Description
Azure eyes with the slightest shadow of red gaze upon the world from a
hawkish face. A nose arches just above his mouth that shows the subtle lines
of smiling quite often. His delicate hands are of an abnormal hue not quite
fitting to his face, with a subtle darkness too intense to be a simple tan. A
simple leather knot keeps his hair out of his eyes, trailing back into a
short tail that is sheered off between his shoulders. Leanly muscled yet
still appealing fragile, almost beautiful, he appears that he would likely be
at ease in both battle and conversation in some court.
Role
Life and Death and the conflict that connects them.

With the power of the Warrior-Goddess Iunna flowing through his veins, Taiu
sought out battle and glory and gained influence within the Empire. The High
Priestess and the Empress themselves promoted Taui. With a host of foes
arrayed against him, Taiu found no time to be bored. In fact, he found his
twin Flame of Iunna, another half-drow shaman named Ignezsarna, his
arch-rival. Days of fighting turned into an almost friendly banter, though
both most assuredly wish to slay the other for their ideals, both felt the
pleasure of battle and conflict as they fought. The feeling of pleasure as
the adrenaline flowed during their bouts, each trying desperately to kill the
other. This bond of war was expressed by both and both looked forward to
conquering the challenge before them. This is the true nature of mortals.
Seeking out war and challenges to overcome makes us feel alive. The closer
one comes to death, the more alive they are. Taiu finally begins to
understand this more deeply and just why the Warrior-Goddess and the
conflicts she enjoys brought Taiu to her.
Glory for the Empire!

Having worked hard to gather enough coin, with the aid of the
Warrior-Goddess, Taiu has approached the Empire and been granted membership.
The time of Glory is at hand and all will know his name and respect, or fear
it.
Of catnip.

Just as he was beginning to become desperate, even thinking something as
simple as an intoxicating plant might entice a God, the presence of the
Warrior-Goddess herself entered Taiu's mind. It was made known that he is
being watched and he felt more powerful for it, with a lingering sensation in
the back of his mind letting him know he is linked to his new Mistress.
Perhaps there was something to the catnip plan after all?
A glorious future.

Perhaps not altogether sane by most individuals standards due to his
upbringing, Atiau wandered aimlessly for a time considering his future paths.
One thing that was clear to him was that he was what his father made him and
he would happily tread what destiny the Gods decreed for him. His greatest
desire was to be respected for who he is. A path was before him, a path that
would lead to the highest spires of the Imperial Palace. He would become what
his father could not, the High Priest of the Imperial Forces. He would
inspire his brethren to new heights of power and glory. The fields will be
painted in crimson then paved in the purest of stones. Civilization would
grow beautiful under his loving guidance, whatever the cost, and all would
admire him for it. All he had to do was acquire the power of the Gods
themselves. After all, are we not just the playthings of the Gods there for
their amusement? Are not our destinies provided by them for us to aspire
towards? Surely Taiu could entreat one of them to grant him a small amount of
their power as boon for the entertainment he shall provide to them as he
bounds towards his ambitions. Perhaps then, even his father's ghost would be
forced to bow before him in respect...
A fierce present.

Taiu was the by-product of a senior priest of the Empire and his mother, a
half-drow slave. Life was harsh for Taiu during these years, his mother
nothing more than a whore and knowing no life other than that of a whore.
Taiu came to see women as weak things, made only for the pleasure of men. The
priest cared little for the brat he spawned and treated him as a slave for
the first tenyear of Taiu's life. It soon became apparent that Taiu had a
talent for art and the placement of symbols. The priest began using him for
his personal rites to whatever dark Gods he worshipped. While Taiu thought
little of the priest as his father, in fact a deep resentment and hatred
towards him ran deep, he learned all he could while acting as the man's
servant. He learned to read, to entreat the Gods, and even some of the
political struggles within the Palace. One day the opportunity presented
itself to alter a rite the priest was preparing just enough that it would
offend one of the less controllable dark deities. Taiu seized this
opportunity and his father suffered a painful death. Freed of the yoke of
servitude he fled the Palace little missed or cared for by the self-centered
minions who resided there.
A painful past.

"Burn her!" was shouted by the mob of simple villagers as the woman cowered
before them, cornered like a beast during a nobleman's hunt. Surely death has
come for her, she thought, for one as cursed as she must truly be hated by
the Gods. What had she done to deserve this? Beaten and violated in the dark
while on a mushroom hunting trip to the forest and begotten with child was bad
enough. Now she was assaulted by her own people for it. Fortunately for her,
a man astride a proud stallion rode in to see what the commotion was about.
He demanded of the villagers, "What is this then?" To which the village elder
responded, "Sir Inquisitor, this woman is accursed with an abomination! See
the child she has cradled to her breast? It is black of skin and tainted with
the cursed blood of the drow!" The Inquisitor looked over to see that the
elder spoke true. However, not being ignorant as the villagers, the
Inquisitor saw only gain in the exotic goods to be had. A female drow slave,
whatever the lineage and purity of parentage, could bring a good price or
even a better favor from those above him. The Inquisitor turned to the elder
and said, "Give her unto me and I will see to her demise properly." The
villagers could only grumble as their sport was taken from them north upon
the Imperial Road towards the city itself. Unfortunately for the woman, her
previous fate may have been kinder. While her child was given to the one of
the senior priests, she was kept for the personal joy of the Inquisitor who
"saved" her.
