Description
A long, slender pantherlike figure draped in shadows for clothes and
darkness for fur is here before you. His ebony filled eyes have no light
to them, neither life nor reflection. Where he is not cloaked in armor, a
smooth layer of obsidian shorthair spills out like water into a black
ocean of dark mass. A menacing look seems chiseled into his facial
features, with larger than average fangs protruding from a an angry
looking mug. Two blood stripes are drawn diagonally across the eyebrow
from forehead to cheek, a red hue now darkening into black. Even his
fangs and claws have taken on the color of death, visibly caked over many
times with dried blood. His mostly soft armored clothing has clearly been
picked optimize his speed and mobility, and they all possess the same
cloak of darkness as his fur. The dark hilt of a weapon can be barely
seen poking through his cloak and belt with the number thirteen etched
into it if you look close enough. If there are any other weapon on him,
then he has done well to keep them very well concealed.
Role
Shadow and Death
Added Tue Feb 18 13:31:27 2020 at level 1:
When I was born I was alone. I don't remember much, be it a dark spot in my
consciousness or the pitch black that is my first memory, but I do know that I
was alone. My only friend was the Shadow, and good ones we became.
Eventually as I grew into a young kit I found Light. I hated it, and immediately
recognized itas my enemy. For you see, without Light, Shadows "don't exist".
But the existence of Shadow became a way of life for me in the Light, and so I
used both to my advantage.
Finding the good in the bad became an important lesson for me. Because of
my childhood, I was always different than the rest of the Lightborn. But being
Shadowborn gave me my own unique advantages, such as seeing better at
nightime, and being more acclimated to wild beasts and having to survive on
my own.
In what became my line of work, even Death had its upsides. It was a volatile
force with many uses, and quickly became my second friend. I clung to
Shadow and Death so much that they became a part of my existence, and I
sought more of both.
The one thing the Lightwalkers were actually good for was keeping
information, and in between jobs I absorbed my fair share of it. The creation
of Felar through magic. The Anti-Paladin guild's harvesting of souls. The dark
arts of assassination. The summoning and conjuring of creatures from the
Shadow Plane. The Eternal Night. Any and everything to deal with Shadow
and Death I absorbed the information as if it were food.
In the end, I am still a cat in a way, and thus a Felar of my instincts. The
assassin's guild and the preservation of the dark arts through its teachings
most embodied my existence as a felar. It also made the most sense for
someone like myself, who would rather be alone, concealed in the shadows,
planning my next hunt.
Now I just needed to seek out Scion. From what I know, getting closer to them
would be like getting closer to Shadow itself, and that intrigues me. Plus the
Eternal Night sounds like the only place I've ever considered calling Home ever
since I left the Dark. Maybe, with any luck, I coud become an actual Shadow.
But the most important part is that they are trying to create a world that I want
to live in, and I must be a part of its creation.
So I say hello to you, Light, as a formal introduction to your demise.
Sincerely,
Shadow
Shadows Deeper (Story Recap)
Added Sun Mar 1 15:08:50 2020 at level 46:
-After travelling with Ziviriz for some time (spent some good time in Organia)
Shorokeshi reached his 35th title, and assassinated the Minotaur he once
grouped with, before taking shot at Ziviriz. He lost, and was left nearly naked
as the Drow took offense to the "betrayal". Later on, Shorokeshi would find
himself in the Elven Vaults, snuck up on by Nossos and Ziviriz. In due time, the
Commander would "accidentally" fall upon Shorokeshi's sword, and drop to
the ground in a pile of death. The favor of stripping the corpse was returned
and the war with the village had begun. After being ambushed by Nossos,
Cushixicci, and Cabessudo, he pledged, beyond being a Scion, to erase the
Village and the Fortress from Thera.
-Though not giving up his Scion pledge yet, this was the first time Shorokeshi
had made a definitive enemy. So far he has done a good job of keeping his
pledge to Scion a secret, though now that he has hit his 46th title, he sees less
value in "playing friends" with everybody, and more value in perfecting the
craft of Shadow and Death. Perhaps it was the trip through Organia, realizing
that the Dreams presented there, as he understood them, were much different
than his own dreams. Even the darkness at the end of the tunnel lead into a
bright star lit throne. What Shorokeshi wanted was darkness. Pure darkness.
-Questions from Narra and Morius also opened Shorokeshi's eyes. Besides his
one goal, what else was he good for? What was his purpose? He found hmself
self reflecting. He wasn't running from his magic ancestry like the Ragers. He's
not trying to have power over anyone like the Empire. He's not trying to change
the way people think and act like many others. His goal is both much bigger and
much simpler. But again, what else did he want? Shorokeshi decided he would
begin new research into things that interested him. The assassin dark arts. The
origin, nature, and different functions of Shadow. He now wants to find a way to
harness the power of Shadow beyond just hiding, to bring him closer to the
home he wants on Thera. What paths/secrets will open up to him in the future?
Personality Checklist
Added Sun Mar 1 15:10:51 2020 at level 46:
-Does NOT like "Light". Will try to stay out of "bright" places if he doesn't have to
be and will often complain about it if he does have to be there, or comment how
bright someone is if they're gear is too glow heavy.
-Doesn't like gear that "glows" or "hums". He will not wear them himself, or even
use potions that have those effects, and will remove them from the corpses of his
enemies.
-Has a personal grudge against Ziviriz, and hates Ragers passionately.
-Will slowly but most surely begin shedding some "allies". Until now the Tribunal,
Empire, and even some Maran and Ragers had been either allies or at a agreed to
a truce. As he gets closer to the Chasm and his research continues, he will care less
and less about these bonds.
-Will speak less as he begins to "become Shadow itself". "Even the Cloak of Night
has a hum in that twisted dream" he thought to himself, confirming to him that
he was on the right path.
-Plans on taking down Lyrentia instead of Balshalmus (was sent on a misson by
Morius to kill someone he cannot now) and offer his corpse to Morius as the first
step into the Chasm. After trying to kill each other Shorokeshi and Lyrentia came to
a truce, which now plays into his needing less allies, be they Scion or not.
-Has found interest in the religion of Rahsael. Believes the many losses or havenots
of his childhood coincide with what Rahsael teaches. Definitely all of the loss,
including the loss of his gear to Ziviriz, had made him both stronger and smarter.
And soon he will start teaching that lesson to others.
Shorokeshi of the Chasm

"... a shame about Lyrentia. Ironic. Her death was my ticket. My plan
worked. More than I knew. Everybody was surprised. Most allies are gone
now. A few remain. Mortavala. The Emperor is lying, but I'm close enough.
Maybe soon he's next. Scion is a great place. I was right. Shadow and
Death. Darkness and Silence. These are paths to the Night. I can learn
from these Ccul'Gra. And Narra and Morius. I'm learning. Lately I smell
their fear. I hear their death cries while alive. Empathy. Mind reading.
I'm getting closer. I must keep practicing. All pieces of the puzzle.
Together the Night comes..."
Shorokeshi slips into a deep trance and begins meditating next to his
summoned Nightwalker. His goal is to become closer to the creatures of
shadow through emulation and empathy. After studying the texts about
Ccul'Gra in the Chasm he begins to take the things he knew more
seriously. He grows in both appearance and maturity.
