Description
Before you stands a gnome of standard stature. He measures only three feet
tall and his whole appearance seems quite unruly. His hair is brown and
sticks out at strange angles with all manner of twigs and berries lost within
its tangles. His skin seems to be a mix of mottled tan and brown, but it is
unclear how much of the brown is dirt. He is pretty well muscled for such a
little being, but it is pretty obvious that he spends a lot of time working
outside. He carries a couple of weapons, but he seems to wield a trowel and
shovel just as often. His unusual blue eyes are very bright and there seems
to be a softness behind them. His mouth is curled up in a perpetual smile
and you sense he is a fairly happy little man!
As you look closer you notice that ...

It was a dark and stormy night, no, seriously, it was super dark and super
stormy. The Enforcer of Galadon was seen walking north out of Galadon trying
to appear discrete. He was wearing a dark cloak and he had switched out his
ornate Tribunal scabbard and shield for basic steel implements.I followed
him from Galadon as I thought it was a very curious thing to behold. We made
our way all the way to Udgaard and then he turned right and headed out into
the plains. He seemed to avoid the oneheart people like they were plagued
and unclean. Halfway through the plains he turned north onto a mountain
trail and made his way toward a little city on the side of the mountain. As
he approached the gate the Captain there saw him coming and ran inside the
guardhouse. He came out with a small bundle and handed to the Enforcer after
coin was exchanged. The Enforcer promptly turned around and headed back to
Galadon without stopping. I never could get close enough to see what the
bundle was, but I swear I could hear a sound like a baby cooing.
I swear on my guild that the above information is true!

Daddy says that all good mages need to keep a journal. I dont like to
write, but Im going to do it because I want to be like him. He gave me this
journalfor my thirteenth birthday, which was yesterday, so that I could
write about my life. He also gave me the coolest gift I have ever gotten, my
very own Garden Gnome! He is so cute! His hair is brown and he has these
big blue eyes. He grabbed my finger when I was holding him. I named him
Trabbi and he really seems to like berries and mineral water. He is only a
little thing, but he seems to really love going outside and playing in our
garden. He found a worm yesterday and ate it! It was so gross, but so cool
at the same time! The neatest thing is that when he walks near plants they
seem to kind of move toward him, and they look greener! They say that garden
gnomes are good luck! Trabbi is definitely the BEST GIFT EVER!!!!!

The Truth

I cant believe my little Polyana is all grown up and heading off to the mage
tower for schooling. It was just yesterday that she turned thirteen and I
gave her that little bugger and her first journal. That gnome has destroyed
more things in this house than any damn dog could have, but Polly would never
speak to me again if I got rid of him. Well, the time is drawing near when
she leaves that he can have a little accident. I hate to do it because our
vegetables from the garden have been the best things Ive ever tasted over
the last few years, but Im so tired of picking up his messes! He never
seems to cause the same sort of trouble outside, but inside it seems like he
is very uncomfortable and unruly. I cant even count the number of times I
had to help my little Polly find him hidden under some bush sleeping.
Hopefully her mother will understand what needs to be done so we can get rid
of the little bastard. I am certainly going to do my best to keep a few
vials of his blood around for more testing. I am glad Polly never figured
out why he looked more pale than usual on some days, and to his credit the
little bugger kept his word and didnt say anything after my threats.
I know that Polly sees him as her little friend and the best thing I ever got
her, but he sure cost me a lot of coin and favors with the Enforcer and
Tribunal Guard.Ill have to make sure I hire someone a little more uncouth
to take care of his coming departure.

the fire that burned down his house and claimed his life.
Learning The Truth

The sun shone brightly in the sky over Galadon as a small gnome and a human
girl walked hand in hand in a beautifully kept garden. They could be seen
laughing and playing together in the lush grass that appeared even greener
wherever the gnome lay.As the day wore on the gnome and girl were found
napping under the shade of the tree by the girls father. He seemed a very
angry individual and addressed the gnome with scorn as he told them to enjoy
their last day together. The girl cried and her father assured her that
everything would be ok, but that they wouldnt see each other hardly at all
anymore as she was going off to study. After her father went back inside the
little gnome also assured her that he would come to visit her. The two
hugged and the girl went inside to finishing packing her belongings. As was
his custom, the gnome found a nice little bush to curl up under.
After a few hours the gnome was awoken by a number of voices speaking in
hushed, yet angry tones. It was the girls father speaking with her mother
on the patio. He was making a number of gestures and posturing in such a way
to display his anger. He cursed the gnome and promised the mother that he
would make sure it had an "accident" in the near future. The mother
disagreed and seemed to plead with her husband not to have it be so. The man
slapped his wife and walked away, ending the discussion.
The gnome was very alert to the fact that his life would soon be in danger.
That night when the lights were out he snuck into the masters study and used
his innate ability to understand objects to figure out the pattern needed to
open the masters magical journal. Upon opening the journal the gnome
learned far more than he bargained for.He learned that he was purchased
illegally from some place called Hillcrest and that the Tribunal guard were
implicitly involved in trying to satisfy the desires of one of Galadons
riches patrons. He read of his own imminent demise once some time had passed
and the girl was lost in her studies at the mages tower. It was at this
moment something clicked in the gnomes mind and he knew what he must do.
A Plan For Freedom
Added Thu Aug 8 17:27:30 2013 at level 6:
A brisk warm wind was blowing from the desert to the far east of Galadon that
early evening. The gnome had hidden the ingredients the mistress had bought
for making a particular meal that day. The mistress finding herself without
certain things bid farewell to her husband as she headed off to market. The
gnome however was cornered by the master in the garden. The master of the
house had a look of sheer hatred in his eyes as he gazed upon the little
being. Without warning the master utter a cantation and water shot out at
the gnome from a number of directions. Being quick witted the gnome hid
behind a bush whose leaves grew very quickly to shield the small gardener.
Without thought the gnome reached out to the plants around him and the man
was quickly knocked unconscious by the limb of a large oak tree. Using all
of the might in his body the gnome dragged the man into the kitchen. He
quickly created a large fire that would not be able to be contained in the
stove.
He grabbed a small bag he had been hiding in the garden and walked away from
the place that had been his home for years. The winds from the east blew
against the flames that began to lick up the curtains of the windows all over
the house. A shout of alarm went up and a call for help with the fire spread
through the city guard.Their efforts, though valiant, were no match for the
power of the winds blowing in from the east, fueling the flames that would
consume this extravagant home. As smoke spread through the city a little
gnome could be seen making his way to a small wooded grove where a figure
waited with open arms and symbols of the phases of the moon on his robes.
"Welcome Trabbi, we have been waiting for you!"
The Beginning Of A Passion
Added Thu Aug 8 17:28:23 2013 at level 6:
Months and years have passed since the fateful events that informed Trabbi of
the truth of his past. A renewed sense of dislike for those who would sell
others for pleasure and build walls to keep plants at bay has continued to
grow in the mind of our small gnome. A passion for the plants and animals
around him springs eternal in his chest and our small gnome, who was once a
childs toy, has found a home in the Druid guilds of the lands. His
wanderings have taken him far throughout the lands and his education of
months with the mystics in the plains has taught him a passion for the return
of Thar-Eris. The ancients will awake, and the lands will be wild again, as
was the way of things.
