Description

Before you lingers the lithe form of an elven female. Her ethereally smooth, but somewhat child-like, features hold a general beauty to them that reminds you of any other elf. It's not until she moves with a disciplined purposeful sway, that you see how seductive she could be. About her thin frame, is draped the robe of a mage. A piece of ribbon-like silk holds the robe in about her hips, and accentuating the curve of her body. Her long blond hair trails down her back with only a loose ribbon that keeps it behind her ears, away from her face. She wears only a little makeup, black lines curving away from her eyes at the sides make her face look wider than it might otherwise and encourage you to make eye contact.

Role

The progression of her Condition, and her relationship with her elven kin

Added Sun Feb 3 05:46:41 2008 at level 51:
Over hundreds of years, Siphana has learned to control her inner demons. Few
remember the strange, out-of-control woman she once was and upon her now is a
great pressure to remain an unbroken elven example. Taking her place as a
Scribe, lost souls such as Vergat, a tortured vagrant on the streets of
Hamsah, have driven her to help fight for the souls of those who have fallen
from grace. The passions and distractions of Thera have pulled the whispers
further and further from her ears. There are still quiet moments, when they
intrude, but Siphana has learned to actively fight and control whatever
strange desires they try to arouse in her. Her scrying ability has reached a
peek and the ability to move her body and soul around Thera is unparalleled.
Unfortunately, this is having unforeseen affects upon her already disjointed
life. Born Ghost-touched, her spirit will always be slightly misaligned from
her body. Experiments in Astral Projection have begun to aggravate her
condition, giving opportunity for more maladies and ability to arise. As her
spirit distances itself from her body, she will experience emotionless
moments that can be likened to those of her servitors (who have no soul).
With no direction, her body will experience a strange free-floating moment
where, without her spirit, it lacks all morality, meaning and strength. With
her career in the Fortress progressing with such success it is hard to tell
how this will effect it only the response of her friends and how they
help her fight it will tell that story.

Although Siphana controls her condition, and has grown confident (and even
more at home) amongst her Elven kin she still feels a great residual
shame inside from her earlier years. The Lesser races might still believe her
condition some form of weakness and to bring down the Elves image of
perfection would pull down much of what she believes her race is. In her own
personal fight to maintain what she believes is the 'perfect elven example',
she is attempting to push her culture onto herself and those around her more.
What direction this takes, we'll see. But be ready for wine tasting sessions
and aloofness.

Siphana's last name, and why she hides it.

Added Mon Jan 7 00:28:16 2008 at level 22:
Siphana refuses to disclose her house name, Aye'lya Ti'linathas,
(Daughter of Ti'linathas) to avoid embarassing her family. She is well
aware of the effect her odd perception of voices and noise from beyond
causes. Paining her family with the same shame she feels daily would
be too much for her.

Siphana's birth, being Spirit-touched.

Added Mon Dec 31 11:37:08 2007 at level 3:
Siphana was born to an ambassador's wife, while attempting to open trade
links with the wood-elves that haunt near the Emerald Forest. An unfortunate
accident left her mother exposed to the touch of a Ghost - not only chilling
her mother's soul with it's presence but permanently affecting the young soul
that was growing within her. This strange experience, like a kind of
low-powered possession, gifted Siphana with an unusually strong tie to the
Spirit plane. Her mother returned soon after to Darsylon and House
Ti'linathas blessed the child as one of their own. It wasn't until the voices
appeared that it became apparent Siphana wouldn't be completely unaffected by
the experience and in an attempt to cure her an exorcism was performed. The
pain it caused her suggested that there was no foreign spirit inside her -
but that her own spirit was somehow disjointed from her own body. This
strange condition meant that any kind of attempt to break her spiritual
connections would leave her effectively soulless. Dead. Faced with no other
option, House Ti'linathas secreted her away to study in seclusion for a few
hundred years in the hopes she would learn control. Although Siphana has
mastered the voices, she still struggles daily with foreign thoughts being
implanted in her mind as well as attacks on her person by what might be
considered demonic and malevolent spirits. Her underlying good intentions
remain intact throughout but those who meet her often get the feeling of her
'not all being there'. Her resolve to fight her illness is strong and full of
classical elven arrogance but even intelligent and cunning as she is she is
not always aware of the manipulation she might be under from the whispers. It
makes her a danger to herself and others, something she worries about
consistently. Looking at herself, Siphana sees someone who must remain
proudly elven but at the same time feels she shames her House, and sometimes
her race. For this reason she has very odd interactions with other elves,
often times uncomfortable exchanges.

The affects of being spirit-touched make her vulnerable to attacks on her
spirit, which will always be slightly more disjointed from her corporeal self
than normal. Although she seeks to understand her condition more - she
doesn't see any immediate reason to cure herself of it. There are advantages
to being able to touch the spirit plane so easily, such as occasional
foresight and extrasensory perception, and being able to understand them
would be an invaluable tool for the greater good. Siphana feels extreme
sympathy for any and all born 'differently' and above all seeks to find ways
to help those possessed, haunted, spiritually injured or soul-tainted.
