Role
a code of conduct for Magistrates (note to tribunal) part 2
Added Wed Nov 19 16:52:01 2008 at level 51:
Magistrates should be helpful and courteous in answering questions about the
city they protect, providing accurate and helpful information regarding
merchants, guilds and healing services provided for their citizens. This will
help promote the economy and better their cities, allowing for growth and
expansion of the orderly and civilized way of life, as well as promoting a
positive image of the Spire. This makes citizens more likely to accept our
viewpoints and judgments rather than making them despise and hate us. A
Magistrate must at no time forget that they are a representative of the Spire
and that their every action reflects upon it.
Failure to treat the citizens of the cities you protect in such a
manner is grounds for dismissal as it reflects negatively upon the Blood
Tribunal and the Civic leaders it represents through its agreements with the
cities. A disrespectful Magistrate reflects poorly upon the Spire, its
leadership, and its patron immortals. When you accept your badge as a
Magistrate you have been given a great deal of power over the citizens of the
cities, and with power comes responsibility. Such responsibility does not
begin or end with the investigation of crimes or the apprehension of
criminals, you have accepted the responsibility of ensuring and promoting
order in Thera and this must never be forgotten.
a code of conduct for Magistrates (note to tribunal) part 1
Added Wed Nov 19 16:51:04 2008 at level 51:
Code of Conduct for Magistrates.
A Magistrate of The Blood Tribunal is a representative of the cities it
protects and should conduct themselves as such. Your conduct should be such
that it portrays the cities as a place where anyone is welcome and
comfortable regardless of their affiliation and background. Magistrates of
the Blood Tribunal should strive to ensure that the Ruler, Elected official
or religious leaders of the city they protect would approve of their
behavior. As protectors of order Magistrates should not threaten, harass or
belittle any citizens within the city walls. Even showing those that are
despicable by their judgment a welcoming presence. Such a presence will
promote a sense of safety and welcome increasing business with local shops
and vendors, promoting the trade system that is one of the hallmarks of an
orderly system of living.
A Magistrate should be polite, clear and concise when dealing with
interpretations of laws and issuing warrants for a criminals arrest. A
simple and official notification of the persons infraction should be stated
to a criminal as soon as is safely possible after one is issued. A magistrate
should not lose their temper and resort to petty and personal attacks upon a
criminal after a warrant is issued, such is the way of a tyrant and has no
place within the Spire. Such behavior could eventually lead to the Spires
undoing or a civic leader requesting us to remove our presence within their
city. When dealing with a suspect during an investigation it should be
remembered that the suspect has not yet been proven guilty of their crime and
should be treated as an innocent civilian until such a time exists that
enough evidence has been provided to prove otherwise.
Age
Added Sat Oct 25 21:05:38 2008 at level 51:
Tlingit throughout his life had never considered that one day he
Might become old, he watched many of his elders get such
but always denied such would happen to him.
It has happened. As he approaches his fifth century of life
Tlingit notices as every season passes because of the ache in his bones.
He has noticed that his once black hair has gone towards gray.
Every time he shifts these days he feels his bones grind together
But this is not the part of aging that has hit Tlingit the hardest.
He remembers the name of every Magistrate he has watched die,
He has felt the burden of years of listening to people argue and complain
His weary soul has felt the pressure at times of being the only
Magistrate about to stem a tidal wave of chaos, sometimes
outnumbered as many as six to one. Tlingit has pushed on.
He will continue to push on because he promised the Divine Magistrate he would.
He will continue on even if it means standing watch in a wheeled chair,
with his guards to do the enforcing of the laws.
A newfound faith
Added Mon Oct 20 17:31:39 2008 at level 51:
After years of work as the Provost Magistrate and a few interactions with the
Lords of Order Tlingit has come to a realization. He finds himself drawn to
Lord Enlilth. The Lord has shown him and helped shape him as a Provost,
showing him that it takes a strong person to handle the duties required of a
true enforcer of order. One must not only be strong of body, but also of the
mind, which is where with his newly recognized god's guidance he has become.
He has come to realize that the dark god has overseen his rise through the
Spire, with subtle prods and pushings along the way, He realizes that his
respect of the previous Provost was perhaps more perhaps it was not just a
respect of Fendril that drove him to become Provost, but also his jealousy of
Fendrils ability to push order onto Thera, and ensure everything was in
place. Tlingit realized that as long as he had been fighting the lable of
greed upon himself by shedding his fiscal wealth he did indeed have such, he
was greedy for the power that
he could gain by this post, allowing him to ensure that the laws he so dearly
loved would be enforced properly. Throughout the years he has tried to remain
humble, but with prodding from his formerly un known inspirtation he has
found that he has not always been as pleased
as he had thought, while he knows his forms powerful, he has always envied
the ability with which Shalsad is able to chase prey down that would have
long ago outrun the stubby legs he can grow. They say wisdom comes with age,
and Tlingit is no exception, with age he has
found the wisdom to see within himself what he has always supressed.
Laraiyin
Added Tue Jul 29 23:18:39 2008 at level 51:
Tlingit was just getting ready to pen a scroll reccomending Laraiyin for Vindicator when the crime occured that lead to her Dismissal.
the Book in the tribunal library Entitled "Leadership" is what lead to her dismissal.
Tlingit did not enjoy releasing her nor did he want to in any way.
He did what he had to do only because the rules made it clear what should be done, and Tlingit will follow a rule to the letter.
Provost
Added Tue Jul 29 22:55:06 2008 at level 51:
Tlingit has been named Provost Magistrate, A position he is very happy to have been placed in.
Since becomeing Provost and during his time as Provincial Tlingit has had to deal punishment to other Magistrates,
In the case of Laraiyin a Magistrate he Highly respected and liked, believed would go far in the future of the Spire.
Perhaps even becoming a historical figure within it. He has learned that with the ability to greater help order
comes a price, one must also bear the burden of command, a burden one cannot prepare for, and cannot have help with
The burden of command weighs on a person, as for the rest of thier life they will always wonder if they made.
the right decision in each situation. Tlingit realizes this now, but also will continue forward and do the best he can.
as he strives to ensure the Success of the Spire's goals in stemming the tide of chaos, and ensuring order prevails.
Provincial
Added Sun Jul 20 19:41:03 2008 at level 51:
Tlingit has been promoted to a position of Provincial Magistrate which greatly joys him as he
now has the ability to ensure the order of four cities instead of just one.
He considers this a step towards his future goal of becoming a provost.
Tlingit Is deeply saddened at the passing of his father figure and mentor Provost Fendril rockbottom and has changed
his last name to Rockbottom in honor of him. He hopes that he can live up to the legacy of courage and leadership that Fendril put forth
against great odds and through great adversity, never once losing his spirit and drive.
The Blood Tribunal
Added Wed Jun 18 18:26:29 2008 at level 27:
After years of spending his life in an extreme routine Tlingit's desire for everything to be in it's perfect place went
the confines of his personal space and into the main world. He began to watch from afar the magistrates
as they did thier jobs, on a happenstance meeting with Fendril he began to question the provincial
about the Blood Tribunal. Though Tlingit considered them to be a bit unorganized and promply noted how
dirty the armor of one of Fendril's lieutenant's was. He decided though that they were closer
to putting real organization into thera than any others aside from the empire, and he couldnt
stomach thier methods. Tlingit applied for the spire and gained the position of Magistrate of Seantryn Modan.
While Tlingit is unhappy to be out of his routine while he forms a new one in the seaport city, he knows
that perhaps in the future he will be able to attain the position of Provost Magistrate and be able to
enforce a strict routine on the city guards and bring up thier uniform standard and the
enforcement of laws to perfection. Making the cities run like well oiled machines.
A day in the life of Tlingit
Added Fri Jun 13 17:23:46 2008 at level 2:
Young Tlinget arrives home from a hard day of learning at the guild to his small
apartment above the coffee house in Galadon as he has for years, at exactly 1700, the same
time he always does. As he takes off his boots and arranges them perfectly on the mat that is a measured six
inches to the left of his door, pulling out a small measuring tape to ensure they are perfectly in thier
place. After this he looks about the room and fixes a picture frame to be perfectly square on the wall
before heading over to his cupboard and pulling out some neatly sliced salt pork and bread and making a perfectly stacked
sandwich. Tlingit looks at his little mechanized clock and realises that right on schedule it's time
for him to eat his sandwich and begin to study his spells, He will repeat each one exactly one hundred
times each before going to bed for the night at exactly 2200. He will wake up again the next morning at exactly
0600 and repeat this schedule every day until he graduates from the guild's in house training.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A basic understanding of Tlingit:
- Tlingit is extremely OCD and everything has to be in it's place at all times
- Tlinget has to ensure everything in his little world is in it's place or he will become agitated.
and have to fix it before he can move on to something else.
