Description
As the shadow's around this man disperse, eyes glowing with a demonic
fire stop you dead in your tracks. He stands taller than most half-drow,
definitely over 6 feet, with large, muscular arms. As the shadows
completely disperse, long silvery hair falls down his back, with pointed
ears rising out of the silvery blanket atop his head. Emanating a sickly
green aura, letters upon his forehead change from common to some ancient
runes, spelling "Yznannifellil". Beneath his armor, you notice dark red
clothing, covering his whole body, up to the bottom of his neck. The
shadows begin to cloud your vision again, and you realize they are
escaping from this man, cloaking him in a shadowy cover. When the
shadows begin to wane again, you think you can make out a smokey cloak
covering his armor, but then you realize that he wears a cloak of pure
shadow. Contradictory to the pure evil this man gives off, he wears a
small silver locket around his neck, and you cannot make out the
inscription, as it has been scratched off and replaced with a single
word, "Vengeance".

A small half-drow strode down the dirt road of the small village he lived
in, a smile going from ear to ear. He was so happy to finally come home
to his wife after a long days work as a blacksmith for the tiny village.
Shougrah opened the door to his house, and his wife immediately jumped
into his waiting arms. Shougrah kissed his human wife, and they went and
sat down at dinner together. By the time the two went to bed, Shougrah
could think of no better life than being with his wife every day, and he
went to bed with pleasant dreams of the night's events.
Shougrah was suddenly awakened in the middle of night by sounds of
fighting outside. He quickly jumped up, and made sure his wife was up
before he got dressed. He charged through his front door, sword in hand,
ready to fight the invaders. He was quickly dismayed for he had no hope
against the might of the Empire coming down upon this small village. His
red eyes stared in disbelief at a street full of his friend's and
neighbor's bodies. In a heartbeat, he was inside, getting his wife ready
to leave, at that very moment. They grabbed a very small amount of food,
and set off into the wilderness together.

Weeks after the invasion of the Empire, Shougrah and his wife were still
trekking through the wilderness, purposefully staying away from roads.
Shougrah had just started a fire, and was cooking some venison he had
just gotten ready, and his wife was sitting next to him, just glad to be
with him.
"What are we going to do?" She asked him.
"I think our best course of action is to head towards this Fortress of
Light." Shougrah replied. "I will join their ranks as a squire, that I
may learn to protect you, my darling."
she grabbed his arm and held it tight, "Will they keep us safe?"
"They must, we will ask for a place inside their walls, that you may be
safe." He sternly replied. Shougrah turned to her, and smiled, but that
was quickly gone, when he saw movement out of the corner of his eye. He
jumped up, sword in hand, when three imperials came upon him. He thought
he was dead for sure, until he felt himself paralyzed. Just then, a
dark-elf popped into view, cackling.
"Now he can watch, make him suffer!" The dark-elf exclaimed. The
Imperials roughly handled his wife, raped her, and brutally tortured and
murdered her, and Shougrah could not even close his eyes. They then left
him lying in the wilds, left for dead. As Shougrah was lying there, the
single thought on his mind, the one and only thing that kept him alive,
was the thought of revenge.
Vengeance!

Shougrah the half-drow plays through a multitude of practice drills with
his weapon, training for that day when he would have his revenge. His
eyes burned with anger and passion, his movements displayed his grace and
commitment, and his grunts and speed belied his aggression. Suddenly,
Shougrah heard a dark voice beckoning to him. He resisted at first,
knowing this to be something otherworldl, but he could not resist the
call of revenge. The call played upon his feelings, promising him the
power to avenge his wife, to call to justice those that so savagely
wronged her. The voice led him to a cave, and by this time, Shougrah
strode in with full confidence. As he explored deeper into the cave, he
came upon an image that actually did frighten him, a large Demon, it's
eyes glowing with an orange fire.
"So, you have come!" the demon bellowed, shaking the cavern.
"What does the likes of you want from me!" Shougrah shouted back.
"I want nothing, except to aid you in destroying your foes." The demon
replied, a grin upon his lips, if they could be called lips.
After a long internal battle, Shougrah finally agreed to allow the demon
to help him, his lust for vengeance overweighing his good judgement.
Suddenly, his body was wracked with intense pain. The Demon only laughed
at him. It seemed like days, the pain was so unbearable, but then it was
gone. Shougrah looked around, and the Semon was gone, yet he
felt...different. He knew almost instantly.
"What is your name?" Shougrah asked what seemed like himself.
"Yznannifellil." Shougrah then said, with an otherworldly gurgle to it.
"Then we are Shougrah Yznannifellil from now on." Shougrah said with a
grin, feeling his otherworldly powers.
