Description
A systematic tapping sound announces the arrival of a tiny little
svirfneblin who strides within view. Standing just above 3 feet in
height, this gray skinned svirfnebli has a methodic feel about him.
He has a narrow face with a square jaw, a well-formed nose, small
ears that press inward which compliment his hollow cheeks. Hooded
saffron yellow eyes, look as if they are analyzing every detail of
their immediate surroundings. The structure of his body is uniform
and balanced, exhibiting an equality of both strength and speed.
His head is deliberately shaven and clean, while his hygiene seems
near obsessively flawless. What articles of clothing he wears is
perfectly pressed and form fitting. Draped loosely around his neck
is a personalized checkered scarf, each block ordered by its earth
colored tones. Lastly, a particularly notable feature that appears
as a shining example to his flawless visage is a set of gold teeth
that sparkle with a mirror shine. They are bracketed and set with
two different gemstones, one being a black opal and the other an
azure diamond. Their arrangement is in an unbiased and alternating
pattern to ensure neither gemstone takes precedence over the other.

Roots:
Snerdrull's roots stem from simple beginnings. He originally
hails from Cragstone and his family were well respected in
the community. His family's knowledge in crystal formations
had helped the city thrive in trade and commerce due to their
expertise. Now it was Snerdrull's time to shine and take the
reigns with the family business. But not all things work out
the way that one might intend. You see Snerdrull was a true
expert in categorizing and labeling. He wanted to ensure he
honored and lived up to the family name of Gemeyer. However
there was one problem. Snerdrull was flawed. Anyone that had
any dealings with Snerdrull could not take him seriously when
looking at him. He suffered from an extreme malocclusion in
which his front upper teeth were just overgrown and deformed.
The kids made fun of him growing up. His brothers and sisters
made fun of him. His parents loved him, but even he knew he
was a speck or crack in the family name. He heard the whispers.
He seen the staring eyes. It made him work harder to succeed.
It drove him to be better at his craft, but no matter how hard
he worked, he was treated and judged differently. Even the
oversiders that would come to trade would deal with him with
disrespect. The dark elves mocked him. And the storm giants
pitied him. Then is was a duergar child that yelled at him and
made fun of him by calling him "Slabbiter". The pressure built
up inside him to perform and he ignored all the chastising and
ridicule.
Then one day the pressure and the built up frustration.
Released itself.
Not with anger.
Not with revenger.
Just escape.
And escaped he did.
To create a new life for himself.

--The Academy--
Snerdrull enrolled in the Academy to find away to hide or even
transform his flawed feature and mask it. He studied and studied
and was at the top of his class. He was recommended by professors
to the guild of Galadon under the tutelage of Anttiya Shello.
A caption at the bottom of the letter of recommendation reads:
"Student has displayed tendencies of extreme compulsive behavior."
"Do not downplay his behavior. Success and Failure cause issues."
--The Spire--
Snerdrull found a place that he could work full time and garner
funds that would finance his studies. Priding himself with his
keen organizational skills and orderly habits proved beneficial.
The groups Provost offered him a position as a Magistrate and
stationed him in Galadon.
Some notes in Snerdrull's personal journal reads:
"This place is a mess and dust everywhere!"
"The library has books on the floor and they are NOT categorized
properly! How do they value order when there is such chaos!"
"A tidy Spire is an organized Spire."
--The Collegio--
One day as Snerdrull was cleaning up some wax spilled from the
candles in the Magistrate's library, he noticed a rolled up and
tattered old scroll laying under one of the bookcases.
Snerdrull's eyes twitched as he panicked:
"How did I miss that raggedy old thing?"
"I bet its full of dust!"
Grabbing the scroll, Snerdrull's eyes widen as he opens it.
As the parchment unfurls, it transforms into immaculate condition.
Snerdrull leans his head forward, as a mirror image of himself
begins to take shape with silvery ink upon the paper. Save for
one missing detail.
His buck teeth were gone and a handsome and flawless little fellow
stared back with a proud smile. Excited with joy, Snerdrull noticed
a small caption in flowing script at the bottom.
"Come to the Collegio, where all things can be anew."

--Order--
Snerdrull believes that Order is a neat and tidy man's paradise and
that Chaos is a slothful fellow's path to ruin and discord. He is
driven by the notion that an organized and clean society can and
will prosper. All you have to do is eliminate the smudges.
A loud painful wail echoes from the Memorial Hall:
"Why MUST all these elves and fire giants have to touch everything!"
"There are fingerprints and smudges ALL over the seals!"
--Failures--
Snerdrull has begun to have a subtle change that is slowly evolving
and has begun with his repositioning to Seantryn Modan as a Magistrate.
These lows drive his compulsive behaviors to new levels and in a
sense help him envision things clearer.
A crumpled up paper atop a refuse pile in the Seantryn swamps reads:
"How did I end up here?"
"I was distracted. I was complacent."
"I feel dirty. I feel flawed."
"They are making fun of me now! I know it!"
"I'll dust myself off and do better."
"I have to!"
"Wait! This Seantryn Modan Badge looks used!"
--Compulsive Creations--
Snerdrull has an extreme case of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder that
drives him to correct and recreate the world around him.
Starting with himself.
He sees himself as the ugly duckling so to speak and an object of
ridicule that no one takes serious. This has laid the foundation
of madness in him to grow as his obsessions grow to make change.
Organizing and labeling the pieces of ore in the bin.
Molding and Shaping the flawed stone to perfect gems.
His achievements and failures will intertwine with both his work
and society under his watchful eye to achieve the perfectly balanced
stone upon his fingertip.
A Vision in Stone:
Added Tue Feb 25 15:10:31 2020 at level 45:
A long limestone slab carved with a relief has been hung aloft
in the gallery with thick strands of spidersilk. The relief is
cut painstakingly in a perfect rectangular shape with its outer
edges sanded and polished to a mirror shine. The corners have
been inlaid with sard stone, as the brown hue of the gems give
the red limestone and almost blood-like appearance.
The relief itself is carved in a low relief style and the images
depicted upon the carvings have been meticulously painted so to
define and accent the forms. The foremost center of the relief
draws the attention of the eye first. A beautiful woman, whose
bodily curves have been carefully chiseled to express both grace
and perfection. Her head tilts backwards looking purposely to
the sky, so to not be swayed by the happenings around her. A
blindfold, painted in an earthen tone, covers her eyes so that
even the heavens themselves that she looks towards mars not her
judgment. In her left a hand delicately carved hand wraps around
a majestic looking sword that points downward towards the lower
leftside of the relief. In her right hand, a scale set perfectly
at balance, drifts below her midriff and hangs just above a tiny
humanoid figure carved below it. The eyes draw closer to marvel
at the woman's detail, suddenly it becomes apparent that the
flowing robes around her body form a pyramidal structure which
resembles a spire.
The sword the lady holds is cut to point towards two groups of
people. No detail has been scored into their faces, but the two
opposing groups seem to depict the eternal struggle between both
the light and the dark. The gathering of the light is represented
by touches of whites, cyan, and golden paints creating a beautiful
aura around the carvings. The brood of dark is etched in misshapen
figures touched with jet black paint and swathed in streaks of
crimson.
Lastly, the figure chipped into the limestone beneath the scales
is a tiny little svirfnebli, cowled and hidden beneath his robes
as he grasps upon the feet of the woman. Chiseled into a belt
along his waist is a badge painted in the same earthen tones as
the women's blindfold. His hands rise covering his mouth as if he
is concealing something from the women with embarrassment. It soon
becomes apparent that detail on this carving is less so then the
woman's as to not to draw focus away from her to him.
Discreetly chiseled in the lower right corner is the initials:
SS
The vision haunts me so.
Does she speak to me?
Does she let me see through her eyes past the blindfold?
Can the Teacher interpret it?
But what if it is my vision?
I have been seeing it everywhere.
Is it me?
I have seen compromise with the others.
First Eithlenn with his morality.
Then Gerand with his dark desires.
Light and Dark. Their judgment is....
Compromised.
