Description
Before you stands a small woman that has been swallowed in her ill fitting
attire. She has meticulously rolled up the sleeves of her robes to show her
pale sinewy arms. Her tiny hands are calloused, but her nails are well
maintained. A belt, obviously too large has been doubled looped around her
petite waist. Only a hint of a bosom can be seen in the folds of her robes.
Her wiry white and silver hair is carefully pulled back into a tight braid
down her back and is tied with blades of grass. The only expression in her
round face can be seen in the twinkle and color of her eyes as they swirl
with an array of hues from blue to violet. Her nose is small and gives her
face a child-like appearance despite her many wrinkles. Her alabaster face
is heavily creased with thought lines most likely from countless hours of
study.

Finding Upper Cragstone

The Gimonichr family was once well known as the founding family of Upper
Cragstone. Thnedro Gimonichr, a natural inventor and explorer, dug through
the first tunnels with his own hands to claim the city.To sustain their
economy he invented the spigot to fine tune their gem industry. The spigot
left the mother earth intact while still being able to harvest the gems.
Also, he patented the magma vents to bring the life sustaining heat into the
town. His own wife Traxilini, a devout priestess made her own discovery of
the sacred spring with its healing properties. The couple took their good
fortune with great dignity and thanked the Gods for blessing them. The
Gimonichr family raised ten children, five boys and five girls. The girls
followed their mother into the priest hood while the sons followed their
father as inventors and businessmen. Gimonichr a noble and proud man taught
his children qualities in his likeness.
Thnedro died peacefully in his bed of old age, while his wife passed soon
after of a broken heart. Thnedro left his vast gem fortune and businesses to
his five sons. His five daughters either left the city with their own
families or left in service to their Lords. Only his youngest son, Thnidro
left with his share of the fortune to seek out the world. The other four
sons fought with the city and fought with each other for more wealth. They
forgot their faith, their people, and their values. They could only focus on
their greed. Their people of the city quickly revolted against the family
and shunned the name of Gimonichr. The four brothers were sent to Lower
Cragstone where they were banished into the underdark.
The Return of Thnidro

Years later, Thnidro returned to his beloved city. He brought with his
mature son and wife of almost 200 years and his sons new bride. When
Thnidro announced that the last Grimonichr son had returned home, his family
was not welcomed favorable. After much dispute he was told the story of his
greedy brothers. Mortified over the event, Thnidro took the last of the
family fortune to organize a party to find his brothers. Thnidro paid
mercenaries and took with him his son as second in command to find his
brothers. For fifty years the men chased rumors and lore of the maddened
brothers, but could not find them. The party was left beaten and mutilated
from the battles on their journey. Thnidros son Trayaxxlin was the only
to return from the journey.
Upon his return Tayaxxlin had found his wife had given birth shortly after he
left to a daughter name Thnadri after her grandfather and great grandfather.
His wife had left the child with her grandmother to search for word of her
husband. His wife never returned, but rumor has it she was slain by one of
the village while aiding a magus. Thnadris grandmother had also passed of
old age, leaving the young child orphaned.
Joyous to hear news of his daughter, Tayaxxlin went to seek her. She had
been taken in by the Healer of Neutrality. He found his daughter deep in
study to become a priestess in the like of her mentor. Tayaxxlin greeted his
daughter with an open arm. At first the child shunned him, surprised by his
appearance. The stout svirfneblin had only a small stub for one arm, while
the only intact hand was missing two fingers. He wore an eye patch and was
heavily scared on the left side of his face. A wooden peg now stood where
one of his legs had been. Thnadri took in the site of him, and jumped into
his arm where she wept heavily. She looked to her mentor, her tear stained
face begging for him to be healed, but there was no help for him.
Thnadris father could not provide for the child and the family fortune had
been lost. The Grimonichr name was still shunned and young Thnadri suffered
terrible taunts from the other children. Tayaxxlin bestowed upon his
daughter the teachings passed down from his fathers father and watched her
grow into a noble young woman. Although her clothes were ragged and she was
nothing more then bones, she always held her head high. After seeing her
father, not once did she cry again. She took her fathers example
and never complained, but took everything in stride.
Leaving Cragstone

One day the Healer of Neutrality came to Thnadri and told her the time had
come for her to seek the God of her choice. She took Thnadri into a private
chamber deep within the earth. The chamber was only the raw embracing earth
with three walls vented to the steam of flowing magma. Thnadri was
instructed to sit in the middle and reflect upon herself for her cleansing.
The chamber was sealed for one week.
After the third day of only sweating and dying of thirst Thnadri began her
out of body experience. She saw deep within herself. Her powerful pride was
clearly evident through the layers of her being. Her love of the earth was
easily uncovered like any of her race. Deep within the layers she saw her
darker parts. She saw the greed she had left dormant in her youth. She
coveted the fancy clothes, object and gems of the other children. She had
buried this long ago and accepted her poverty. Now, she allowed this greed
to come to the surface.Although she would never show this characteristic
outwardly for it may show a weakness in her vast self dignity. Also she
discovered her own passion for battle. She saw her blood thirsty side to
destroy those who caused her mothers death. She had never allowed this
emotion to come forth, but now there it was a full part of her.
After a weeks time, the Healer came and opened the earth. She priestess held
the limp body of Thnadri in her arms and gave her the healing water to drink.
opened her eyes with a new glimmer to them. The Healer nodded and
explained that her student was now ready.
"You are now a true being of Neutrality, go and seek your destiny."
