Description
Standing a mere three feet tall, this Svirf gazed upwards. His eye never make
contact with yours, glancing off into the distance. His feet are spread wide
apart, feet pointed outwards. His legs stubby, but wide as well. They are
thick, like halved tree trunk. His arms and chest are quite small for his
kin, but seem ample as you re-gaze upon him. Everything about him seems just
that, fitting. His armor drapes evenly across his body, hiding what little
left you wish to gander upon.

"Good morning class. Today I have a guest that has blessed us with their
presence."
A younger man, maybe twice Tokonwa's age enters the class. He shuffles
through the rows of desks and meets the teacher at the front of the room.
"Everyone, I'd like to introduce Gnaminsof. Gnaminsof was once a student of
mine many moons ago. He finally showed his true colors on this lesson, this
day, which is why I would like to bring him back to have him show you the
importance of what I'm about to say." The teacher proclaimed.
He paused, gathered a large, long board that he had sitting upon the floor
and motioned to Gnaminsof to gather the large rock that was resting next to
it.
"Come come, class. We have much work to do." The teacher said.
Everyone stood in an orderly fashion and filed to the rear of the room. They
followed the teacher throughout the lower portion of Cragstone and into the
plains to the north. Before speaking, Gnaminsof dropped the boulder upon the
earthen soil and took a seat. The teacher put the board on the top of the
rock, perfectly centered so that it balanced upon it.
"Class, this exercise is to show the importance of balance." he said as he
motioned one of the more magical students to stand upon the board.
"This," he muttered as he stumbled upon his words only to continue "
represents the veil. The magical veil exists so that we may better seek
balance. Within this veil lies truth. It will come to you," as he pointed to
the mage, " upon casting your magics. But, to my point..." he motioned to
Gnaminsof to step upon the other side of the board.
"Gnaminsof, what is the problem that we occur in this instance?" The
teacher shouted.
Gnaminsof stuttered, but managed to get out "It is uneven. I weigh much more
than the mage."
The teacher drew his from its sheathe as he began "Gnaminsof, what do we do
to solve this problem?"
Gnaminsof motioned for a different mage to join the other upon the board.
"We even the balance!" He shouted proudly. The second mage was nearly upon
the board when the teacher barked "STOP!".
The mage stopped dead in his tracks as the teacher began speaking "We do not
add to the equation, we do not attempt to balance the scales upon birthing
new. The answer is..."
The teacher swung his sword with all of his might. The blade met Gnaminsof's
neck with a fierce power unknown to the students. Gnaminsof's head was lopped
clear off of his shoulders only to fall upon the ground, face up, staring
back at the students. As his head fell from his lifeless body, he fell to
rest upon the board, balancing it perfectly. The teacher fell to his knee and
grasped the corpse. He rest his head upon its' chest and whispered softly..
"It is the nature of these lands, son."
Some of the students overheard the teacher and began talking among
themselves, even more so after what they had just seen. The teacher demanded
silence so that he could continue with his lesson.
"My son, yes. My seed, my only seed. This is the sacrifice you must make.
This is what you must retain regardless of circumstances. This is the
balance." The teacher continued muttering things under his breath as he
gathered the corpse and began walking back towards Cragstone. The students
gathered their belongings and ran, startled by the occurrence, to ponder wh

Fathered by a wealthy merchant, one of many gems and stone, Tokonwa was sent
to school. While many of his friends did not have the luxury of attending an
organized class, Tokonwa embraced the opportunity to learn and further
himself. Each day he would attend his schooling and crawl back into the
depths of Cragstone. Each day he grew more and more bored of the rhetorical
ramblings of the school.
Rather than rebel and prove himself as his own demise, Tokonwa decided to
further embrace the schooling and live through the teachings. Each and every
lesson he was taught he would act out upon. A day passed, he learned of
dragons and their kind. He ran about the tunnels of Cragstone roaring and
spitting fire from torches alike. Rather impressionable, he takes his key
roles from influential beings around him. His parents thought nothing of it
and merely assumed that once Tokonwa found himself within teachings that
truly mattered, he would find a profession and make his family proud.
As every normal day, Tokonwa made his way to his classroom. The teacher stood
and sung aloud the names of the students to insure their presence. "Tokonwa
Gemhan?" Tokonwa stood, flexed his grip upon his bindings and muttered "I
am here". Little did he know this day would prove to be the most
influential of his life.
Seeker of balance

After his lesson of balance, Tokonwa, like he normally does, took it upon
himself to find the balance within. Resting upon a stone in the same fields
he saw the brutal murder, he thought to himself of the course of actions that
would be required of him to retain the balance. First and foremost, the
balance within himself. To condition himself to the likeliness of war,
Tokonwa would prepare himself to embark upon his journey. But, it was
different this time. Tokonwa visited his father to tell him of his learning
and informed him of his moving to Galadon. Within Galadon lies the meld of
Therans that he sought to balance. He took it upon himself to abandon the
slang and random ramblings of the Svirfneblin and adapt to the culture of
Galadon. Rather than retain his roots, this was one of the courses he took to
gain balance within himself.
