Description
Your gaze falls upon the opal skin of a drow. She is shorter than the
average dark-elf and you notice that her arms are uncharacteristically long.
Her fingertips reach just below her knees. Silvery, white hair cascades over
her shoulders. She has a lock pulled back in a tail and several other locks
are braided and adorned with trinkets carved from wood or bone. Large,
viridescent orbs peer out at the world with a frantic curiosity. A closer
look at her face reveals three jagged scars on her left side. The upper scar
starts at the bridge of her nose, missing her eye, separates her eyebrow and
disappears in the hair above her forehead. The lower two trail her jaw line
and cheek and stop where here left ear used to be. The scars are quite
healed and appear as old as her youth. Her features are hard to judge but
she doesnt appear very trustworthy.
Role
The Opportunity
Added Wed Jun 1 20:29:00 2005 at level 43:
The head seat in the Galadonian Thieves Guild has been vacant for some time.
Szyrivlyrha sees this as the perfect opportunity to secure a position where
she can better watch her back. She will also be able to fortify the guild
making it a safe haven from any that would harm her. She presses onward
never letting her fear or the uncertainty of her past get in her way.
Perhaps this will put her in a position to eliminate this Unseen threat to
her life and find the Unknown love she lost.
A Spy
Added Sun Jun 12 00:56:31 2005 at level 43:
Szyrivlyrha suspects a spy may be in her midst. She seems to have a good
relationship with all the thieves in the guild save one. Biggoroxo. He has
set himself against her and no amount of diplomacy will dissuade his
belligerence. Why? He has resorted to making up some kind of betrayal
involving Scheft and Szyrivlyrha. She is sure Biggoroxo has been sent by
Jhrazrin to spy on her. Perhaps she can use him to gain knowledge of her
enemy. Or perhaps she should eliminate him before he can report back to
Jhrazrin.
The Mystery
Added Fri Mar 25 10:30:30 2005 at level 26:
Having grown into maturity Szyrivlyrha does what she has done all her life.
Live day to day. She doesnt know WHY shes a thief she just knows she is.
She doesnt know WHY shes good at it she just is. She never really gives it
much thought except when she dreams. Almost like flashbacks to another life.
Not her own. But where do the dreams come from? And why is she having
them? Answers to these questions eluded her all her life until the day the
marks appeared. She awoke to a burning sensation on her scalp. Running her
fingers through her hair should could make out what felt to be runes of some
kind. Drow runes scarred into her scalp.
The Search for Answers
Added Wed May 25 20:36:17 2005 at level 40:
Puzzled by her newly acquired marks, Szyrivlyrha sets out to find some
answers. Why werent the marks there before now? How did they suddenly
appear? And most importantly what do they mean? Perhaps the answers to
these questions will shed some light on her elusive past. Noted for its
numerous volumes of information Szyrivlyrha starts with the Inn of the
Eternal Star.
Thinking it would be a good idea if someone has a look at the marks
Szyrivlyrha learns of a monestary high in the mountains and travels there to
seek the council of the monks. She is studied for several days before the
monks agree to its meaning. In her flesh is written "Rothe ssindossa ulu
l'qu'ellar d' Syvir'lyzin." Roughly translated "slave whore to the house of
Syvirlyzin." This discovery leads to only more questions. A slave whore?!
Did she betray her house? Was she born a slave? The monks also conclude the
marks are the result of a curse and not cut or burned into her flesh. This
at least explains why the marks appear this late in her life. Fearing the
curse Szyrivlyrha is banned from the monastery leaving with more questions
than answers.
A look into the Past

Undetered, her continuing search for answers leads her to Talshidar. She is
told a shaman there can read the thoughts of others. She tells the shaman
what she learned from the monks and in exchange for a large amount of gold he
agrees to try and read her past.
After several days of preparation the "mind-reading ritual" begins.
Szyrivlyrha lay naked on a stone altar.Numerous candles and incents not
only light the room but make it sweltering hot.Several of the Shamans
priests stand around the altar chanting. After reading some incantations and
some chanting the shaman slowly moves his hands over Szyrivlyrhas body being
careful not to touch her. Soon a vision begins to coalesce...
...War. The two most powerful Drow families have been at war for centuries to
seize control. Countless battles are fought. There are victories on both
sides but neither seems to be able to gain a suitable advantage over the
other. A spy from the Syrvir'Lyzin House learns of a birthing chamber in the
Mhrzinlobin House where they have found a way to speed up the pregnancy
process which, in the long run, will greatly increase the number of
soldiers. Princess Qirlhyra Syrvir'Lyzin, at the Queens request, coordinates
a strike to destroy the birthing chamber and capture or kill any infants that
are there. The strike is a success. The chamber is destroyed and several
hundred babies are brought back to the Syrvir'Lyzin House. As a reward for
the flawless execution of the strike the Queen gives one of the captured
infants to Qirlhyra. Qirlhyra names the child Szyrivlyrha Syrvir'Lyzin...
A look into the Past (cont)

...Decades have passed. Qirlhyra and Szyrivlyrha become lovers. Qirlhyra
treasures her above all else. Jhrazrin, a male suitor seeking Qirlhyra's
hand in marriage, is becoming frustrated that his advances are being met with
ambivalence. Aside from her love for Szyrivlyrha Qirlhyra knows that
Jhrazrin doesn't really care about her so much as he's interested in
advancing his rank in the house. Given to haste Jhrazrin confronts Qirlhyra
and demands an answer. Her answer is a definitive no. Enraged Jhrazrin
blurts out, "You would choose this whore over me?!" and backhands Szyrivlyrha
knocking her down. Outraged at such blatant disrespect the Princess bans
Jhrazrin from the House, stripes him of his rank and condemns him to live
with the orc slaves...
...Vowing revenge for the shame the Princess has cast upon him Jhrazrin decides
the best thing to do is take from Qirlhyra what she most cherishes. He
gathers a half dozen rogues, sneaks into the Syrvir'Lyzin House, kidnaps
Szyrivlyrha and flees into the Underdark. The band of rogues and their
hostage manage to evade the numerous rescue parties sent by the the Princess
for years. In order to survive they teach Szyrivlyrha to steal and send her
into svirf cities and rogue camps to steal food and jewels. Not really
caring if she returns or not but Szyrivlyrha proves to be very efficient with
the trade and is never caught. During her capture she is beaten and raped
often so that she is constantly reminded of his hatred for her and how she
ruined his life. Much to Jhrazrin's disappointment she always perserveres,
holding on to any chance that she might see Qirlhyra again. When he can no
longer stand the sight of her Jhrazrin places a curse on Szyrivlyrha erasing
her memory, ties her up and throws her into a nest of driders...
...Near death from mortal wounds and blood loss Szyrivlyrha crawls into a
crevice. Several days later a rescue party comes across her body. Badly
mutilated and missing an ear they carry her back to the Princess. Although
she is nursed back to health she has no recollection of the Princess, her
captivation, or of herself. Fearing Jhrazrin might return for his lost prize
if he finds out she's alive, her love notwithstanding, the Princess escorted
Szyrivlyrha to the surface where he might never think to look.
What do I do now?
Added Wed May 25 20:58:05 2005 at level 40:
The shaman explains everything he sees to Szyrivlyrha. Some of it makes
sense. At least she knows why she's a thief and why she takes everything she
can get her fingers on.She is at a loss as to what to do with the rest of
the information though. Would Jhrazrin find her here? Should she seek out
her lover, Qirlhyra? She obviously needs to watch her back but from who?
Anyone could be a spy or an assassin sent to kill her!
