Description

Thin, golden braids are fastened artfully atop this elven woman's head, forming a crown and net of hair around the remainder of her long, wavy locks. Her face is well-shaped, with high cheekbones and large, almond shaped eyes, which, while pale blue in color, look radiant against her fair skin. You see the early signs of graceful aging, in the delicate creases that are now visible at the outer edges of her mouth and eyes. Though her voice is clear and powerful, she sings still with the sweet spirit of youth. She moves casually, each step inherently graceful yet you sense a strength and purpose behind her actions. On the pale skin of her inner right wrist, you see a brilliant purple and black lotus.

Role

Life up to middle-age

Added Thu Apr 5 12:59:20 2007 at level 51:
After spending time with the Lady Rayihn, Siladhiele was blessed with the
mark of the purple lotus. It was likely the most important event in her
life and has brought about a marked change in her approach to experiencing
love. Up until that point, she was content to dream about a man she never
saw, but truly loved. They only saw eachother every half century or so,
but in her heart, she wanted no one else. After she was marked, she tracked
him down and tasted her first kiss, then let him go, granting herself
permission to find a love that would be returned.

She spent the next few months working on the statue of Rayihn that was
commissioned by Mendecirith, prior to her death. When it was completed
to her satisfaction, she delievered it to the Lady and focused her
attention again on the Inn. In doing so, she found herself becoming
closer to Frajalar, who previously, had annoyed her to no end, with his
constant jokes and satirical outlook on life. Now, the jokes made her
laugh and she was able to see past the negativity and appreciate his
sense of humor and the positive contributions he'd made to the Heralds.

This is important, because several months later, he proposed marriage.
He got down on his knees and with the staff of domination, asked her to
rule his heart. How could she refuse? She didn't. Within hours of that
proposal, they were partners, not only in marriage, but also in the
leadership of the Eternal Star. There are still times when they disagree.
Siladhiele enjoys their arguments and more so, their resolutions. In all,
it is a good relationship, one that she is very content to be part of.

Little odds and ends:

The Lady Muse was disappointed with Theroc's telling of Her tale and made
it clear to Siladhiele that this was unacceptable. With Theroc's permission,
she completely rewrote the historical piece and returned it to Theroc. He
told her, several weeks later, that the Muse had not said a word, so Sil
is convinced that it was accepted as written. Theroc has entered it as a
Lyceum submission, with Siladhiele's agreement that his name would be the
only name credited for the piece.

A few weeks ago, she also came across a man in the Lyceum. Though she only
caught a single glance of him, she was present as his disembodied voice spoke
with the heat of the desert. He spoke of being a humble servant of the Light,
and made mention of a war to come, and our standing on the brink of history.
With that, he requested a copy of every single manuscript in the building. It
took several days to complete, but when they were done, the man returned to
gather the manuscripts and had a long conversation with Yikoti. She hasn't
learned anything more than his name, which she's promised not to repeat.

Her life progresses

Added Tue Feb 27 16:54:11 2007 at level 51:
The following years progressed swiftly for Siladhiele. Having found her
place among the Heralds, she pursued her other goals, while doing what she
could to promote the Eternal Star by holding art and prose competitions.
She thrived among the guests at the Inn and made several dear friends, who
mean the world to her. At one point, she even found the Lady Rayihn.

During her brief visit with the Lady at Her bathhouse, Siladhiele learned
the story of her Goddess' life and was inspired to grow in the faith, to
emulate the strength of spirit she found in Rayihn. While she continues
to chase this goal and live this life, she's yet to prove herself to the
Goddess of Sea and Storm, as sge's never seen Her again.

Siladhiele has also spent some time with Iunna and is very fond of the
Goddess. She's learned much from Her about being a Herald. Recently, the
High Herald, Zaphoedine, left the Inn to return to her wild roots, and Iunna
offered the position to Siladhiele. She is honored beyond words and has
vowed to maintain the high standards Zaphoedine worked towards for so long.
While the first couple of weeks were difficult, she is growing more comfortable
in her new role and is finally able to relax and enjoy herself again.

On a darker note, the Nightborn, Dark Queen, Eshval has brought Siladhiele
to visit Her place of worship on more than one occasion. Initially, Siladhiele
thought the Vampyre's interest was focused on her, but after time, she realized
that She wanted Her story told and that was the seeming extent of Her desire to
interact with the High Herald. Despite that, Siladhiele is terrified of the
Nightborn and is glad to go relatively unnoticed in Her dark eyes.

Herald/Rayihn

Added Tue Jan 23 22:54:18 2007 at level 16:
After a long, enjoyable conversation with the High Herald, Zaphoedine,
Siladhiele was welcomed as a member of the Heralds. That goal fulfilled,
she will strive to fit in and excel in her new home. She will also
pursue her dream of making herself known to the Lady Rayihn and gaining
acceptance in the eyes of the Goddess.

Becoming an adult, leaving Darsylon, Herald aspirations

Added Tue Jan 23 10:53:34 2007 at level 16:
Siladhiele's voice has always been angellic and her new elven parents
recognized her potential within days of her arrival in their home. As
she grew, they began the process of her enrollment in the Darsylon bard
guild. She was accepted immediately, after a beautiful audition, in
which she earned the respect and admiration of her guild elders. She
threw herself into her studies with unbridled passion and she felt as
though she belonged to a small piece of the greater good. Life was
perfect for Siladhiele.

As one would expect, the Heralds of the Eternal Star were mentioned in
many class discussions in the guild. The men and women of this esteemed
cabal were studied at some length, being the catalysts for advancement in
the world of entertainment, which is a bard's fare. Siladhiele enjoyed
these stories and through the years, developed a desire to be a part of
history in the making, by seeking out the Heralds at some point in her
life.

As in many cultures, the coming of maturity in the elven nation meant
that Siladhiele must leave Darsylon to learn the ways of the wider world.
With promises of frequent visits, she left to pursue her goals, which
included making friends and allies, exploring the vast expanse of Thera,
and joining the Heralds.

Darsylon - new home

Added Fri Jan 19 17:05:51 2007 at level 15:
The road to Darsylon was long, but it was a journey that Siladhiele would
never forget. Lyvaeria had graciously offered to escort the young girl to
the home of the High Elves. In those days of travel, Siladhiele learned
more about her people than her curious mind had even considered. She stored
every piece of information like a squirrel harvesting nuts for winter. The
older woman's company was pleasurable and she bonded with her quickly. When
at long last, they came into the Vale, Siladhiele was sorry to part ways.

She found her new home near the Palace, in a thatched little building in the
tops of the trees. What a different world this was! She was welcomed with
open arms by a married elven couple who had no children of their own. They
raised her as if she had always been theirs. They showered her with love and
she flourished, growing into an exceptional young woman with great potential.

Finding the elves

Added Fri Jan 19 16:51:28 2007 at level 15:
Good fortune, as was her want in life, led her to a bustling, goodly place
called Voralian City. She didn't know exactly what direction she walked,
but she guessed it had been east, through a small forest and some rocky
plains. When she arrived, she was filty and ragged, despite her efforts
to remain presentable. Her eyes widened with surprise as she took in the
gleaming white buildings and maze of intersecting streets and gardens. It
was like nothing she'd ever imagined. And people threw money at her! The
look on their faces was nothing short of pity, however, and Siladhiele did
not care a lick for pity. She searched the city for a place to wash and
did her best to clean herself up.

She sang to herself as she washed the dirt from her hands and face, her
voice lifted to the heavens. She scrubbed until her skin was pink before
she was satisfied. When she looked up, she was astonished to find that a
crowd of people stood watching her, listening to her song. One of them
looked strangely familiar to her. An awkward silence passed as she stared
across the way, into almond shaped eyes, so like her own.

Her heart pounded with recognition, though she'd never seen the woman before.
She was an elf, a living, breathing elf! Just like she was! A smile crossed
the woman's face and she moved forward, so gracefully that Siladhiele didn't
think her feet even touched the ground. Without a moment's hesitation, she
fell into the familiar, but not familiar, arms. Long, delicate fingers
stroked her hair, comforting her and to her horror, she began to cry. She
was not alone. And never would be again.

A human upbringing

Added Fri Jan 19 15:56:32 2007 at level 15:
"What are we going to do with her?" he said with an exasperated sigh, looking
down at the pointy-earred baby in his wife's arms. It looked so... alien.
Not at all like his other children. He was afraid that it's presence in his
home would be not only a financial burden, but an unnecessary stress on his
already troubled marriage. The look in Jillian's eyes pained him, she wanted
to keep it, he knew. But they just couldn't. He would take it to the Vale
and stash it in an oak, those tree-hugging fairies would be bound to find it.
There would be no harm in that, would there? He shook the thoughts from his
head and gazed again at his wife, looking so content and peaceful with the
pale, hairless little creature snuggled to her breast. She swayed from side
to side and cooed, poking its impish little nose with her fingertip, the way
she'd done when his own babies were young. "Maybe... this is what we need"
he thought.

*** Ten years later ***
Life had improved dramatically after this graceful little person came into
their home. Jillian, who had been so dispondant after thier own children
came of age and left to find their own way in the world, was filled with
joy again. She was born to be a mother, he thought, as he watched her now
with the tiny wisp of a girl. They were in the small kitchen, kneading
dough for bread, and each of them had traces of flour on their faces. He
smiled, his own heart surprisingly at peace with this addition to his family.
He was still incredulous at her rate of growth. A full decade had past since
he'd found her bundled in that basket by the side of the road and she still
was smaller than his boys were as toddlers. She was remarkably bright and
wise beyond her years, but she reminded him of an oversized porcelain doll.
She was definitely one of the high elves. He wondered often what happened
to her parents, but quickly put it out of his mind, each time, reminding
himself that "they" were her parents now.

And so, the years past. Siladhiele grew in an environment of peace and
unconditional love. She never doubted that she belonged with this man and
woman, though it was obvious to her, at a young age, that she was not one
of them. She never questioned them about her past, out of respect for
their acceptance of her. And when they died, within months of eachother,
she lay them to rest by the stream behind their quaint little house, not
knowing from whence she came or where she would go next. She had been
with them for nearly forty years. Half of their lives measured but a
heartbeat to her own. Still very young and inexperienced, she left the
only home she'd ever known and set out to find her way.
