Description

A hulking form stands here before you. Large, broad shoulders spread out from the thick neck like a barren prairie. The skin itself adds to this image, it is smooth and deep red, almost maroon color, the shade of color after something has freshly burned. Jetting from this plain is a thick, tree trunk neck, topped by a grotesque head. Misplaced eyes, distinctly offset from each other, stare down at you down a severely crooked nose. His ears match this horrible mask of flesh and bone. They are slightly mangled and also off-center, with one almost near the top of the left side of the hairline, and the other slightly lower then the right eye. His mouth sags slightly on the left side, although it doesn't seem to affect his mouth movements. Spattered from his hairline up are small tuffs of hair, the crowning touch to this horrible visage. The rest of his stout, massive frame seems quite sturdy and strong, and designed for a purpose where both brute strength and speed are key.

Role

More findings, another underwater vault?

Added Sun Jan 7 17:05:40 2007 at level 51:
I haves found another stone door, a vault of sorts where the key I do nots
know its location. Powerful magic of some kind keeps me from just passing
through the door. It is located at the bottom of the Open Sea, in the Depths
near the Island of Corte, hidden among the muck der. My attempts to pry
it open has failed.

So me seekin the key to this, perhaps more treasures lie within, I do
not know. But I kin almost smell the hum of magic there and thus knowin
I must gets inside. So I search, in my dreams and awake.

Fate opening up hints of where I should lead....

Added Sun Jan 7 17:00:39 2007 at level 51:
As me quested out, I have founds some places that so burn me with desire.
My desire for Arcane Lore burns when I think of these places I have learned abouts.
First be this Nexus Vault. It is supposedly filled with treasures of all kinds,
beautifully magical, and powerful and potent enoughs to change the Veil itself.
I spokes with Nanorab pretending to be peacefully interested in visiting der, and
him told me it lies at the bottom of the Sea of Despair. He also warned me dat
if anyone attempts to break in, the Nexus will be very angry. Even more der
a village artifact in there that also dampens magic too, such great power there
and I must find it. When times become more safe, where the Nexus do nots
have magical shapeshifters of water skimming that water, I will go down there
further, and hopefully on a darks time, when no one is looking, I will break in
and take what I deserve, what is Fated for me.

I also cames across a necromancer within the watery depths. He held a vial
of pure dream. The lore of this object states its from a Dream Wrath, but what
is this Dream Wrath? How will I achieve dis? Only times will tell, but this is
also another step.

The Beginnings and Endings of Fate, Meeting...

Added Sun Jan 7 16:51:55 2007 at level 51:
The Cyclops cames to me in Dreams and whispers, and within the slumber showed me
beautiful fire giant woman, with leashed demons and devils, leashed with
magic, she said, 'You know you want these!", as demons and evils and wonderfully
vile things, all controlled by powerful magic, gave you magical trinkets of
unseen powers! I wanted it so bad, I coulds feel me addiction risin in me, drivin
toward it, so me tore off me things and dove toward her, she disappeared but
I didn't care, I was swimming in the hum of magical artifacts of untold powers
but den it was gone... And I felt wantin, my addiction I hads since young
has always been what was written in the Lexicon of Fate, it has always been
der reminding me of me true Fate, and so now I quests out, yes Order and Tribunal
be still parts of me life, but now its just an avenue, to assistin in my own
True Fate opening up to me. Dat is my unending goal nows, dat is where Fate
is leadin me.

Where has Fate pushed Taqutin?

Added Sat Nov 4 02:34:29 2006 at level 51:
First, Taqutin has developed a heavy addiction to magical effects and spells
that enhance his ability to fight, among other things. This first developed when
Fate brought him into contact with Linolaques, a transmuter of the Spire and
the Provost. Linolaques liberally layered magic on him, and what Taqutin
was able to do with that, amazed him. So he continued, religiously, asking
Linolaques for his magicks. Linolaques evolved into an immortal recently and
now Taqutin has turned to paying off mages of all sorts for their spells. When
he cannot gain them, he spends endless coin on potions and pills to sustain
his ongoing addiction.

Fate also, through a twist of persuasion and time, put Taqutin onto the
path toward the Blood Tribunal. Without knowing it, his skills at it
were exceptional, and quickly he raised through the ranks as if it was
destined. He stands now as Justiciar, a rare and honored position, and wonders
sometimes how he got there so quickly. The winds of Fate seemed to have
pushed him to this point, almost without effort on his part.

The final straw of realization about his path was this unsatisfiable desire
to possess and wield weapons of exotic and strange nature. The back of his mind
he always thought that they held a key to his existance and to how the world
will continue to unfold before him. Taqutin came to know them as "Dream Weapons"
and that he believed that they were the only true weapons that could be carried
across the barrier of the Dream and physical Reality. All other weapons faded
away, but these still held their power and force. And he believes that Fate has
led him toward service in the Blood Tribunal in preparation for service to the
Spirit and Lord of Dreams, Psuchae. That his ideal purpose is not to be
an enforcer of law in the physical land, but instead to be the harbringer of
law and order within the Land of Dreams. To be the stewart to the dreaming souls
Psuchae rules over. So he will cross over to enforce the will of Psuchae there
as well as return to this Reality to enforce law and order here to promote
tranquility, which in turn allows the masses to enter their own Dreams and be
ruled.

One specific "Dream Weapon", the Hand of Doom, was particularly attractive
to Taqutin. For it was rumored that it spoke to those who wielded it, and that
sometimes, its words were Psuchae itself, breaking through the barriers of
Dreams into the physical world to give direction and command. Thus Taqutin
sought this out, and gained it with such ease, given to him by Macgallan, an
invoker, that it was not effort, but another step along the road of Taqutin's
Fate. To have that which he sought so much to fall into his hands so easily.
And thus, with hits acquisition, he sees it as a sign to now look within and
keep his ears open to his "Dream Weapons" for what more is in store for his
ideal path...

Author's Note regarding Role and Lack of Role til now

Added Sat Nov 4 01:35:55 2006 at level 51:
The choice to not put a role in earlier was deliberate to attempt to simulate
me as a character not making the choices, but instead letting the outside
influences of Thera itself push and mold Taqutin in a direction.
In essence Fate dictated his path up to here, and in essence
Psuchae has been guiding him, even unconsciously along his very path.
I hope this clarifies, I was debating putting this in in the beginning
but chose instead to let the whole experiment make its course untainted. I apologize
if this caused any head scratching or confusion or frustration.

The Passage of Time and Fate's Hand

Added Sat Nov 4 01:18:56 2006 at level 51:
Time has passed, and through that time, Fate has woven the path of Taqutin.
He has always felt that it was not him who led him down the path, but some unquestionable
thread. And so he walked this land for quite some time, without thought or purpose
other then how his skills turned him and molded him in Thera itself. And so without
choosing an ideal or path, one chose him, and as he continued, more positions
chose him. And thus, he is what Fate dictated for him. He has been molded but
now what and where and how will he be continued to be molded? He only knows that
as he let Fate mold him into what he is now. That his path and Fate are still
not complete. As he wonders, he discovers, that the answers may now not be
here before him in the physical world, but within the darker recesses of his Dreams.
