Description
This slightly built avian seems to flow with grace that seems unnatural.
His crest flows from his head like liquid gold, spilling softly down his
back Ghostly pale wings darkening to a charcoal grey at the tips stretch
forth behind him. A subdued red breast peeks out of his clothing here and
there. If not for the habitual hunching he would perhaps just clear seven
feet in height. His eyes pool with sadness out of a cloudy emerald
color set within a ghostly pale face. His beak, a bare nub, is an
orange-yellow color with a streak of grey running along each side.
Role
Thwrerrorip's Younger Days.

Thwrerrorip spent much of his youth as a merchant, but felt there must be
more to life than coin. Gathering a small fortune and wandering the lands
in search of something to believe in he stumbled across a little
information about the Fortress of Light. Thinking perhaps this was a goal
worth dedicating himself to he decided to seek these people out to
determine if this is was indeed the place where his destiny lay.
The cause.
Added Thu Dec 30 01:19:38 2010 at level 15:
The preservation and spreading of the light is the loftiest of goals. One
worthy of dedicating a life to. Some ideals are greater than an
individual to the point that expending your life in search of, or defense
of said goal is well worth the cost - This is one such goal. While
typically within the Fortress those of the more martial persuasions are
better suited to be squires and Maran. Thwrerrorip's flight takes him
another way. To become a scribe and perhaps one day an Acolyte.
The Fortress, a long overdue account.

Left out of the tale so far have been those influential people helping
Thwrerrorip along his way: The youthful seeming but wise Sollin, his well
meaning but gruff "uncle" Gunthur who Thwrerrorip has even taken to
calling Uncle Stinky, Ikagie the paladin who should be squire, Athioles
the maran, and of course Thuorn the scribe. These people have had the
most effect on Thwrerrorip's life so far and though one is not a part of
the fortress, have given him a second family. A family with tighter bonds
of caring and loyalty than he could have known elsewhere.
Time has passed and Thwrerrorip has been called into the halls of the
Fortress as a Scribe. The halls are beautiful, and the moment he passed
the Tara'Bal he felt a sense of home and belonging. In light of new
duties he has less and less time for his hobby of picking up things here
and there in his travels and enjoying a good haggle over price with some
shopkeeper or other. Though he occasionally finds himself distracted by
something left behind in someone else's war that he can see value in. It
pains him to see coin tossed away willy nilly like that. He has slipped
up and perhaps acted a touch more like a squire than a scribe on at least
one occasion, but he offers to share what he knows of the joys of walking
in the light once the heat of battle has passed. Perhaps we'll catch up
with young Thwrerrorip again when he has settled into his life more and
things are less hectic.
Bearing witness.

Thwrerrorip was accidentally privy to a conversation betwixt Twist the
god of magic, and Sollin the scribe where it appeared the God of magic
tortured poor Sollin with moral quandries. In the end the appearances
were not what it seemed, and Sollin seems to have been offered the chance
to save the essence of a child pulled from the inferno itself, but the
cost was his own innocence. While the old Sollin will be missed, that
carefree joyous youth, but he seems stronger somehow, more resolute.
There was talk of a debt owed to the future. Thwrerrorip offered himself
to take the cost, but ... Well the cost hasn't been paid yet, if there is
a chance to save harm to Sollin then Thwrerrorip will try again in the
future to take it if he can. Perhaps this is not possible, and likely
Sollin will argue against it in any case, but Sollin has already given
much of himself so if harm to him can be avoided, then Thwrerrorip will
try.
Lord Twist DID make clear that Sollin's soul remains undamaged. So
perhaps things aren't as worrisome as they appear.
Bringing the light.

Since we last saw Thwrerrorip once again, much has transpired. He had
some conversations with the Marshall and the Cardinal about potential
future duties. A brief conversation with The Prophet on his views of one
of these. Much chaos ensues followed by more chaos. Then a unicorn
appears before Thwrerrorip, shifts into the Lady Padwei, who after a bit
of a talk offers him the mantle of Acolyte. This being a way to help
those of the light in a more direct way, he of course accepts. There
seemed to have been a lull to pen this, but apparently not that much of
one. This is such a weak description of so much happening, but is the
best that can be done for now.
A poor choice.
Added Thu Jan 27 09:17:54 2011 at level 51:
In an attempt to keep the nexun off the Tara'bal, a trade was made for
Thwrerrorip to rest in exchange for the nexun to quit striking the Maran.
This did not help anything in the end. Looking for the alternative to
battle for a solution just doesn't always work. This may end up leading
to battles with the balanced folk, but only if pressed will this come to
pass. A sad day that will be.
Worries abound.
Added Thu Feb 3 08:20:29 2011 at level 51:
Thwrerrorip went unto the shrine of the lord of mercy and spoke with him.
He was given the mantle of seeker of clarity which was more than
expected. Much thought will have to go into what he learned during this
conversation. Currently a more pressing matter weighs on his soul. He
worries that he perhaps should not travel with certain of the Maran, for
twice now they have struck out at everything in a room striking at a
creature of the light along with those they meant to fight. Simply being
involved in this burns at his soul. The choice is the proverbial double
edged sword, be there to protect his bretheren, or not harm the light. It
is wrong to even have to make this choice. He feels some of the maran
have thier toes on the line they should not cross, and inch forward to
keep thier balance without thinking on it. He believes it is
thoughtlessness that caused the deaths, and while that can happen, it
should not be dismissed without thought as it appears was done. After a
couple of times one would think that inattention would be corrected, and
Thwrerrorip begins to worry that it is more than not noticing, but a lack
of caring.
A charge
Added Thu Feb 3 13:38:26 2011 at level 51:
Thwrerrorip finds himself charged by Warlord Nnaeshuk to speak to the
particular maran who started the fight that ended in the harming of one
of the light, and to report how the talk went to the lords and ladies of
the fortress. While it is his duty to help keep the Maran from stepping
over the line, or in this case perhaps pull someone BACK over the line,
it is still a hard thing to talk about. Thwrerrorip is angry over the
event and did not wish to speak of it, but duty is duty and it needs to
be taken care of before others are harmed. The warlord is much wiser than
his manner of speech suggests. This takes care of many problems with but
one action.
Sprawling in lading on his face.
Added Sat Feb 5 07:12:44 2011 at level 51:
While he wished to speak to his brother himself first, he sought advice
first when the maran in question had not awakened in a while. This
apprently was a poor idea as the marshal overheard, and of course, the
marshal would want to deal with a maran problem himself. Though
Thwrerrorip pressed a bit so that he could complete the charge as given,
it left a foul taste on his palate, likely the worst he has handled any
sort of bargaining or negotiation. He regained his footing some when a
tribunal, clearly gone mad with misdirected anger, sought to start a war
with the fortress. Thwrerrorip stalled the strike by placing himself
inside the city guarded by the tribunal, if he wished to strike, he would
violate his own honor for a personal grudge. It is hoped that the
tribunal has since thought about what that action meant, and how it would
affect not only his life, but those he worked with. Sadly, Thwrerrorip
doubts this and thinks that the attack is merely stalled and they will
still try to get their war.
The first circle...
Added Sun Feb 6 18:02:39 2011 at level 51:
Thwrerrorip being daft took it upon himself to poke his beak into the
first circle of hell. After stumbling about for what seemed like an
eternity, he manages to work his way in. Surprised at finding some of the
light there he offered the succor of the orb to them, but they declined.
Turns out it would not have sent them to the fortress in any case, but at
least he tried. He was surprised to find a spark of hope within, though.
Running low on food, and hearing the harpy's call he left earlier than he
had hoped. While some day he may return, it is not the sort of place he
would wish to be. To go with others will just cause strife since they
will seek to harm the balanced shades for items of power.
Where everyone points at everyone else.

Thwrerrorip and Thuorn were chatting idly by while Thuorn held vigil for
his lady. As weariness crept in and Thuorn began to drift off, the lady
appeared. While discussing the passing of leadership among the acolytes
they were asked what they thought on the matter. So each suggests the
other as good for each position, with a slight twist. Sollin's name was
brought into the mix. Had he been there Thwrerrorip is sure there would
have been more pointing at another to say "This one or that one is more
worthy than I for such honors." Some may think this false modesty, but
in truth each of these brothers has much faith in the others. Each would
happily stand aside if another sought either the place of cardinal or
prophet. Thwrerrorip's heart is warmed by the idea that there is such
closeness and faith in one another that no matter how things fall there
will be no bitterness, doubt, or mistrust among them.
An unexpected prophet.
Added Tue Feb 15 21:31:07 2011 at level 51:
Thwrerrorip has not yet seen the new prophet to cheer his success, but is
glad another walks the lands who wakes often and can call pledges into
duty within the halls. Thuorn carried the mantle of leadership with him
long before taking such a position. Thwrerrorip was truly thinking Sollin
would be more suited to it than Thuorn but it is good that his brother is
the elder prophet. Now if we can just get Sollin to listen when it comes
time for Jerohk to pass on his mantle of cardinal. Though with any luck
that time is far from now.
Thwrerrorip feels as if the light is carried strongly in the hearts of
many, though new dark ones walk the lands every day, most do not have the
strength within to stand long in the face of such brightness. Many will be
culled away and those of strong convictions will last the test of time,
these are the ones to worry over. Facing these is when strong leaders
will be needed. Thwrerrorip feels we might just have them when the time
comes that they are needed.
