Description

The frost giant standing before you is tall, even for his kin. He is spindly but rather muscular, and strikes a relatively noble pose, which is surprising compared to most of his brutish kin. He is garbed in simple clothes, but their quality is far above what many of his kin would wear, where they would wear simple animal pelts, this giant is garbed with the pelts of white wolves and bull elk. He peers about himself with a sort of arrogance and marches with a long, loping gait. Despite this, it is clear his appearance matters to him, as underneath the pelts his mismatched armor is all immaculately cared for. Close cut ice blue hair adorns the crown of his head, and is matched by a slightly less vibrant blue beard which contrasts neatly with his ivory skin. Haunting, savage, but intelligent eyes peer out from his countenance as he observes his surroundings.

Role

Clan Coldwrath and Casting Off Complacency

Added Mon May 4 06:02:41 2020 at level 2:
Targung Coldwrath was a nephew of the King of the Frozen Gorge, Levoyut
Coldwrath. This made him a prince, and as such, he enjoyed what luxuries life
had to offer for royalty on the Frozen Gorge.

Like many of his kin, he grew up making offerings to Jormyr, the Infinite
Helix. Praising and basking in the destructive fury of their Lord, whether it
be seeing his visage in the heavens, or simply enjoying a vicious hailstorm
they were sure that he sent.

As a nephew of the king, Targung was in line to study under Sanorl herself
and have a position of power within the clergy of the Frozen Gorge.

But unlike many of his kin, Targung was educated. It is true, many frost
giants, hell, most of the race, does not care for advancing civilization. But
royalty and privilege transcend all cultures, and so when educated travelers
were captured in the raids, Targung was one of a privileged few to be taught
by these reluctant tutors. This led Targung to see a grander plan, a greater
scheme. The savage faith of Jormyr begin to meld in Targung's mind with
aspiration. Targung began to seek to destroy the constructs and trappings
that held him back in his current situation.

He knew that he had no ascension beyond being a high ranking priest among the
devout of Jormyr. And Targung wanted more. He was not complacent to sit on
his laurels as some privileged far-off prince.

But Targung also knew that Thera was not a place where you rose above the
strife in life simply by existing. The Frost Giants did not thrive in the
Wastes because they sat in their caves and did nothing. And Targung had no
intention of doing nothing.

Impending Destruction

Added Mon May 4 06:15:00 2020 at level 2:
Targung studied and learned of the endless wars in Thera. Thera is, and had
been it seemed, in a constant state of turmoil. A ceaseless blizzard of
struggles, wars, and perils. But as Targung studied these, he saw that some
few rose above this stagnant cycle. It was in these individuals that he found
a kinship, those that became something more. Avatars, Leaders, Heroes,
Villains, and...Emperors.

Targung being a prince was naturally drawn to the idea of the Empire. Our
young Coldwrath saw the appeal of being in power, but Order and Prosperity
were not crops that grew without a storm. Targung began to believe,
fervently, that he could bring the destructive fury of Jormyr to Thera,
breaking apart Thera as it was and upsetting the ceaseless cycle which
allowed everyone to live in this endless mediocrity.

Targung intends to upset the balance of Thera, bringing War and Destruction
upon Thera with a zealotry that few have matched. And from this inevitable
storm of suffering, Targung will shape what remains in his image,
establishing a brutal dictatorship of which he is the ruler.

Some brief points on Targung's personality and actions.

Added Mon May 4 06:18:11 2020 at level 2:
*Targung speaks more eloquently than a lot of giants, but by no means is he
silver-tongued. He speaks as an educated brute, but a brute none-the-less.

*Understands how to act around royalty and egos, but possesses one himself.
Knows when to praise and be sycophantic, but does not take chastising from
superiors well. This could be trouble if he finds himself at odds with his
superiors.

*Styles himself as a war-time leader, and intends to make sure that War is
something the Empire is waging frequently when he has enough sway to do so.

Musings, past, present and current.

Added Fri May 29 23:58:09 2020 at level 51:
Targung Coldwrath has achieved many things in his life. Here are a collection
of thoughts, summaries, and future aspirations.

Jormyr comes before the Empire. The Empire is a vehicle to Targung, and while
he follows Imperial Law, he places Jormyr ahead of it. This is why Targung
has left items of power (such as the Entropy Equation) in Jormyr's shrine
instead of taking them to the Palace. He is very proud to bear Jormyr's mark,
and longs to prove himself even further in the faith, setting the mark and
the bar for future followers. His ultimate goal is to have a statue in the
cavern that will be washed away by the para-elements.

Also, his view of the Empire and his place in it has changed as he has
progressed in his faith. Targung's perfect life will lead to him creating a
strong Empire. Once the Empire is strong, fat, and overpopulated due to his
power, he will anathema himself, and end his life struggling against the very
power he spent most of his life struggling to build. Until then, he continues
to try to set himself apart and wrest control of leadership from Inaj.

He is bothered, since he cannot figure out if she lied to him about sending a
note to Gaspare about stepping down, or if the timing of the vote was simply
unfortunate. Either way, he tries to put it in the back of his mind, as
Targung believes himself the favored Divine from all the council members, and
no matter who ascends he believes he will easily become High Priest, and from
there, Emperor.

14 6 Jormyr Frost giant shaman following Jormyr wanting to smash stuff. Yeah, that's pretty much freebie empowerment.
28 15 An Immortal An Immortal added 50 exp for: For some banter with the Tara'bal when he was retrieving. Seemed appriopriately Jormyr-y.
45 34 Jormyr Hitting hero range as he came back with a good understanding of how the religion works together. Let's see what you do with it.
51 105 Jormyr Well, you probably aren't my best at preaching, but Jormyr does always favor the frost giants. Good luck keeping it!
51 113 Jormyr Curious to see how you handle a little shade thrown your way over your "Princeliness".
51 122 Nalasul You pounced on recently anathemized Bukwe in town, while Snerdrull was online, as a good Imperial should. So enjoy your lastname!
51 131 An Immortal An Immortal added 100 exp for: Had a nice chat about imperial politics when I popped by the Collegio. We've made a friendly wager on the next vote.
51 155 An Immortal An Immortal added 400 exp for: The Empire is a vehicle, and Jormyr is above Imperial Law! Drops off items of power in Jorm's shrine. If he makes the Empire strong, he'll anath himself. This sounds cool.
