Description

Long blonde hair tied into a ponytail falls out of the back of the helmet of this tall high elf. He has strong, deep green eyes that compliment the handsome features of his face. His body is lean from endless hours of training in the warrior fighting styles. His movements are quick and fluid which tells the tale about the fighting style this warrior is practiced in. His expression is always calm and serene, even in strenuous situations, as if he were in total control of his emotions and body.

Role

Role clarifications

Added Mon Sep 24 11:59:31 2007 at level 44:
It has occurred to me that I may need to clarify and justify this characters role, and why he was created the way he was. I wanted to
build this character based on two ideas. The first idea has to do with his monk background. We all know the monk stereotype of a warrior
that has trained himself to transcend beyond what seem to be mortal fighting skills. The rigorous training and meditation allow him to do
things that are almost supernatural. Furthermore, the monk role as it relates to meditation has a sight and wisdom aspect to it. His
meditation skills allow him to focus and tap into a wealth of knowledge not available to the average mortal. This enlightenment is a
source of wisdom and even revelation- which is the purpose of the sphere choice. The revelation of a certain truth about magic brings me
to the second pillar that I wanted to build this character on. I chose the Elven role because of their righteous nature and high
intelligence (for the meditations) and wanted to play along the theme that exploits the nature of beliefs.
Beliefs are tenets that people hold so close to their heart, that they know them to be true even if they are not. Beliefs are the source
of a great deal of conflict and action in the real world where both sides claim to be the righteous and their path is the just way. A good
example of this is the Crusades. Both the Christians and the Muslims believed to their very core that they were on the right side and the
other side was the wicked enemy. They believed it so much, they were willing to kill in the name of their cause. The killing was justified
because it was for the greater good. This idea of beliefs and that good and evil people alike are willing to go to extremes for something
they believe in is a major foundation for this character. Teutonium believes magic is evil, and it doesn't matter whether his belief is
actually right or wrong, what matters is that he believes them to be right. This is the nature of belief, and has caused a righteous,
goodly elf to wage war against magic, and kill mages because he believes he is serving a greater purpose.

I forgot to mention one more thing, his second weapon specialization was also a choice that is role related. It was strategic, but, also
for the martial aspect of a monks role. His body is a weapon, and he can kill with or without weapons.

A conundrum

Added Sun Aug 26 21:15:46 2007 at level 36:
While resting to the south of the High Lords Keep after a battle where he was severely out numbered, Teutonium was approached by a wizard
that even he could not see with his sharp, well trained eyes. It seemed as if the wind spoke to him, but, he knew it to be a wizard
through recognition of the incantations he was muttering. The wizard began to tell the elf that he was wearing gauntlets that were tainted
with evil and that no elf should stoop to wearing items smeared with evil. Teutonium at first demanded to know the identity of this mage,
but the magi would not reveal himself. Instead, the magi asked if Teutonium thought him a liar. Teutonium knows that his enemy is clever
and will attack him in ways other than combat, so was immediately suspicious of the wizard. Even though he knew the situation wreaked of
treachery, the mage had made a point that began to nag at him.
Should he use equipment that has an evil taint? How could he even tell? He was trained to see magic, not evil. Afterall, he fought magic
to rid the world of evil. How could he justify doing this while wearing equipment that was said to hold an evil taint. He decided that he
must meditate on the question. He went off to a secluded grove, and began his meditations to find his answer. After some time deep in a
trance like state the answer began to take form. The answer was that items and equipment is not really good or evil.
Some things are made by evil men or used for evil deeds and that residue is left on the equipment, which some claim that they can see.
However, material things are only as good or as evil as those who possess and wield them. He found that even though the midnight dragon
is a creature of dark evil, wearing his hide could only cause as much evil as the wearer intended to commit. In the hands of the
righteous the equipment would be put to good use, and perhaps after time the "taint" would leave it and the residue of the righteous will
replace it.

Skulls

Added Sun Aug 26 20:41:33 2007 at level 36:
Teutonium has had a hut in the village for sometime now. His collection of mage skulls is steadily growing, which he stores on display in
his hut. He sees these skulls, as many villagers do, as trophies. However, the gray blandness of the skulls is beginning to clash with
some of Teutonium's inherent elven tendencies. Like many elves, he has a taste for things of beauty. He has decided that he needs to
take some action to turn his trophies into something that is pleasing to the eye, so that they really can be something to behold. He has
decided to look into finding ways such as casting the skulls in mithril, or other metals, and possibly even decorating with fine gems.

A religious interest

Added Thu Aug 9 23:17:21 2007 at level 25:
Teutonium has found an interest in the Lady Iunna's teachings. He is drawn to it because the teachings encourage one to know himself. This
seems to fit with Teutonium's purpose of meditation. He also feels drawn to her because of her connection with the Macalla. Teutonium has
Macalla heritage and feels many of the things he was taught by his father were passed down from his great grandfather who learned them
from the Macalla. He maybe able to find more insight into his vision and meditations from her. He will explore this further. He has found
her place of worship and will return with the hopes of an audience from the Lady herself.

A return home

Added Wed Aug 8 11:39:39 2007 at level 21:
Teutonium had spent many years wandering across Thera, training his skills and experiencing the world. His abilities had grown and he
had learned much. His meditations now took him deeper within himself as he strived to know himself and the world around him.
Tuetonium had decided it was time to return to the Jade Mountains, back to his father to find out what was to come next for him.
When he returned home he was devastated to find that his father had passed away. Upset about his fathers death and confused about where
that left him, he struggled for many days. After a week he decided to meditate on his fathers death, and at the moment he made the
decision it dawned on him. What a fool, he thought to himself, it was the most basic lesson his father had been teaching him about
meditation. He had been taught that one meditated to become one with himself, the world, and ultimately have a true understanding of
himself and his purpose. Tuetonium began to meditate, he meditated on many things, his fathers death, purpose and meaning of life, his
own personality. He meditated for days hardly stopping for food and drink when suddenly he began to see a vision take form. It was
incredibly vivid, more real than any dream he had ever had. He saw the world as if floating above it and he saw this ethereal blanket
that pulsed and grew and shrank with strength. He knew immediately this to be the Veil and he could almost sense mortals effecting the
pulses of the Veil. Then upon realization of this the vision changed. He began see times present and past, but, all people wielding magic.
The magic he saw wielded was incredible in power, but, he saw that power causing grave destruction. He saw many wizards, far too many to
count. He saw a woman, a drow woman, in a dark lair of sorts performing unspeakable atrocities on any subject she could find with her
magic, as if she were... experimenting. He saw an elven wizard become obsessed with power and drink the elixir of death and turn undead!
He then saw slightly into the future, this undead creature was assaulted by what appeared to be jade elves and actually captured.
He saw these jade elves imprison this creature in a sarcophagus and begin to stand guard on it for eternity. Jade elves! Horrified, he
thought, jade elves make their home in the mountains he was from! Tuetonium began to understand, he knew, he had achieved enlightenment
and an understanding of the world and knew his purpose now. Elves had always been protectors of the light, and fought against the dark.
He know understood that the most atrocious and extreme acts of evil are able to occur because mortals can wield magic. Evil will always
be, but, it wouldn't have the destructive capabilities without magic. He knew that if he could influence the Veil to stop the use of magic
that he could end the most perverse acts of evil the world will see.
Upon this realization the vision died, and Tuetonium opened his eyes with an assured sense of self and purpose. He left his home in the
jade mountains to walk his path.

The background of an elf

Added Mon Aug 6 21:30:52 2007 at level 16:
Tuetonium was raised by his family deep in the Jade Mountains. He has all the appearances of a high elf, however, it is not certain
if any Jade Elf blood flows through his veins. His family has lived in the Jade Mountains ever since his great grandfather settled there
which could have been as long as two millenium ago. His great grandfather was said to be a Macallan warrior monk. Many teachings were
past along to his grandfather, father and then to Tuetonium of a monk like style. The teachings have focused on meditation to know ones
self, to focus the mind, body and spirit and to become attuned with his surroundings. The meditations have instilled a sense of total
confidence in Tuetonium and a mastery of his emotions that can be seen in his dedicated training and precise fighting style. His high
intelligence and constant meditation have even led him to glimpses of enlightenment. But, what of? He isn't sure and will need to meditate
more on it. His father recently sent him away from the jade mountains to experience the world, hone his skills, and meditate on what he
has seen and learned.

25 45 Daevryn When I see this name, I wonder if the Germans discovered a new element.
25 47 Kastellyn Has the recommendation of Bhirerzu.
27 60 Kastellyn Wants to join the Village.
29 73 Kastellyn Sent a note to Fortress asking their magi to basically just give magic up because it's evil. We'll see how he does with the whole good-aligned Villager thing. I've got high hopes!
37 125 An Immortal An Immortal added 500 exp for: Role updates. Latest entry is on why he's ok with wearing "evil" equipment so long as it isn't magical.
38 131 An Immortal An Immortal added 500 exp for: Bone devil fun.
42 154 Kastellyn Wants to participate in the Rites, but will be out of town.
42 164 An Immortal An Immortal added 1250 exp for: Great showing in the Rites!
42 166 Kastellyn Bloodthirst is a good option. But it's not your only option, man! You're allowed to retreat, trust me.
42 172 An Immortal An Immortal added 500 exp for: Good conversation about courage, and how honor and pride are implicit upon the tablet. Granted, the reasons behind the conversation weren't worth an XP add, but his reactions and RP at the end were.
44 198 An Immortal An Immortal added 500 exp for: Nice retrieval where he killed a hero muter.
44 204 Daevryn If you're curious, I still can't get past the name. That is all.
44 214 Daevryn Role update tries to explain him a bit more, unfortunately, it doesn't fit into a good alignment. He thinks magic is evil and will do anything to fight it, and that's good since it's evil. Sorry, buddy. You were looking fo
44 214 Daevryn the neutral alignment. You've described a very nice role that isn't good.
47 260 Ysaloerye Completed a con-quest and was hanging on to life by an arse-hair since age dropped his con. Given 4 con for getting all the items and a decent dragon skull.
47 260 Ysaloerye I should add that I had to jam my boot up Eoria's and Jhuutr's backsides as they were going to raid and kill him, which would have made him deader than a dead thing.
