Description

Pride seems to gush from the proud expression on this short elf's thin, angular, and pale face. His pale silver eyes are filled with what could be described as an interesting combination of compassion and disgust. His auburn hair, which may never have seen a blade in his long life, seems to cast a golden glow on his nearly translucent egg-shell colored skin.

Role

Heh.

Added Thu May 1 18:49:46 2008 at level 51:
Enough role writing for now, my laziness is catching up. I'll flesh out and bring
the role up to date over the next few days.

Not to mention the fact that while trying to put this in I have to mark and
fight criminals. I find it hard to take time off to write roles, but I will try.

Early years, and cabal choice.

Added Thu May 1 18:31:37 2008 at level 51:
He did not know about cabals when he first moved to Galadon, but one can not live
among the Lesser races without being bombarded by news of the various political
factions, and it was not long before he was trying to decide which path he should
take that would best serve his goal of helping the Lesser races.

He was so relieved to find a Firstborne at the head of two of the most obvious
choices. And both Paladins! Acvilar and Inglor.

He approached both, and asked them many questions, not least of which was
"Why did you choose this path, and not the other?"

The first he talked to, was Acvilar. And the answer he got almost convinced him
to apply to be a squire right then, as he had already slain a Fire giant and was
eligable.

The answer was something along the lines of, "Those of the younger races who need
help aren't limited to inside the city walls. Even those who live outside of the
city deserve Justice"

But, he was a Firstborne, and as such Takez is not pushed to make hasty decisions.

And so he talked to Inglor. And the answers Inglor gave to his questions set
his life path.

The main answer that touched Takez was something along the lines of "You can not
help everyone. If you try, you will die trying, and not help anyone. So how can
you decide who to help? What about helping those who have gone out of their way
to ask for help? The citizens of these cities have done that."

That answer fit in to his own personal philosophy so well, that he has shamelessly
plagiarized it on more than one occasion.

**Ooc hard truth**

To be completely honest, about half of my decision was Ic. The other half was ooc.
I saw Tribs as having far fewer people than the Fort, which was a big thing.
Another thing, to be honest, was the logs of Humbert kicking ass and taking names
and rank-sitting, on Dio's. I'm not great at pk. Never have been. There is
no way I could compete with those kinds of pure numbers of evils killed. I
realized that "evils killed" was what the Fort was about. And the realization
that I could never really be competitive at that did influence my decision somewhat.

Pre-adventuring formation.

Added Thu May 1 18:05:07 2008 at level 51:
Born into a commoner house in Darsylon, his family instilled in him a love for
his race that may or may not walk the line of irrational pride.

The two other most influential early experiences were watching the Darsylon
guard practice with their blades. And word of the outside world from the
merchants in Darsylon proper.

To Takez, the grace of the naked blades, both long and short, in perfect motion
was a perfect complement to the grace of the Elven Mind.

This is why he chose sword/dagger. He never wanted to chop like a common logger.
He never wanted to bludgeon like a blacksmith. He never wanted to lash like a
slaveowner. He never wanted to charge like a common human footsoldier with a
pike or spear. He wanted to be an Elven Warrior. And only the beauty of the
graceful blades were worthy of a Firstborne warrior.

This is not to say he would not learn cursory lessons of the use of such
primitive weapons as the hammer and the hatchet or the stick, as a warrior he
must have a basic understanding of the techniques of his foes.

The word from the outside world, however, made him fell guilty. Here he was,
enjoying the life of the Firstborne won by millions of years of his ancestor's
struggles, and out there were the Lesser races yearning for the same blessings
he took for granted.

He could not stand by and watch them struggle without aiding them.

Hence his warcry "The greater shall lift up the lesser."

He left Darsylon and his family behind, them not being supportive of his choice,
Left his family name behind (hence no lastname) and moved to Galadon to start
his journey.

Fallen Firstborne.

Added Thu May 1 18:03:39 2008 at level 51:
Fallen Firstborne.
Those elves who in his mind have abandoned the path that their ancestors completed.
The unrepentant criminals who will strike their own kind for the "freedom" to be
able to burn cities to the ground.

He hates these creatures more than any other creature in Thera. This has only been
enhanced and upheld by Macha's unanticipated and unwarranted attacks upon him while
he was helping young elves grow by slaying evil creatures. Not to mention the
attacks by the Macha/seyriannia team upon himself and others of the Light.

After a few days of these attacks, mainly by Macha, but also by Seyriannia, Takez
did something he has never done. Pursued and slain an elf.

They were assaulting the Spire. They were killing Magistrates, and trying to kill
Lightwalking magistrates in Galadon. Takez could not let this continue while he
drew breath, and so he acted.

He hates Seyriannia and Macha and other Fallen Firstborne even more for forcing him
to do this.

How he viewed the other races.

Added Thu May 1 18:00:22 2008 at level 51:
These are mostly his views when he first started adventuring. With some
notes on how his views have evolved. Not all of his changes are explained
here.

Dwarves.
He started out very standoffish to Dwarves. They aren't trying to go down
the path the Elves finished. They are on their own path. He doesn't know
where their path is leading, and didn't care. Let them go, and good
riddance to an ornery beast like race.

Since then, he has become very hot and cold about dwarves. Two of his most
trusted allies are Dwarves, even if he has trouble with their personalities
sometimes. Koolchi and Dwalin have taught him to respect the steadfastness
and humor that Dwarves can achieve.

Drow.
He tries to ignore these as much as possible. They are lost. nothing to do
about them. They are the "Damned".

Wood-elves.
His main emotion when it comes to these, is sadness. They are the "Fallen"
elves. Elves who have fallen from the Light.

He has traveled with a few, mainly to try to understand them. And actually
has some respect for those few he has traveled with that do not have anything
against civilization, seeing this as a sign that some of the Fallen elves can
be redeemed from their apostasy.

Half-elves.
He feels sorry for them much like one would feel sorry for a cripple seen
panhandling in rags. Their High blood sullied with the childlike human blood.

Half-drow.
He loves those who have overcome their Damned heritage and come to the Light.
He respects those who have overcome their Damned heritage and left the Shadow
for neutrality.
He looks at evil ones much like he looks at Drow. They are an improvement, as
even human blood is better than Drow, but only a little.

Gnomes.
He respects these, believing their keen and wise minds an indication that they
are farther down the path than any of the other Lesser races. He is constantly
confused, surprised, and almost bemused every time he re-realizes that they
have not found the Light yet. He thinks that maybe they are too stubborn yet,
like recalcitrant teenagers, who understand what it means to be an Adult, but
hold onto childish ways out of the narcissism of the young.

Svirfs.
These completely confuse him. Mostly because of Fendril who he wants desperately
to respect.

Orcs.
Well. He is an elf. What do YOU think he thinks of these filthy morons.

The rest.
Young races who need guidance and helping hands to make the right choices. And
firm hands when they fall towards darkness.

Beginning Personality, and racism.

Added Thu May 1 17:56:59 2008 at level 51:
Takez started out very, very racist based upon his upbringing.

Not unlike the very rich elite who want to help the poor inner city
minority, because the poor inner city minority can't help themselves.

It's not the downtrodden's fault they are so miserable, they can't help
it. They are just lesser by nature. Not as smart, not as brave...etc.

This is how Takez grew up looking at High elves "Firstborne" and all
of the other races.

In his view, the Firstborne finished the path to peace and as close to
mortal perfection as a mortal can get eons ago, before most of the
"lesser races" were created.

He held it his duty, almost the duty of an older brother, to help the
lesser races who were trying to take the first steps down that same path
that the Firstborne had finished long ago.

10 reasons why I waited this long to put a role in.

Added Thu May 1 17:56:20 2008 at level 51:
I've had this role in my head since before I rolled the character, but for
a number of reasons, I have not put it in till now. Here are 10 of them.

1) I'm lazy.
2) Never played an elf past lvl 25 before, and this was an experiment, so
....I didn't know if I would keep it.

3) I thought that sword/dagger wasn't really pk viable, so I didn't know if
....I had the will to play the character for long.

4) I never have been one to seek much immteraction, and I didn't think a
....role was necessary for a char that would probably not get past Magistrate.

5-10) Did I mention I'm lazy?
