Description
A rather short fela is built with a very muscular frame,
her dull yellow eyes seemingly darting every which way and
seeing everything at all directions. The very sparse fur
is quite an unusual feature that stands out as well as the
the long scar running across her forehead.
Together with an almost complete lack of hair, this has a
somewhat off-putting effect, especially combined with
the long and very visible fangs, yellow but very sharp.
Sharp things don't end at the mouth, as this fela
possesses four very clearly sharp paws, and from the
looks of it, they get sharpened quite often.
Role
The back story
Added Sat Jun 13 15:44:49 2015 at level 1:
Growing up in Sultan's city can be somewhat challenging, especially
when one does not appreciate the laws and regulations of the city.
It is not quite by choice that Tiissana frequented the pockets
of nomads and bar patrons, but rather by the virtue of growing up alone.
Her family has burnt in a fire set off by some "wild folk of the east" as
people called them, with the infant fela surviving only barely, with
all fur forever burnt off her skin. As the family house burned to the ground
and the roof fell in, there was a place unaffected by the ruckus and that
was the large stone cooking and heating hearth, empty at the time, where
Tiissana loved to crawl in to sleep in a very enclosed space.
With stone around her, she was not affected by the worst of the fire and
managed to survive by breathing the air from the chimney. The temperature
never became impossible, but the fur has still burnt off, never to regrow.
The neighbors kept her alive for a while, but being poor, they
had their own children to feed and kicked her out when she was
eight and deemed old enough to fend for herself. She did not blame
them but grew very disappointed with people and generally untrusting.
Stealing varied from easy to hard, but her nimbleness and small size
kept her out of trouble until one fateful day when the seemingly
hapless desert nomad was about to part with his rather heavy satchel and
then next moment, the fela felt very sharp pain across the forehead,
recoiling quickly from the source of pain, and jumping back, noticing
through the blood-covered eyes, a sword that almost split her head in two,
in the hand of the nomad. He looked intently at her, with the unfazing glare
in his dark blue eyes and then sheathed the sword and beckoned with his palm.
Not producing a sound still, Tiissana searched for escape. Alas, she
jumped backwards into a corner of the alley and the only way out lay
through the stranger. Somewhat encouraged by her lack of choices and
the now-sheathed sword, she licked the blood off her face and approached.
The wild nomad did turn out to be from the desert to the south and he was
looking to hire help for his caravans that cross the big desert.
Being quick on her paws and surprisingly good with all manner of
weapons, Tiissana turned out to be a very good caravan guard,
even though she had to adjust to the heat at first. Over the years,
she became used to it and did not mind the desert crossings at all.
In fact, the fela found an unusual bond with the desert and a certain
peace when she was in the sand. She could feel every scorpion around her
somehow, every jackal in the rare bushes, and became quite attuned to
the sounds of the desert and its inhabitants. With age, there came
a longing, to achieve more, to better self, to become a mistress of combat,
a mistress of wild beasts, and a mistress of men.
The Balance of self
Added Sat Jun 13 15:55:39 2015 at level 1:
After parting with the caravan life, she went to live in a cabin in
the forest, taking in the sights and sounds until she felt comfortable
enough there and then she moved to a swamp and then the mountains and
even briefly near the sea. The latter she still did not quite like as
it was very difficult to swim, but she learned to appreciate it nevertheless.
Learned of all the wilds, she set off to better herself at combat
as her weapon skills were quite good and becoming a combat mistress
would allow her to improve her standing in the world.
There was also a big reason for her to strive for the perfection of
the physical fighting. She found that the dance of spears and paws was
staggeringly beautiful and her inner self was at complete calm only during
the fiercest battle, preferably outnumbered by bandits, facing them alone.
The harder the battle, the more calm and serenity it brought her.
Not to mention the satisfaction of victory at the end of it all.
It is as if all her desires and wishes just went away in a flow
of battle, leaving behind worries of money, of food, of clothes,
of any earthly matter, with Tiissana becoming a different person,
one almost entirely consisting of calm and precise fatal strikes.
The Task

Presenting myself to Lord Deormdel after living in the village for some time,
after I have learnt the works of the Balance in combat sufficiently, I was
asked to perform a talk with Aufang of the Island. Seeking a harder challenge,
I have asked Deormdel not to reveal this Task to the islander.
Having located the assassin, we have talked at quite some length about the Balance.
Fortunately, he did not prove to be hostile and revealed his beliefs honestly.
After a while, he grew suspicious and asked what it's about, so I had to tell him.
It does not seem like we disagree on a lot of things, the major point being Magic,
as expected. For some odd reason, he reckons that it has a role in nature and in life.
He also beliefs in some celestial dragon that spews life and watches over the forces.
Despite being a grown man, I reckon he has the right to those odd beliefs.
We all have our own illusions and no one knows the ultimate truth.
The Second Task
Added Wed Aug 19 21:22:39 2015 at level 51:
As I find the Balance of forces in combat to be utterly important,
Glacial Lord wisely assigned me to find the items that
represent the challenge and the solution.
Long and hard I have searched, for there are many instruments
of combat, but not many still alive who lose themselves in it
completely. I believe I found one like that however, the orc
berserker in the tower, with his tongue hanging out, continously
cursing and seemingly mad. He wielded the dark spear Khalgoth,
which was probably responsible for his madness in the first place.
Its wielder will change nature, probably ending up as crazed and
as lost in combat as that orc.
And then there's a robe of tranquility, worn by Feristle.
Even looking at it produces calm and soothiness, easily
relaxing and allowing for meditation and serene focus.
