Description
Before you towers a dark mountain of muscle and metal.
Bright orange hairs protrude through the joints of his
armor. Where his cracked skin is visible it is the color
or charcoal, mottled and scarred. His nose is wide and
crooked, apparently having been broken a number of times.
His calm, unblinking eyes are nearly black, and bloodshot.
He nearly shakes the ground with each heavy step, though
he carries himself with the warlike grace of one having
traversed many a battlefield.

Memories of Fire, The Summary
Added Sat Nov 10 22:36:54 2007 at level 29:
Thukorg, a warrior of a small, elder tribe of fire giants living
in a small but deep volcano not far off the southern coast of
the northern continent, joined with others in his tribe to combat
an insidious sorcerous attack against their home. Some type of
inimical ice magic was leeching, through a series of tunnels,
the heat of their environ.
After a time, the elders were able to determine that the source of
the attack was a tower on the southern continent, across a mountain
range and a vast wasteland. The war party was able to reach the
tower, but upon arrival found that they were hopelessly outmatched
by those they intended to lay seige to. Many were killed, and
Thukorg was imprisoned. For eight years, Thukorg was kept in a
prison cell woven with elemental ice. His spirit was broken. His
memory faded, and he knew only agony. He was beyond the desire to
die - he was simply... devoid.
And then one day, he looked up and found the heat of the sun beating
down upon his face. Behind him the forbidding tower stood, and before
him a swirling wall of sand and wind. He did not know how he had come
to be there, or why he had been released. Perhaps it was a trick?
Or had they sent him out here to die? For days he struggled through
the sandstorm, starving and parched. Finally, he collapsed at the
foot of a cliff having found the edge of the sandstorm. At least,
he thought, he could die in the warmth of the desert.
When he awoke again he found himself in a camp of strange humans.
They had discovered him and nursed him back to health. It seemed
they wanted information, but he did not have any. He remembered
nothing except painful memories of ice and sorrow. As he recovered
he began to fight with these men, doing so because he had no other
purpose and somehow the killing gave his spirit some release. Feeling
warm blood gush from his enemies and seeing his crimson weapons,
he felt... alive.
And then came the day when the vision gripped him as he stood among
a pile of newly created corpses. Thukorg left, then, knowing that
he must wander, alone, rediscovering himself and his true destiny.
Memories of Fire, Part III
Added Sat Nov 10 22:36:22 2007 at level 29:
Seventeen warriors and six shamans stood before the roiling chasm,
basking in the searing heat and flickering glow of the river of
magma that ran far below. Here they would receive the blessings
of Infernokk before setting out on their mission.
As the shamans began to chant in low, violent tones, Thukorg felt
the heat continue to build and drew deeply upon his inherent powers
to withstand it. He knew they would need all of their power to
defeat the threat that had availed itself against them.
For some time now, something had been sucking the heat from the
depths of the volcano, and eventually elders were able to trace
the leakage to a series of ducts that ran seemingly endlessly to
the southeast, deep beneath the earth. Of the first scouts who
explored these tunnels, only one returned, to report that they
were filled with cold and icy winds that buffeted and chilled
them as they attempted to pass. Massive, icy stalactites and
stalagmites jutted out suddenly at the scouts as they attempted
to pass, impaling them.
With the help of ancient rituals and elder, primal magicks,
the tribal elders believed they had found the source of their
unknown foe. A tower, they believed, across the ocean and
across a wasteland on a distant continent, held the secret of
this insidious menace. And so the war party would travel
overland to find the perpetrators of this sorcerous attack and
kill them.
As the chant of the shamans built to a final crescendo, Thukorg
was forced to shield his eyes as the intense fires in the pit
before him seemed to leap upward one last time before settling
back down into the river below. Tiny rivets of magma stuck to
his skin, burning and fusing it. It was time to go.

Thukorg Ur'Amenn huddled, shivering and alone in the small cell.
The manacles binding his arms glistened with frost, and the stone
walls emanated a pale, frigid hue. With a creak, the cell door
opened and Thukorg raised his head slightly to regard the
slender human who now entered, a fur-lined cape draped over his
shoulders.
"My, it's chilly in here, isn't it. And my dear giant, you're
shivering!" With that, the man chuckled to himself.
There was a time when Thukorg would have surged with anger, would
have risen to crush the spirit of this one who dared taunt him so.
But the memory of those times had fled Thukorg, as if all that he
had been and all the memories of self had been entombed in the
ice that now caged him. He said nothing, and lowered his eyes to
the floor.
Then the door slammed shut once more, and though he heard no lock
being worked, he knew he was trapped just as surely as any bolt or
iron bars would have him.
And Thukorg sat, waiting, and in those lonely times he despaired
in the futility as he sought to remember the times when his
spirit flowed and surged, unencumbered by its glacial prison.
Memories of Fire

Some said it was madness that descended upon Thukorg Ur'Amenn.
He had always had an air of primal mystery about him. Others
would watch him from the corners of their eye as he stood amid
corpses piled high on battlefields - seemingly in meditation,
relishing the scent of death around him. That his obsessions
would turn from inward to outward, however, was nothing any
in his squad had anticipated.
He had been found by the Seantryn armies at the edges of the
vast wastes of Nonviel. Naked and dying of thirst and exposure,
Thukorg had collapsed upon staggaring into their camp. They
fed him and healed him, hoping to find in him answers of what
threats to the Empress might exist in the wastes. What they
found instead was a seemingly confused soul. Thukorg spoke
little, and when he did it was not of his past.
Thukorg did, however, prove to be a useful ally. His martial
prowess spoke of more instinct than training, but within
a few weeks, the training they offered him took hold with
terrifying efficiency. Favoring clubs and spears, he quickly
developed a fearsome reputation after a few skirmishes with
upstart Xvart raiders.
Then the day of horror came, after they had crushed a den of
pirates near the bay. Thukorg stood as he always did among
the dead, breathing deeply of the death that now surrounded
him. The blood streaming from his weapons ran down his arms
in ghastly ribbons. He knew what the others thought he did
during these moments, but did not care. He sought... to
remember.
And then visions of roiling lava and chaos began to fill his
mind. He could feel the impossible heat surging around him,
the flows of magma taking hold of his soul. Without a look
back at the soldiers behind him, he began walking. North.
As he approached the edge of the forest he heard shouts
go up behind him.
Scouts later found the corpses of those who had been sent to
find Thukorg the deserter - if they could be described as
corpses, that is. Charred and blackened flesh, mottled with
horrific stab wounds sat haphazardly in a clearing. Limbs
were torn from the bodies, and the faces of one and all
were twisted in a horrifying rictus.
But Thukorg was gone.
