Description
The rough, craggy skin of this small creature has the color and texture of
chalk. The wrinkly lines of her face and lack of hair make it hard to judge
her age or gender or make sense of her expressions. Wide hips do give her a
pear shaped profile, maybe the only way she would be recognizably female. Her
eyes seem enormous. Solid black with no clear distinction between iris or
pupil.

Suippi's parents were earthshaping mages in Cragstone. That meant they
used specialized earth magic to create and repair tunnels and caverns.
She was born very sensitive to shifts in the veil. When she was a bit
older she could explain it as a sharp headache when the veil thickened
and a general kind of lethargy and achyness when it remained thick for
long. As a baby all she could do was cry inconsolably. So her parents
taught her the most basic sort of earth magic they knew, hoping that
being able to move mana through the veil would comfort her even if
she was bothered by the veil itself changing. And it worked. She
was happy to move and shape the earth when the veil was normal. And
when it thickened, instead of crying she would now focus. Her magic
became more foceful and destructive and she was filled with a baby's
pure joy at the violence of it. This caused all kinds of difficulties
when she was still small, but her parents magic could prevent or
repair the worst of it and it so clearly made her happy.
As soon as she was old enough to start going to school she insisted
on studying invocation. While she only had any feel for earth, air
fire and ooze, her affinity for those elements was overwhelming.
She was a greedy student. Devouring lessons and demanding time and
attention from teachers and progressing through all the material
the small guild in Cragstone had. And she never lost her childish
joy at the power and expressiveness of magic itself. Invocation
was naturally the most violent school of magic. Dangerous
sometimes to the mage using it and those around them. And while
it was possible to learn to control and restrain it into something
safer, Suippi flatly refused to even learn how. The arguemnts over
this with her teachers made the limitaions of the guild plain.
No one that would willingly dull their own magic like this could
really understand it. Most of what she needed to know she would
have to learn on her own.
She's interested in how Entropy chaos magic will compliment her
own reckless sort of invoking and how it can be even wilder by
thinning the veil as much as possible.

It had proven unexpectedly difficult to connect with Entropy. Pledge,
missive, and prayer recieved no answer. The one Entropy mage she
eventually met was Derka, who was exactly the kind of interesting person
Suippi hoped to find in the Tower. But as interesting as she was, she
could only really offer vague encouragement. This was all just a small
hurdle, hopefully. But for a three foot tall svirf even a small hurdle
is an ordeal.
Besides that, her own magical studies progressed smoothly. She met
different arcanes and saw their various kinds of magic up close, or in
conflict. The wonder of it all never really faded for her. And she would
engage anyone that would respond at all on the details of their magical
craft, their own path to it, the specific ways they use it or how it
might be expanded or transformed or combined into something novel. Even
someone that seemed kind of boring or unimaginative at first would
sometimes suprise with a bit of insight, so it always felt like it was
worth nudging and following up with each person she could. Her primary
interest was still the place and the moment that magic was actually
invoked or channeled or owtherwise made manifest. The enourmous
potential being closed into a single event and the feeling of reaching
out with will and body into and through the veil.

There's a raw quality to Entropy. Like it was something unfinished, even
unfinishable. Maybe just by its nature it couldn't ever settle into
anything final, whole, comprehensiable. Some mages drawn to a faction in a
state like this would be after a solution. Some elegant or totally new and
suprising way to transform, fix it. To narrow the messy into some focused
and probably more practical and useful end. To make an insturment out of
an idea. This could never be allowed, obviously.
The world is dull material. Clockwork. Mechanism. But magic can force it
into a novel configuration that the entire machine has to reorient itself
around. To give some glimpse inside and under and beyond. But magic is old
and the world is old and they're all woven together. The transformational
power of traditional magic alone can only reach so far. Chaos magic though
doesn't just twist the quality and expression of magic, but interacts in a
fundamentally different way with the material. There is real potential to
not just scratch at the surface of things but to tear all the way through.
And if the world machine can be breached, it can be broken.
This is Suippi's primary interest. To achive through her own magic and
Entropy chaos magic and veil manipulation all wound together into
something grand and terrible, the transfiguration of the world. This was
constantly there, just out of reach. Literally at her fingertips with the
working of spells, glimpsed in a moment of violence or crashing through
her like a wave when the veil shuddered as a Villager died by her art. The
font of magic seemed to flow endlessly for her with thirll and wonder and
inspiration. Even if it were a all somehow a mirage, the joy she felt at
it was real and sustaining.
