Description
This wiry elf stands nearly seven feet in height. There is an unusual green
tint to his fair skin and blonde hair, and though he is fairly handsome, he
otherwise appears much like any other high elf you have seen. Shining, well
maintained armor covers most of his body, and a mithril claymore of equal
quality is slung on his back. His eyes are a striking blue in color. When
this elf speaks, a distinctive but hard to place accent can be discerned.
The many years have begun to weigh visibly upon this elf. He possesses a
more weathered, leathery look to him, though he still has the fair, soft skin
typical of his people. He wears determination as other men wear clothing,
appearing in every way the dauntless knight in shining armor.

Solasarath was raised in the sunless world of the so-called Lost Elven Vaults.
He was trained from childhood to be one of the Elven Knights that guard its
sterile halls from intruders. In time, this regimented training ironically
caused him to question this way of life. While he could see with his holy
sight that many of the people who tried to plunder the vaults were wicked,
others weren't. Worse, he became aware in this way that their very king had
long fallen from the inherent grace and purity of the elves.
He thought about what he had learned studying the few tomes of history that
still existed in the Vaults. Once, the purpose of the Jade Knights had been
more than simply guarding the valuables of their royal family. They had
wandered down the land helping the people and striking down evildoers.
Solosarath knew in his heart the world outside was not the wholly dangerous
place consumed by wickedness that he had been lead to believe as a child.
Still, the innocent of this world might need the aid of a Knight like those
of old. There, he might find more purpose to his life than safeguarding the
riches of his people. Leaving a note of apology to his superior, he set off
into the wider world in search of trials worthy of a Jade Knight.
A first update

Life in the world above has been strange and wonderous for Solasarath.
He has been welcomed by some and attacked by others, with the former more
surprising in some ways to him than the latter. Indeed, many did not
seem to notice the strange tint to his skin and believed him to be one of the
elves of Darsylon.
In his time above he quickly came into conflict with the Blood Tribunal.
He had always been taught to respect the forces of law and order, but the
corruption in this group eventually soured his beliefs. Too many times he
saw the Tribunal condemn goodly folk and allow the wicked to murder without
intervention. Solasarath still deeply believes in the ideals the Tribunal
is said to represent, but not this current incarnation of a lawkeeping
force. Were the Tribunal not so thick with darkness and so betraying the
spirit of the law as they are under the Provost Onirakoth, it is likely
he will cultivate a better relationship with them. Currently, he sees most
of its members as self-serving and corrupt. A possible exception to this
was Brumbalin, who he sees as relatively ineffectual, but not evil at heart.
Ironically, the times Solasarath has spent as a criminal sought after by
the surface world's law has helped him solve a major moral dilemma of his
life. He long wondered if he should seek to move against the wicked lich
king of his people, knowing that as he did so he would need to harm those
who were bound by duty to protect the king but not truly evil at heart.
While a wanted fugitive, many times he was assaulted by town guards and
or kill these guards, but sometimes, mistakes were made or he would cut
one down in self-defense before realizing who assaulted him. While his
heart grieved for those hurt, he came to realize that these men and women
had made their choice in choosing to attack him, even if they believed it
to be for good reasons. He would do his very best not to harm them, but
in the end, the choice had been theirs. The same would be true with the
guardians of the king: he would do his best not to harm them, but he
would not stay his hand from his task for fear of harming men who had
made their choice.
Now a member of the Fortress of Light, he continues to seek to uphold the
ideals of a knight and serve his Lord Shokai by hunting down the wicked
wherever he might find them.
