Description
This lean looking arial stands just about six feet. His blue black feathers,
though still distinct, are beginning to fade at the edges to a softer grey,
making him look like he's covered in a matte cloth, clear to see thought but
cutting the form a little. A razor sharp beak juts out from a narrow
predatory face, cracked and worn looking it's tip curves downward and fades
from gold to black. Bright red and gold eyes stare outwards, unblinking, and
having a look of total zealotry in them, missing nothing. Though lean his
musculature is well defined and it is clear he finds his way through battle.
As he unfolds his broad wings, to somewhere near fourteen feet, you can see
the scars of a life of warfare hidden under them, and it is clear the pain of
his life has been great. The formerly bright, shining plumage of his under
wings has given way to another matte blend of blue black, into crimson at the
edges. Taking note of the light weapons cunningly strapped to him you cannot
help but see his wickedly sharp talons.

Thirisg comes from a small family of talented stoneworkers. Raised to be
such as well, his life was filled with study and even more simple watching.
He spent much of his free time in this as well, shirking the company of
others for a quiet and observational place in his little world. All of his
views of the world are based on this time, watching others. The key parts of
his development revolve around abuse of power, broken laws serving only the
powerful, and how people maneuvered each other. They all tied together for
everyone he saw, that struggle that all people had in his home, making him
sure that the whole world had similarities though it's thinking population.
Growing quickly as his kind do, he expanded his radius and began to see the
elite about him dabble in magical cantrips. Nothing serious, but little
light shows and such to delight and entertain their other elite friends.
Though that quickly fell off, giving way to more dangerous and deadly types
of magic. Thirisg himself became such a victim once visiting a noble home,
carrying a simple delivery for the matron of the house. An heir, perhaps
fifteen, had learned something of a mind control spell, and used it to make
Thirisg do all manner of things. Dance like a marrionette, crawl like a dog,
and more sinister things. Through this all Thirisg was lucid and aware and
barely in control. That thin shread of control snapped in an instant, and
his rage overpowered the spell, racing forward like a stooped falcon he
ripped into the young noble and smashed his head in with a makeshift morning
star he somehow grabbed along his way. This was the end for him in Ayr
Trinil, then end for him as an observer.
Application

Thirisg moved down from his aerie home, and witnessed immediately that the
world was just as his home was, perhaps falling even further into magics
grasp. He moved to Galadon and saw so many different afronts to the natural
way of life that he was, as though being forced, he began to hunt those users
of magic that he could. He pledged himself to the Village of Battleragers
through his vow to Tahren and solidified his views. Magic has no place in
Thera, and he would fight them as they fought. Flighty, and deadly, and
through attrition he would see them all fall. As he moved through the world,
fighting, and watching as he does. Thirisg saw many fall in defeat, though
always attributed to physical, he could see it was spiritual. There could be
no victory in the future without giving yourself entirely to this fight. And
your soul entirely to your godHe began to seek Lord Panmorne, though he
knew little of prayer and supplication, he felt a kinship of sorts with the
old man.
The Village, Rites, and Future
Added Fri Aug 3 06:42:12 2018 at level 51:
Growing slowly and keeping careful eyes on all those around him, his views on
magic became farily clear. Those that set about to use it constantly must
fall, and those who used it as a crutch, must be argued, then shown the error
in their ways. It had been a tumultuous time of late in the Village, his
first friend Drizzo had fallen to the decay of ones soul which could strike
at us all. The Commander as well as the Drillmaster had suffered similar
fates. The Village was left adrift for some time, and with that weakness,
Enemies piled up at the gates. It seems that always when there is struggle
your enemies will know, and will surge forth, though this is not a bad thing.
like these serve to separate the wheat from the chaff, and carve
soldiers out of stone. Those that remained became so. Lord Panmorne
announced the Rites to be carried out and the whole of the village was a
buzz, Grime even was talking more often, his indominable spirit seemingly
lifted. The Rites came. Four Villagers awoke. And all excitement that had
been building seemed to drift away in a slight breeze. That was not to last
however, the four combatants showed with great spirit, and drive. This was
the dawn of a new Village, and all could feel it. At Lord Panmorne's
direction battles were had, and with the dust finally settled, Ghar was the
new Commander, Thirisg, the Drillmaster.
The first breeze.

Despite his voiced misgivings of the posting at such a young age, and with
little proof beyond dedication to merit it, Thirisg accepted the post and
adjusted accordingly to take come comfortably the mantle he now bore. His
focus adjusted from hunting exclusively to a role more based around making
sure to do his best keeping everyone alive, though that would prove difficult
given the coming days. The first few months of the new village had weighed
hard on all of the soldiers. There seemed to be new enemies at every turn,
on every path. Each day they seemed to grow stronger. Thirisg and his
bretheren perservered, fighting, training, and moving towards their greater
goal. Their bonds of war grew and little could come between them, fighting
as one now. Ghar had grown in strength, fitting well into his role as
Commander, and all looked to be turning into a new fight. From running
skirmish, to taking the initiative, and bringing battle more consistently to
their foes. Between them, Thirisg felt he had bonded with Broutgroic mostly,
and would call him brother easily.
Long Shadows, Approaching winter, and the smell of fear.

The first winds of change in the Village had blown themselves almost out,
whiping at the bare embers of the Villages fire. There were few of them when
Thirisg was pledged, and few still, though even fewer left their huts. The
battle of the soul which eats at you, fear tugging at you, and making you
slow, was eating the core of the Villagers. Little can be done with
something like that, excise it with fire, or with ruthlessness, but it can
still grow in the darkness. Ghar and Thirisg had spoken of it, and though
the Commander had a plan, it wasn't much of one. Thirisg prayed that
hurrying along inductions would help somehow. He hadn't seen his brother
Broutgroic of late either, and that ill omen was sad to behold. The Empire
had become emboldened through increased presence of Emnom, their fearsome
Mummy Lord, and they had begun to rally those who normally wouldn't walk
under imperial banner into their fold. Dark days approached. Thirisg was
prepared, and only prayed he could keep his bretheren alive through it.
Aching bellies in the depths of Winter.

Looking back it is difficult to remember a time without strife.Without
struggle for the Village, though there must have once been such a time.
Perhaps before me, before there were but four of us. I said to many of our
fallen passed, that the most powerful weapon our enemies have lives inside
our minds. It eats at us as our greatest weakness. Some it is fear of
failure, some of not being the strongest, some simply have a void inside them
that they cannot fill with any amount of blood, or gold, or thing. I wish I
could see deeper into these souls so as to rule them unfit before we must
rely on them. We count in our lists but fourteen now, and I think of those
fit to walk from their huts it's likely more like six. For them I remain
vigilant and strong. And pray for the approach of spring. I feel somedays
as though I am racing forwards without true focus, and dragging my bretheren
along behind me simply to keep them in motion. And in this I think that I
often have been unable to see my own focus because I was always looking in
the wrong direction. My focus is always, and has always been our Villagers.
To make sure they are prepared, equipped, and able to fight. In this I pray
I am successful. Though I can feel two things growing in the Village, rage,
and despair. I cannot place the genesis of them, but they must be excised.
Drillmaster, and Applicant
Added Tue Sep 4 07:58:21 2018 at level 51:
I remember once when I was younger seeing the Drillmaster at the time. I do
not remember their name anymore, and being impressed by their presence. They
stood tall and looked incredibly fierce. I wonder if I am looked upon that
way? I was an applicant for a long time, and a Villager for a short while,
and have been the Drillmaster for most of my life now. I know nothing else I
think now. I spoke with Lord Panmorne at some length of my path, and how to
continue to develop our younger warriors and have found myself at a bit of a
standstill. There is a difference between leading by action, and planning to
lead. And it is a bridge I must eventually cross should I wish to continue
progressing. In many ways I think I have never viewed myself correctly. I
tend to be overly thoughtful when asking things of my Villagers, as I feel I
must understand what I am actually asking them to do. Is it fight, or is it
die perhaps? Does that make my choices slow in coming?Or does it make me
more hesitant as a Leader. It is against my nature I think, but I have worn
the clothes well in this. I feel like I would rather race about and strike
where I must, when I must. Though what would happen then to our home. Our
lights already burn too bright and fast....
Commander, and Leader.

I have been seen fit following my tournament to become Commander. Something
I suppose I had been thinking of for some timeWhen I was younger, I had
much doubt about whether I was doing my job well or not. Or if I was indeed
the right person to fill the role of Drillmaster at all. As my years begin
to wane, I no longer suffer that inside myself.I am indeed fit to lead.
Though my experiences and such long introspection about it have certainly
made me more aware of what Leading means. I wear my burden of command with
resolve and with the strength of many trials passed. I have seen our home
begin to flourish under great strain and I can see the potential of some sort
of victory, another cusp approaching that we must be prepared for. We have
the soldiers for such challenge though, and they all have wherewithal
for what must come ahead.
