Description
Clearly of the youngest elven generation, the fey girl before you
has a clear love for the past, with clothing and ornaments old
by elven standards...which means they are ancient by the view
of the other races of Thera.
Her hair is not the popular gold color, but rather the pure black
of raven midnight, and wrapped up in a tight knit to keep out of the
way of her studies and training. Eyes that are like brown walnuts seem
always to be scanning, placing things in both a perspective of present
and past...and how they relate to everything else.

Childhood Storybooks

Tia kicked off her sandals and tossed herself down on the brush along the
gentle hillside. The clouds flowed overhead and she could not be happier in
the bright afternoon sun. She cracked open her book, "A Knights Last
Stand Against Night" and finally delved into where the brave hero had left
off last.
The young girl loved her books and all stories! However her favorites had
always been adventures of lone knights and heroes in ages gone past standing
up against insurmountable odds by their tenacity and courage. Even though she
knew the author must have lived to write this tale of his adventures, her
brows furrowed and she hung on every line of text, breathing hard and excited
to see the outcome.
This hero was something called an Ehren Lord and seemed to always be
alone against great odds. She chewed on a piece of grass, imagining in her
head the version of events as each word unfolded the next event.
The temple bell rang and she leapt, startled, to her feet. Time always seemed
to go too fast when she was lost in her books and stories. She was late for
class and no matter that she was the most studious and smartest bookworm in
the academy. If she received one more demerit for being late and she would
not be allowed her swordplay after lessons. She grinned. Nine parts buried in
old dusty novels and one part playing at swords for her only physical
activity, she twirled and danced through the meadow, pretending she was an
Errand Lord or whatever it was called.
In her mind her class was beset by goblins and orcs and gnolls and things and
there she stood in front with her giant sword protecting everyone! Hah!
She tripped and fell.
Dusting herself off, she ran on ahead thru the Darsylon streets.
Swordsmanship Her Way

Wack. Thwack. Woosh went the practice swords.
The young elven girl with a quill behind one ear and her reading glasses
strapped tightly to her head went thru the sword maneuvers.
Her opponent was crossing his.. Ouch.. she staggered back from a kick in
the face.
Strength was brawn was not her forte, but research, cunning, and pure
determination was. She put that into play now.
First, she was often underestimated, yet someone infamous for her determination
when all thought her beaten in weapons class. She let out a groan and
staggered like a thespian to draw her opponent in.
Second, she knew her opponent. She knew all her opponents in class. While
they drank mead and played in their revelry, she took breaks from her
adventure books to look at notes of her classmates skirmishes. Some of their
techniques might be better, their bodies stronger, but she knew those
techniques, she knew their training and anticipated what would come next.
Lauric dashed at her with a double thrust to finish her. She stepped inside
his thrust. Now time was on her side. Jab. Jab. Jab.
She had won.
Standing up Tia smiled. She was a far cry from the heroes of her legends, but
today victory was hers. She just wished she started each fight better, it
would be much less painful that way.
Crossroads
Added Mon Nov 12 03:53:07 2018 at level 51:
Tia stood at a crossroads in life. It came beneath the ancient crypts of
Arkham. Zombies lay crumpled about her as she led her companions though
level after level of the crypt. Those with her were fragile and they trusted
her lead in this crusade.
Suddenly a dark elf assassin came charging at them across the crypts. She
narrowed her eyes and prepared for her fight.
But wait! He wasnt charging at her! He was charging the mage next to her,
his eyes wide with a rage known only to villagers.
She gasped. She had been training and thought her calling an Ehren Lord of
old, but suddenly the mage was hit hard with one slice of the dark elf
villager assassins blades and his cry cut her to the soul.
It was at that moment that she realized the Ehren Lords of her books whom she
admired so greatly for their strength thru honor was not a path she could
follow.
Instinctively she twirled and slipped into the place of her mage ally, swords
ringing out to parry the next attacks, rescuing him from the villagers
slices.
She must lead, she must protect those who could not stand alone. She begin
shouting orders and the second mage recovered his wits to turn into an
animal. The invoker she rescued begin casting his spells. Yet the villager
raged harder and turned on the invoker again! The invoker fled near death!
She could not let him follow! She tripped the dark elf. Then suddenly her
invoker ally returned. He looked at her and she saw then the thanks, the
determination she had shown him reciprocated in one single gaze. Barely
holding onto life, he dragged himself back in the room uttering incantations,
his own life at risk. One spell hit, another hit. The dark-elf villager fell.
Her path had been chosen. She was no Ehren Lord, but good had been done this
day. When she looked at the mages of light she had saved, she felt vindication
that her path, while unexpected, was the right one.
Was She Fact or Fiction

Tia returned from her adventure with Arsaiya and Aiya. They had went their
separate ways and she now stepped into the fortress walls alone now.
She had just walked the shadow plane! What was THAT about!? And fought all
sorts of horrible and strange demons before finally they were thrown into the
most wicked of battles against a two-headed devil!
She walked up the stairs of the eastern wall and looked off across towards
the river, reflecting on her life. She had come so far so fast, yet rose in a
period of relative calm. Was she ready? Here she was walking on planes and
creating her own adventures as grand as some of her favorite childhood books.
Yet real enemies were out there waiting. They were far more trained, far more
vicious, and far less green than she.
Her last wakening alone, two squires and two acolytes had exclaimed "Tia,
you made it into the fortress!" as if it was the biggest surprise in Thera.
She sighed and pulled her new devilskin cape closer about her body, warding
off the chill coming across the redhorn mountains.
The comments reminded her of her childhood. Any success she had was always a
surprise to everyone else. Every victory met more with shock than congratulations.
Did they all see what she would not accept? That she was not yet ready for
the trials ahead? She could not accept that. And if it was true, she could
not allow it to be the status quo. For her failure was not hers alone. It
would be the downfall of those mages she save in the crypts. The downfall of
her companions who journeyed with her to the shadow plane. The downfall of
the squires and acolytes who would depend on her in what would be harder
times ahead.
She sighed and turned from the ramparts. She would return to her room and
light two candles tonight. She had so much to read on the fighting techniques
of her adversaries. She would reread stories of ancient duels and combat
studies. If she must work harder into the night to make up the difference for
the battles ahead, what else could she do? Her life didnt just depend on it,
her friends depended on it. She narrowed her eyes in dedication, determined
as she always was in life, not to accept anything close to defeat until all
options were exhausted.
