Description

Standing at just 3' tall Traba does not look very imposing to the cursory glance. The more careful observer would notice the dark eyes set deep in a face which seems somehow incongruous with the rest small body. They seem to hold a store of great wisdom and confidence almost radiates from him in waves. On his body he is wearing a red hooded robe, sewn on the hem of the robe in silver thread are strange symbols that are most likely magical runes of some description. The hood of the robe is up covering his head but you can see wisps of grey hair peeking out from under it and on his chin the same grey hair is growing out of his chin in the shape of a scraggly goatee. He carries no apparent weapon but his hands seem to glow with a dangerous magical aura.

It has been quite a while since I last wrote my journal and so much has
happened during my time in the Spire. I will not write on the demise of
the Provost Daemar because I do not think it is important I will however
state that I am glad a fellow Gnome Lemath succeeded him, doubly glad due
to the fact that I like and respect him. I have recently attained the
pinnacle of the Invokers guild and now seek the mastery of elements. The
path to where I am now has meant long hours of study, they said it was
going to be hard to I did not realise how hard. At the moment I am posted
in Hamsah Mu'tazz which seems very quiet at times and explodes into chaos
at others. The village of magic haters are a constant menace! How I hate
them! They have no respect for the Law and I have not had much success
fighting them. I spoke to an old Imperial last eve and they gave me some
ideas, I need to become more efficient at bringing criminals to justice
they all seem to escape me a moment before death.

Today was a glorious day I am a Magistrate! I spoke at length to a Felar
warrior Magistrate called Kaplanov, I liked him at once and I think he
liked me also since he asked the Provost Daemar to join us. After some
more discussion I was inducted into the Blood Tribunal, my post is in
Seantryn Modan. The city is quiet but I do not mind as it will give me a
chance to become accustomed to being a Magistrate. The Spire is huge, I
really think once could get lost in the library alone. My studies also
progress well, the Vindicator Odrirg helped another magistrate and I in
role + the Arial city, my guildmaster was pleased with what I was able to learn
there.

My study is difficult and my guildmaster is harsh, he demands perfection
of even the simplest of spells before he will even speak to me of going
further in my studies. I have made good progress with my spells I have
chosen the most difficult of paths that an Invoker can choose and have
decided to learn all of the elemental paths. There is much theory and
spell practice involved, I think I have many hard years ahead of me. Today
while in my guild a saw a Magistrate apprehend a murderer, soon I will
speak to the Provost and prove my worth to the Blood Tribunal.

Galadon is a cess pool of crime. I was feeling quite lost when I first
arrived but the mayor is friendly enough and in touch with the citizens
he was happy to point me in the direction of the Invokers guild. Everything
is so expensive, I spent almost all of the coin my father gave me just
to join the guild. Near the middle of the city there is an immense Spire
housing the Blood Tribunal. Crime is dealt with swiftly and harshly here
as far as I can see the Tribunal is the only thing keeping this city from
being swallowed by chaos.

Something amazing happened in our boring little town for the first time
in well forever! A pack of dire wolves came down from the mountains and
assaulted the gates, those guards were quaking in their boots it was all
they could do not to drop their swords! I thought we were done for but
then all of a sudden Master Namman the Invoker guildmaster was there, his
hands were burning fire and he stood on the battlements burning those
wolves where they stood. I could not have dreamed that he was able to do
all of that! He saved the tower single handed, he is worth one hundred
of the guards! I have made up my mind I am going to travel to Galadon
and join the Invoker guild, I have three more years of school left and
then I will go.

School is sooo boring, I hate those old men tellin me stuff I already
know. When I'm a guard I'm not going to need all that crap anyway so I
don't know why they make me learn it. My father is an important man in
Hillcrest and people respect him and his guards and they didn't need to
go to school for that. People respect him because he sees what the fools
that ask him for help are too stupid to see - the right answer. I can't
wait to learn how to use a sword, sometimes if it's quiet I can convince
a gate guard to show me some sword training, fifteen more years of school
before I can even think of picking up a sword, bah!
