Description
An intoxicating scent with sinister undertones catches you long before you
can make out the figure before you. Her figure seems in direct opposition
with her mannerisms; her appearance seems youthful and strikingly beautiful.
Her features are in appearance from high cheek-bones to eyes so angularthey
appear feral in nature. Eyes of emerald appear to be more like a sickly
green, the longer you regard them. Long hair like wispy silk, is bound into
braids that cascade down her back resting at the small of her back. They are
adorned with jewelry of gold and bones that cackle with glee at any sign of
movement. Her ebony skin is taut and blemish free, exuding a presence of
exuberance and vitality-that oddly enough sends a chill in the air. Pristine
teeth for a lethal smile as they peek from behind her full lips. She appears
to be one for minute details, as her nails are coated with fresh green paint
and her lips accented with a subtle crimson.
Even though she is lithe, her body comes across as strong, graceful, and well
proportioned. As if the heavens took their time, meticulously putting
together each feature. Almost as if she knew this herself, she carried
herself with a level of regality and grace- that winked out the presence of
any other she stood alongside. Irrespective of the differences of armor
placed upon her form, they all seemed to be well taken care of and oiled to a
sheen. She took great care and pride in her appearance, and this showed. Be
it a dried animal hide, or fine silks she wore them all well- in a way only
she knew how.
Role
Headmistress of Balator Orphanage

Headmistress of Balator Orphanage
It had a nice ring to it. However, it fell short in the grand scheme of
things for Ophelia. She herself was once an orphan who dared to dream. A
child who lost fragments of her humanity with every abusive act she endured.
Looking back on her bleak childhood did not cause her pain anymore- but
rather great elation. She had risen out of the murk and the mud- becoming
everything the now deceased headmistress told her she could not become.
Beauty? She was that and then some, her feral features adding to both her
allure and the demise of others. Letting curiosity plop them right in her
clutches.
Charisma? She had that-being an orphan gave her a lot of time to study the
mannerisms of others. As she was deemed non-existent for much of her life, it
granted her an empty canvas to paint an image of who exactly she was. She
learned of politics from the sultan politicians who seemed to fancy the young
flesh of forgotten children. She read voraciously- recognizing that wit and
intellect was her true key to freedom and power.
Faith? Her faith was steadfast and her fervor unyielding. She understood her
place in the world and the place of others both beneath and above her. They
all played their part. The difference between her and many of them was that
her role was ever changing-as her appetite for power and beauty in
civilization grew. Whispers permeated through Balator coming from the
directions of the imperial lands. A new God- who understood the intricacies
of wit, charisma, and the importance of sociopolitical structures. Perhaps
this God was destined for her as much as she was for them. Only time would
tell-
Fever, Lethargy, Malaise, Dehydration: The symptoms of a castor oil seed.
Added Thu Dec 15 13:53:04 2022 at level 13:
Her plan had been working seamlessly for years, she recognized the importance
that orphans played in their position and she in hers. No one could quite
take care of them how she could- so when others werent looking she crushed
a bit of a castor seed and gave it to each child with their dinner of
porridge. Tevophelia was very well studied in the art of poison making,
perhaps the only thing her mother taught her before dumping her at an
orphanage doorsteps- in pursuit of her own quest for power.
The symptoms were mild enough to not bring about harrowing concern:
dehydration, fever, chills, lethargy. Symptoms she could easily deal with, a
few deaths were also necessary not just for her own vanity (sometimes she
went too far to see how much the kids needed her), but to ensure that Hamsah
understood why funding the orphanage was important. If they wished to keep
such illnesses from permeating into their own walls- it was good to send
funding to the orphanage to be able to deal with it. This plan was enough to
hold Tevophelias growing hunger for power at bay for years, however
something began to change in her. She began to plot what would happen if her
talents and methods were brought to a larger stage. With her political
knowledge, wit, and control of poisons and venom she could align with
stronger powers that be.
Precision and Clarity

There was an important lesson to be learned from a mistake Tevophelia made
whilst talking to Lord Rillan. All words have meaning; and if becoming a
master rhetorician was a goal of hers, throwing around words haphazardly
would be more damaging than allowing silence to fill the space. Tevophelia
rarely experienced shame- but upon this day it hung so heavily about her it
humbled her in a way she needed. Her goal was to bear the title of High
Priestess and become a proper and true voice of her Lord Rillan.
This experience taught her a few things as she so quickly thought of tenant
five and controlling the narrative. Precision, clarity, and breath had to
accompany her detailed lexicon of words she commanded. Being quick to listen
and slow to react so that everything she states is clear with its intention
and if it requires follow up; shes thought it out so meticulously it would
be easy for her to do so. She was thankful to her Lord as he was fitting for
both her and her insatiable need for power and opulence. He did not just
challenge her to be better. He challenged her to be the best.
Hardly a small order, but one Tevophelia was prepared to rise to the occasion
and accomplish.
Pain is Power. When wielded with intention and purpose.

The presence of Lord Rillan felt like a sculptor chipping away at a prized
piece of earths bounty. Tevophelia was given this attention under the
refined, delicate, but firm care of her Patron. Not wishing her to be better,
but to be the best. Moving forward through Thera with his name, tenants, and
refined presence in mind. It was full circle for one like Tevophelia who has
lived at the feet of hopelessness and yet- not succumbed to its lulling call.
Instead she thrived. No longer for her sake but the sake of Civilization, the
sake of Order, and the Empire. She now took her position as High Priestess;
a title she did not take lightly. For not only was she to serve and protect,
teach and nurture. She was to remain a shining example of Darkness and Order.
After all, the High Priestess only kneels to the Emperors and the Lords and
Ladies of the Empire. She is the tether between the heavens, earth, and
everything in between.
Who better to fit this role than her? A once young and naive child who
recognized that there was power in words. Magic found in envisioning and
plotting. Grit in those of the working class who pull themselves up despite
the systems in place to keep them subdued. She would be a leader like her own
Lord: praising great accomplishments, redirecting slight missteps, and
swiftly reprimanding overt disregards for what our missions are. There was no
doubt in her heart that she was prepared for this new chapter she was
entering. All the struggles and internalized feelings were wielded by her
like the split maul of her Lord.
To cast Pain as a teacher upon the enemies of Order, Civilization, and the
Empire.

Crossroads: A moment of deliberation and patience.

The Prophet of the Maul has miraculous foresight, bestowed upon her senses by
her Lord Rillan. However- try as she might-she cannot see the outcome of the
fork in the road she is currently standing before. On one end there is a
position of power, ripe and for the taking. On the other hand- biding her
time continuing to mold not just the Empire but Thera writ large in the image
of darkness and order.
This would mean allowing the current Emperor to remain the figure head,
whilst still remembering that the power is all in her hands. She tired of the
Emperors nearsightedness but recognized that by leaving him in his current
position she could focus on making sure that when she took over the Throne-
there was actually an Empire worth governing. As it stood now his
nearsightedness did not just cost him an eye but also cast tendrils of
fickleness upon members of the hall; a rapid ascent followed by an even
quicker demise.
Tevophelia refused to make the same mistakes, living a life ripe with
shortsighted victories- that would keep her from what truly belonged to her.
Thera as a whole. In times of uncertainty her God Rillan was both her
compass and example. She would look towards his audience and guidance and
decide once and for all which pathway not only survived her personal needs
but the needs of those under her the most.
An introspective look at Tevophelia the Prophet of the Maul

Traits/Quirks/Influences of Tevophelia the Viperess
-Her actions and motives are never surface level or as they appear;
Tevophelia is a deeply methodical individual. She is always thinking of what
benefit you serve to her and her many conquests.
- An extremely nurturing individual to those she cares for, but her level of
care is directly influenced by what you bring to the table; whether that is
to the Empire or Civilization writ large.
- The more time she has spent with her Lord the more concise she has become
in the words she says and the power of silence.
- She is maternal to subjects under her believing in building them up but
also reprimanding and eating her own when they show failure to thrive. This
mindset was caused by her abandonment as a child and further fueled as
Headmistress who actively poisoned the children she found to be weak.
Thinking that in death and sickness they could serve a purpose to her and
Civilization writ large.
- Matriphagy- Matri *mother* Phagy *to feed on* is an act found in some
species and in particular a few spiders. You will find that Tevophelia is a
product of and exhibits these traits. To break Imperial Law or directly
oppose tenets that preserve civilization will lead to your demise by her very
own hands. She will figuratively consume you whole and ensure you rethink the
errors of your ways.
- Has zero tolerance for mediocrity and ineptitude; either rise to the
occasion or get crushed by the weight of Darkness and Order.
- You will find that she has a soft spot for those who are facilitators of
culture and art. She finds it to be the last keepsake of her humanity that
has been untainted by her insatiable need for conquest and domination. She
frequents the Inn and has made ties with a few of the Heralds for this very
reason.
-Any attack or threat on a member of the Palace, feels like a personal threat
against her. She is a vengeful woman who ensures that any of her subjects who
are wronged- get to have retribution.
-As time continues to pass Tevophelia has become more stoic, allowing her
grace and dominating nature to do most of the talking for her.
-She recognizes that her reputation often proceeds itself and soaks it in;
vanity after all is her most carnal sin.
