Description

A brooding man is here before you, a laughter on his face as if he is laughing at death itself. He is dressed mostly in black clothing as if he is attending a funeral but it seems to be a mockery and acceptance that all creatures belong to the Unspoken One. An elaborate tattoo reveals itself on his exposed forearms as his shirt is rolled up casually past his elbows. The tattoo appears to be of bandages that one would expect to see upon a mummified ruler and the detail in these bandages makes them seem as if they are religiously branded upon his skin. With movements like a dancer and instruments in his possession it is obvious he has a background in music and artistry but his stiff back and strong muscles suggest a certain military training as well. Various weapons and armor overlay his black attire making him appear more intimidating that one would expect. He has a crooked nose and dark brown eyes that glimmer with death as he stares out into the world before him with an intention to deliver it to his lord.

This guy!

Alright, not my best joke but I was happy for the first time in as
many years. I'd finally done it and couldn't help but to laugh at
it all. Only cost me about five gold.

Five gold I would have to get back! I'd hired an assassin to kill
my idiot parents. They never cared much for me at all anyhow. They
wished I was born as a girl, probably because they thought I'd be
worth more to sell to the perverts in Hamsah. So from a young age
they dressed me in skirts and gave me dolls to play with. I hated
them with a passion and like all great passions I expressed it in
humor. I gathered my toys, flattened down my dressed and told them
many jokes to mask my depression.

All this time I dreamed about joining the Empire. A place where I
could finally become a real man and not some sorry excuse for one.
It was a hard thing to do, but I stopped scheming to get back my
five gold from the assassin and considered myself free to follow
this desire to join Imperial armies that had been growing deep in
me for many years. Five gold would be nothing compared to the vast
fortune I would accumulate in the service to the Throne.

A trinkets and more valuable treasures.

Training turned out to be a laugh in the end. I joined the bards
guild because I was not interested in getting slaughtered on the
battlefield like some idiot warrior. So while I was kicking back
and learning to play instruments and sing song happy tunes, these
warriors were out hitting each other with wooden sticks. I could
not help but think how stupid we mortals were. 

Death was our only real enemy. We either kill someone or be killed
by someone. I guess that is where my first real touch of immortal
fear came from. What could I do to these immortals that I could
never hope to control, deceive or kill? I guess I'd have to kneel.
And that's where it all started for me. I turned my attention to
the Unspoken Lord of the Empire I hoped to serve and pledged my
soul to him.

What did I care if I served him for eternity if it allowed me to
stay alive and build treasures on this land? Not one bit. I could
hardly get all this done if I was dead. I let my thoughts drift
off into the future and thought about the glorious leader I would
be. I would not demand physical riches. No, I would bargain these
riches for the true currency. I would build favor and control over
those beneath me and turn their service into something that this
Unspoken One of the Empire would truly reward me for.

I couldn't help but laugh at the two keywords in my last thought.
Reward. Me.

This guy!

Yes. One of the worst jokes yet but I was just that BORED. I had
been in the Empire for a while now, singing and swinging my way to
victory of our enemies. I had gathered riches, recruited soldiers
and paid my way into a promotion or three. Just wasn't enough for
me though, I wasn't quite the asset I needed to be to make sure of
my survival and to let the Unspoken One know I was here to serve
him and bring him souls and riches for his Wellspring.

I still feared death. That would never change. I also feared to be
another face in the armies of this Empire. I needed a plan to stand
out and be taken notice of, the longer I was just the lowly soldier
in the blade sect the higher my chances of a pointless death were.
But what could I do? I could approach the Unspoken Lord to bargain
myself to him, perhaps offer my soul for a chance at being the war
master? I mean, what good was it to have a soul without a body to
make it breathe anyhow? Probably not at all.

Or I could show my worth as a solider. Amongst all these blades 
that have smacked in the head too many times to think straight, I
had the most militant mind of them all. I could see and order the
ways of battle faster and better than any of them. I could earn my
position this way too. We could slay many enemies and collect as
many riches to tower up as high as the tower of sorcery. We could
fill the coffers and soldiers would bow before me. And above all 
of this, the Unspoken Lord would be happy with me and I might just
yet live a little while longer.

Seeing as it was my life that was gambling with both of these ideas
I think it's just the best idea to try them both. War Master, here I
come!
