watch over their city while in the Planar Sanctum?
The Planar Sanctum isn't part of Hamsah, telling me to keep
an eye on the city from the Planar Sanctum doesn't make any sense!*
[TRIBUNAL] Shaedrina: How do I practice while keeping an eye on the city?
[TRIBUNAL] Luphozra: I imagine it depends on the type of wands you use.
[TRIBUNAL] Celdimerick: Mainly by being vigilant within your own
jurisdiction, Magistrate Shaedrina.
*What a jackass, I'm asking how to do that while practicing wands
and again no solutions only an insinuation that I don't watch my city enough*
[TRIBUNAL] Atrael: I just noticed rust on your badge that's all.
*Rather than answer my question Provost jibes me*
[TRIBUNAL] Shaedrina: I need things to blast with, I can't do that legally in my city
[TRIBUNAL] Atrael: You do you! When you are ready for more responsibilities,
I'll set you on some tasks!

[TRIBUNAL] Shaedrina: I also need to raise one more undead
[TRIBUNAL] Shaedrina: What wands can I use to practice within city limits?
[TRIBUNAL] Druzar: Probably any wand you find that targets yourself.
[TRIBUNAL] Shaedrina: I dont think I know any that can be bought in bulk
[TRIBUNAL] Celdimerick: Or better yet, make your way to the Sanctum. The
wands there are free and there is plenty of viable targets to train on.
[TRIBUNAL] Shaedrina: Well... than I wouldnt be watching over the Spire or my
city
[TRIBUNAL] Atrael: I thi k the Spire doe not eed wa ching.
[TRIBUNAL] Atrael: But at's just my vi w
[TRIBUNAL] Celdimerick: We hardly need a Magistrate within the Spire to be aware of any tresspassing.
*Nobody can answer my question, only jibes.*
[TRIBUNAL] Luphozra: I think the mage got your throat rather well Provost.
[TRIBUNAL] Atrael: W l I ca not eat o rink for te ho !
[TRIBUNAL] Atrael: I w tching ove th S ire!
[TRIBUNAL] Atrael: T ak sure the Executio e is safe!
*I find Provost's last three comments, although unintelligible, to be
suspiciously mocking in tone given the dialogue that just took place between
me and the Spire.*

Gnoub is now a Magistrate. Magistrate Gnoub erred in striking Ios in Galadon,
Ios was trying to retrieve the fetish hence was not wanted. Atrael called a
meeting at the Executioner. To my shock the entire Spire, not just Gnoub, was
ordered to stand down and allow our Captain to be mercilessly slaughtered by
a savage saurian druid. Present at this meeting were I, Zelisha, Atrael,
Gnoub, and Druzer who rested before the stand down order was given. Truly a
betrayel of our dear Captain who's whole life is dedicated to civilization
and order! I may speak to Zicdorgle whom I became accquinted with at the Inn
on this matter in the hope that it gets brought to light. To think that there
were concerns expressed by a Magistrate not long ago over perhaps
inadvertently striking the Captain with a cone of cold wand!
