Description
Large golden eyes with slitted black pupils move back and forth
scanning his surroundings. He sports a furry face of brown and
grey fur with a small black nose at the end of a short, fanged
muzzle. Large, tufted ears also of grey and brown twitch about
in an endless attempt to identify the noises about him. He is
well muscled in his arms with powerful looking legs though his
belly appears a bit distended as if he has gorged recently on
something. His fur is a mostly grey and brown with a patch here
and there of white on his underbelly. His tail has black rings
barely discernable from the dark grey of the entirety. There is
a bald spot of pink flesh at the tails tip.

Tam was born in a mountain valley in the far east across the
endless ocean. The first ones they had called themselves. His
ancestors had traveled in an exodus from the disasters behind
them, out of that bewitched tower and through the swamps south
into the mountains. Here in this cosey valley they stopped in
wooded dale surrounded by large mountains. The ancients of fire
belching smoke, ash and sometimes fire from the summit to the
west. His was a wild yet happy life in early childhood as he
roamed the forests and nearby rocks learning the land as his
elders instructed. His family was complacent. Living simply
in barter from their crafts and content. To them Tam seemed
unmanageable. Tam thought he was just what he ought, he was
wild and free.
One Day.

One day he was out on a high pass to the south when he saw
humans marching up the other side with people in chains
being prodded forward. He quickly and quietly moved to a
teetering rock above them and listened to them. An argument
was going on that seemed to be winding down. Though he could
only understand one word in three it appeared that they had
had enough of these high hills and would be returning back
with what they now had. He slipped and fell off the rock
rolling down the scree to land in a cloud of dust at one of
humans feet. It wasn't his fault really he thought. If you
stand in one place long enough your are bound to move somewhere
eventually. Within moments he was bound and trussed with a
an evil looking human leering at him in satisfaction.
The next week was a blur for the poor chap as he was trundled
down the mountain. He saw green elves, young fire giants and
humans with him. They were poked and prodded and in some cases
(Fire giants) whipped to keep moving briskly. They finally
arrived at a long sandy beach with a huge body of water
beyond anything Tam could imagine stretching out before them
from horizon to horizon. Then he saw the ship and the boats
plying their oars towards the shore and where he stood.
Soon enough they were all bundled into the boats, taken to
the ship and led down into the hold. As they were being
being chained to the lower deck he heard the strange calls
yells of a crew setting sails and tighting rope. With a
resounding clunk! the anchor came up to the stand and the
ship began moving out of the bay.
Out of good manners little will be said of the green
vomitous journey. Suffice it to say that they came to dock
in a large harbor with ships and people bustling about in
what appeared to be complete chaos. It was the first toothy
smile Tam had had for a very long time. As they touched the
dock the hatches were swung back and they came down to
bustle them out. What the slavers did not know was that
absolutely none of the potential slaves had been cowed by
their experience. As they were led up, Tam, last in line
The largest fire giant let out a roar and pounded the
first of the slavers on the head like a peg into a plank.
Chaos broke loose and before he knew it the chained were
unchained and running for the dock. Tam, last in line made
it to the hatch when it came down with a thundering crash
right behind him. A tremendous pain rippled through him
as the tip of his tail was captured. Freedom or fur. It seems
a simple choice. The forest or the tip of his tail... With
a tremendous yank he freed himself and followed those
green elves as they ran for the woods to the north. He
decided that they "looked!" like they knew where they were
going which was far more than he could say for himself
and the searing of his tail put vigor into his mad dash.
One Day part deux.

Somehow they made it out of the city leaving an impaled
fire giant on the battlements and a human from a minotaurs
hooves. He followed the elves to their home land. They
treated him well and he fed himself on the land. One day
after seeing the frowns of forebearance on the women folk
he decided he had outlived his welcome and making his
good byes and set out to seek out adventures and to play
in the ancients good graces.

Though he is a bit too curious and playful for his own
good Tam is not mean spirited. His ebullience is generally
well meant. He seeks out the wardens of the ancients to
learn all that he can of them. He has no thoughts of going
home even if he could find the way. That is behind him
as he was tolerated out of sufferance and some small sense
of family loyalty. He thinks to himself he might find a
new family instead.
Sun in the Oak Trees

Tam was out putting his nose into everything he saw all of
it new and wondrous to his mischievous eyes when the wind
spoke to him! He looked this way and looked that way. His
ears twitched seeking to spot whence the sound might have
come from, yet he found nothing. The wind bade him seek
out a temple where the Onehearts honor the ancients. With
alacrity Tam sallied forth to learn what the wind wished.
The wind spoke again! It asked him some things but he was
so flustered he could not remember of what he spoke.
Then another spoke and he saw a huge four legged creature
with a human body and a pristine face and he knew he was
speaking with an ancient. A power beyond his understanding
and what little words of common he knew, left him. He mumbled
and he sputtered when asked questions. But he managed to make
himself known to this stern being, through the rumbling
chuckle coming from deep within the ancient Tam knew he was
not unaccepted and nearly laughed out load himself in joy.
He was brought into the refuge and elation burst forth as he
met others like him who welcomed him. He has spent only
a short time in this refuge but has learned more of the
struggle and the dream. There are friends to be made and
foes to convince of the vision of Thar-Eris. And perhaps
to find a place that is wild and full of growth.
Time and Tide

It has been a wild and fur flying life until now.
Tam has tested himself against enemies and although
he as not fared so well, he has kept heart and held
firm in his beliefs. He has seen many of the tree go
to their eternal sleep with sadness yet preserveres
in his faith in the ancients of light. Although his
whiskers are not yet grey he hopes he might see that
time ahead. Yet, if his life spark is snuffed then
he will end with his conscience clear.
He has identified the spirit wind that guided him as
an ancient of the light known as Strienat. Tam is in
awe of this great power and he speaks with younglings
as he can to make them aware of the grandeur of this
power. He prays in whispers because once he prayed
aloud and was visited by a one who most certainly
had better things to do. Although he felt priveleged
by the experience he does not see himself as good
enough to warrant too much consideration. Tam lives
as he does in the idea of his understanding of
Strienats way as first described to him and asks
nothing more than to continue until his last breath.
He will continue to protect the dream of Thar-Eris and
advance its cause in whatever ways he that he can.
Tam speak.

Tam was from a small valley between the fire mountain
and the Veran swamp. He learned the language by having
illiterate fire giants and smarmy jade elves point at things
and make him say them. Because of this nearly all superflous
words such as pronouns and adjectives seem to be nonexistant
in his speech. He has lived a loners existence and has not
yet picked up nuances. He still has high hopes though. He
hopes noone dies from the experience.
