Description

Towering at perhaps ten feet in height, a large humanoid figure stands here before you. At first glance, you notice this beast has hooves beneath legs the size of tree trunks. A bullish head with two sharpened horns rests abroad shoulders as wide and thick as a boat. The body is filled with hard muscle and veins that pulse between the sinew. An array of armor covers the mass of this immense figure, with assorted weapons drapped strategically along the waist and torso. Deep red eyes peer forward, unblinking, and the skin is taunt with youth. The skin shows some scars, some jagged, some smooth, and the hands appeared to be calloused. Along the right arm is a tattoo of the word "Order". Further inspection shows...

Role

The end of days

Added Thu Oct 9 20:30:07 2014 at level 1:
The cold wind swept through the city streets, as a black raven darker
than the moonless sky sat atop the anti-paladin guild of the Imperial
Square. The wind gusted deep into the halls of the Palace itself, cooling
the temperature and the raging thoughts of Emperor Khallos. He sat amongst
the Council in the Throne Room, reflecting on a life that although vast
in accomplishment, lacked in reaching his goals.

Khallos grew to power quickly, his faith in Destuvius had been flawless,
and nobody knew the Grand Design better except the God himself. Khallos
had ruled with an iron fist, mighty, and swift. Khallos knew where
there was potential, and knew when there was not. Born human, his lifetime
now seemed so short. The Fortress of Light was still in power, the Outlanders
still say in their dwellings worshipping Ancients. He had not truly defeated
his enemies and established true Order.

It was on this moonless night that Khallos composed a plan like no other.
The wind chilled him to his bones, old as they were, and it was in these
chills that the idea came to him. Khallos had raised many a imperial in
rank, taught them when need be, anathemad them when they dissappointed.
But this plan would be like none before it. It was perhaps here Khallos
would take part in the Grand Design, and leave his mark before his
body would bear life no more. He had tasted death and knew the circles of
of Hell likely awaited his soul. But he had one last trick up his armguard.

Khallos rose from the Throne. He nodded to the Council and stepped down
into the city. In the shadows of the most eastern Imperial Guard Tower,
he brought forth his four most trusted advisors. He began to explain
his grandest design....

The secret council

Added Thu Oct 9 20:50:30 2014 at level 1:
During his reign, Khallos had come to truly trust only a few of
those that served the Empire beneath him, as most often schemed for his
throne. There had been four he trusted with his life, and ironically
enough, each one belonged to a different sect except one. There was
Bakllen, a human warrior who had grew up in the same faith as Khallos. Next
was Sepinrot, a half-drow assassin that had a swift touch even Khallos feared.
Keeping the deepest of faith, Ghrundd the fire giant shaman had helped
Khallos many times against terrible odds. But the most important of the
secret council was Qwurred, the drow female citizen, an invoker. Khallos
in a way had grew fond of the lowly citizen, and admired her sophistication.

Gathering beneath the Imperial Tower, shadowed from all wandering eyes,
Khallos explained his last wish. Khallos felt that although his faith
had been true, the fear that all men felt had often kept him from acheiving
his true success in Order. He believed that, through his many enemies, the
ferocity of the minotaur was unmatched. They knew no fear, and it showed in
battle as they were near impossible to defeat. Khallos told the council that
the Empire would need a leader that matched no other, even Khallos himself.
Khallos knew that leader would also need power, to show the strength of
the Empire while keeping those that served it in check. Khallos felt his
chosen guild, the anti-paladins, could provide that power and strength.
Holding great faith in Destuvius, Khallos look his secret council in
their eyes. He sighed, taking a deep breath, before he spoke.

"I have trusted you all more than you know. I now tell you this. I have
stored an immense amount of Imperial Gold deep in the sea of the Aryth
Ocean. It will be enough funds for you all to complete my request."

Khallos looked at Sepinrot. "You will steal a minotaur baby. Travel to
Seantryn, and using the shadows, do what you must to gain a minotaur when
they are born from the female humans womb. Be smart, and do it in silence."

Khallos looked over at Bakllen and Ghrunnd. "You two will teach him in his
early years. Teach him of battle, of weaponry, tactics, and opporunity. He
must know the faith of Destuvius Ghrundd, and I trust you can teach him well."

Finally, Khallos gazed deep into the eyes of Qwurred. "You, lady, will
work on his speech. He will need to use minotaur cunning to talk, and he
must learn some common tongue. He will need to learn the spells of my guild
and I trust only you to teach him proper sorcery."

The raven left his perch and began to circle the Guard Tower. Khallos knew
time was up. He trusted no creature in Imperial lands. The council was dismissed and the plan was set into action...

Early years

Added Thu Oct 9 21:08:31 2014 at level 1:
Tkrurg knew little of his beginnings. He only knew of the small house
near the Ocean where he lived every day, studying, learning and trying
to grow strong. He knew little of his birth, or how he came to this house.
He only knew of the human and the fire giant that had taught him for years from
time to time, although their visits were short and they left swiftly.
Tkrurg would later hear of their death, serving Imperial Creed well, but
falling to the growing strength of their enemies. Tkrurg had learned
that before his birth, Emperor Khallos had died of old age, and the Empire
had gone from power swiftly in the chaos that followed. A bitter fight
for the Throne had left the Empire weak, in need of reshaping and Order.

Tkrurg was only truly familiar with his caretaker, a female drow that
taught him every waking hour when he was not training his body or eating.
She was a slavedriver in a way, and although Tkrurg was not smart, he was
wise enough to know the power she held. She spoke with a passion
unmatched, and she was only quiet when he would find her overlooking
the Ocean like she was looking for some distant soul that never came.

At last, Tkrurg had mastered enough of common tongue to learn
the most basic of sorcery. He could speak to some the villagers that
would visit that farm, and they easily understood him. Tkrurg felt it
was time for him to make way to the mainland of Thera, the lands he
had never seen. The drow had told him of the Palace, the cities of
Hamsah Mu'Tazz, Galadon and Udgaard amongst other things. He knew
he had a part in the Grand Design, and he was ready to embrace it.

His caretaker sensed his restlessness, and advised it was his time. She
took Tkrurg to the cliff overlooking the Ocean and gave him a handful
of coins. She half smiled, and pointed to a raft nearby. She told
Tkrurg to find Hamsah and make it his home.

She looked over the ocean again, with that faraway expressions she often
had on her face. "Know that your existence cost the lives of many, but
for good purpose. You are, in a way, the son of Khallos and I know he
would have you take his lastname, Blackblade. He was feared and in a way,
you have large boots to fill." She paused before she spoke again.
"I may have loved him, if that is what this feeling has been..."

Tkrurg will never forget her face, filled with longing, as she tumbled
headfirst over the cliff, smashing head first into the rocks, before the
crashing waves took her body into the dark depths of the Ocean.

The Black Blade

Added Sat Oct 18 19:29:00 2014 at level 25:
Tkrurg sat quietly, contemplating how to achieved his status as a
Black Servant thus far. He could only wish he was making his Emperor
Khallos proud in his grave, whereever he may be. He had taken the
lastname of Khallos in rememberence of him, Blackblade. It was
an interesting tale, and as Tkrurg idly nibbled on a whole chicken, he
reflected...

Khallos, in his younger years, had studied the dark arts to find
a way to make an unholy weapon like no other, capable of not only
stealing souls, but to inflict pain upon his enemies even when they
fought him. It was in this quest for such a mighty weapon that he found
an ancient spell, that not even rumor to this day knows the depths of
his findings. It was said the ritual had a low chance of success, as the
body could collapse from the effort, but Khallos as undeterred from it.
The spell called for the bindings of a runemaster, and the
communes of the most reverent priest. Khallos would be
withered, rotted from the inside out, poisoned, inflicted with
the worst of diseases, and cursed. As Khallos lay in agonizing
pain, he screamed as they took the blade and pierced his heart. Just
the tip of the sword into a small cut of his heart. Placing sealing
runes along the blade, the runemaster coated the blade in corrupt blood
while making the necessary marks. The blade would inflict harm on
even the most bravest Lightwalker in the wickedest of ways.

Khallos somehow survived. Khallos, until his final breath, told all of
his servants that it was his faith in Destuvius and the Grand Design that
kept him alive. The lands of Thera shook at the side of Emperor Khallos's
Blackblade, and it was his name forever more.

The Grand Design.

Added Tue Oct 28 19:28:39 2014 at level 36:
Tkrurg sat in the Imperial Throne Room, gazing upon the greatness
that his "father" Khallos had left behind when he died. There
was great majesty and beauty in the Order, in the signifigance of it.
Tkrurg sat reflecting upon himself, and his place in this world...

It was in his meditations that Tkrurg realized to achieve his
goals, he would need a deeper meaning and guidance in his mortal life.
The female drow had often spoken of the greatness of Lord Destuvius, and
his Grand Design. He knew he was apart, in some way, of this Design, but
his purpose had yet to be truly revealed. Tkrurg had offered prayers to
the Great God, but he realized he would need to seek him further than
offering words of worship. He would need to be symbol of Lord Destuvius
himself. Gathering himself, Tkrurg left the Palace on a mission...

Searching high and low, Tkrurg finally found the shrine of his
great Lord. He knew now that he would worship his Lord in the
appropriate manner, and seek his audience. He wished to knew how he
could gain a deeper faith, be a symbol of the greatness of the Grand Design.
