Description

Age, adventure and battle have begun to show on this huge, horned beast here before you thats stretches to at least eleven feet in length. The thick, white horns, with scorch marks, and what appears to be barbed wire wrapped so tightly that it has melded with the bone are the first thing that grab your attention. If you had seen him in his youth, the chips and scratches would now be much more noticeable. Still, the horns themselves are long and curve up just at the tips in the manner of the long-horned cattle, and do not appear to have lost any sharpness. His massive, bovine head is covered in thick, coarse white hair, matted by blood, dirt and sweat. Many small scars and burn marks are scattered across the face which ends in a spittle and snot covered snout. A long, thick beard falls beneath his chin, as well kept as it can be, but still stained with blood and black slobber in spots. You can also see emerging streaks of gray in the beard. Thick, corded muscles attach the massive head to a huge body. The coarse hair of his head thickens into long, white fur covering his body. The fur, and his body, are clearly aged from years of vicious battle, with more scarring than he had in his younger years. His hands are large, and are attached to proportionately large arms. His legs bend backwards at the knee as compared to most denizens of Thera, and the hooves of this beast are larger, and more battered than most. He wears a number of different pieces of armor, most of it well cared for.

Role

Tjur Summary

Tjur was born into a conclave of wizards hiding out in the Jade Mountains
which resulted in him developing thicker fur than normal. Raised a slave,
he was also often tortured by the ice wizards there. He was then sold to
slave traders and more or used as a guard dog on their ship. His aversion
to flame and thick fur were used to torture and control him. It was there
he received his names, called Tjur for a long time, meaning monster in the
tongue of the slave traders and after an incident with a mad priest the
slavers pulled from the sea they also mocked him as Odjurkung, the Beast
King. It was at this time that the slavers also wrapped his horns in sharp
barbed wire, both as a mocking crown, and to make their guard dog more
fearsome. A cruel transmuter fused the wire to his horns, which served as
the catalyst for him to escape captivity. He murdered everyone aboard in a
bloody rage and ended up deposited on the southern shores of the Aryth. He
was found by a free minotaur that lived in a conclave apart from the city.
He is assumed by that conclave, and based on the events of his life to be
a prophesied figure in their legends.

Tjur will seek the village based on his years of captivity and torture at
the hand of mages.

He has a close affinity with all minotaur and sees them as oppressed by
Seantryn Modan and others.

Sphere Destruction + battle will most likely pull him towards Jormyr but
as I hash out what the prophecy is and depending on how things go in game
maybe I throw some Scarab stuff or GWB into the mix.

Tjur Updates/Musings

Tjur has more and more come to embrace his role beyond a simple tool of death
and destruction. For many years all he ever thought about was destroying
everything around him, with the focus being on those that cause him the most
pain. While that is still his primary motive in life, he is beginning to think
about what it all means, what he means to the larger world - much in the way
that a person who had expected to be dead at a young age and survived must
now face the reality that their life will be more than a flash in the pan.

This should lead to more Jormyrian(?) musings, taunts, actions etc. While
he will never be a preacher he should be referencing things like the false
illusions of safety and security that things like cabals, cities, etc.
provide to the others he comes across. He will begin to seek something of
a meaning or a reason that he does what he does, I expect it to manifest
along the lines of scouring the earth after a hurricane, avalanche or
even a bad forest fire - although this analogy should cause a reaction
due to his aversion to fire.

This could tie back to the "prophecy" of the group of minos that took him
in after he escaped slavery. Their prophecy of course more closely related
to the destruction of Seantryn Modan and upending the order in the south, a
rise of the minotaur and destruction of the oppressors angle. He should
come to see this prophecy as a way to change the order of the world at
large. His divergence with the prophecy of the group and how he reads it
could be explained by his lack of contact with other mino adventurers and
a broader perspective about Thera.
