Description
A bald faced and bald headed fire giant towers before you. Endless
tangles and tendrils of steam waft off of the flesh as the
giant stands in the environment. Large, massively shaped
boards of armored material cover a vast majority of this
giant's body, giving him a look that is almost golem like
in construction and weight. Overt weapon, held with
obvious malice dominate its visage. Hovering within
his eye sockets, deeply sunken eyes, with tiny white pupils
staring outward, and darting from side to side. The most
obscure part of this giant is his hands and fingernails.
Both are outlandishly large, stone brick like, with nails
that extend almost like talons. They are short
and inwardly curved, creating an image of a juggarnaut
of substantial proportion and size.
Role
The mating of Cold and Hot makes for a Steamy offspring
Added Fri Jan 29 12:36:11 2021 at level 34:
In rare moments in Thera, comes together what most humanoids see as
complete opposites. In the giant world, when a fire giant and
a frost giant get "together" their offspring is a conflict in
ideas. This union, born under the stars of the para-elements brings
a giant that is both hot and cold. Trroug one of those products of
these kinds of unions. Trroug is considered what many call, a
"Steam Giant". Although not specifically made of steam, the
continual conflict within their flesh of cold and hot, brings about
an almost endless trailing and shedding of steam from its flesh.
Although there is an equalibrium that is reached (in that the giant
does not immediately die), there is a by-product that the giant
must continually seek water into its body to maintain the balance
rumbling within its flesh. Furthermore, these kinds of unions are
endlessly frowned upon by both the fire giant society and the frost
giant society. Both reject their claims on these giants, and almost
all of them are simply killed, their parents and then them kiled,
or at the very elast, exiled away to die a slow and painful death
away from the supports of the clan.
Trroug's father, a fire giant, quickly abandoned him and the mother
frost giant immediately after conception. It was a drunken night of
passion and dominance. This one wanted nothing to do with its
alcohol induced mistake. The frost giant mother did what she could at
first. Hiding the nature of he child, as best she could from the
Frozen Gorge clan she was part of. But after the third year, she became
less vigilant and left the child outside to play in the snow. The
child quickly gathered a crowd as she was distracted, as Trroug sat
in a snow drift, perfectly melting a massive circle around it from his
internal body heat. He was a pyre of steam in a village of frost giants.
The cruelty of frost giants are well known here. Trroug was then
immediately taken and placed within the cold depths of the frozen
wastes, to extinquish his heat that the frost giants found so
vile. Trroug's mother also suffered a fate, but one much quick, which
was simply immediate execution for making such a poor choice in
her life. It was time for the steam to be extinquished.
Jormyr Para-Elements Priest Sees...
Added Fri Jan 29 12:36:41 2021 at level 34:
There, in the frozen wastes, slowly freezing to death, Trroug sat.
His warmed body battling the cold as best it could, but it was not
winning the battle. Off on the side, a frost giant priest of Jormyr
watched the quiet battle in the frozen elements. The freezing death
pecking at Trroug slowly but surely. It was a process to end in only
one way. But the Priest believed in the hybrid vigor of the elements
mixing, and right before him was one such hybrid, in flesh and blood.
It was time for the priest to act. The massive frost giant scooped up
the withering and steaming giant, and took it under its protection.
There in the depths of the frozen wastes, away from any prying eyes
a frost and fire giant spawn was raised under the eyes of Jormyr and
taught the ways strength, hybrid vigor, and War. The priest had an
agenda with Trroug. Nothing in the wilds is free, and the path he
was putting Trroug on was to be a weapon of War. The child was not
taught the priestly ways, but instead the brutal physical ways. The
way of the warrior. He was taught of Victory, of War, and to pursue
it with reckless abandon. He was also taught of Thar-Eris, and how
his place was on the path of War against those that kept Her from
the rise. This is how Trroug found his path to the Outlanders, and
furthermore his deep-seeded path in War.
Released upon the Lands, Avatar of Jormyr and Panmorne
Added Fri Jan 29 12:37:34 2021 at level 34:
Much like a wild mustang is set free from its owners, Trroug was also
unleashed in a similar fashion. Untethered finally from the priest,
and fueled with the base teachings of fighting and war, Trroug
charged into the world of Thera on the War path. It took the teachings
of Thar-Eris, Jormyr and his brutality and embracing of the para-
elements, and stepped into the War path of Thera with a vengeance.:
Trroug has a special place for the teachings of Jormyr, but also
fully embraces the path of War, underneath the eyes of Panmorne.
Just as Trroug was born two two different forces, hot and cold,
Trroug follows the paths of both Jormyr and Panmorne. A hybrid of
flesh, and a hybrid of religion.
The Obsession of the Steams
Added Fri Jan 29 12:37:57 2021 at level 34:
Steam giants are born in the middle between the interaction of hot
and cold. Also in the middle is the cooling of hot and cold and in
that space is the process of Death. Vile and evil giants, steam giants
have a specific obession with the moment of death and the steam that
rolls off of a cooling corpse. There, in that moment, Trroug believes
he can collect and bask in the release of life and that release
empowers him. It is one of the driving reasons to kill for Thar-Eris
is to harvest the "steamses" from his enemies.
Trroug continually refers to it as his purpose, and his desire as
he talks with many others. It is one of the specific driving forces
of his will on Thera. To collect as much steamses for himself and
thus empower his soul.
Finding the Tree, Finding the Reaver
Added Fri Jan 29 12:38:19 2021 at level 34:
Trroug is a simple and brutal creature. He met with the Nightreaver
and spoke simply, with blood on his hands. The Nightreaver looked
at the steam giant in a strange way, wondering what exactly this
thing was. The Nightreaver questioned its true purpose, and if it
was truly a natural creature or a creature born of corruption.
The teachings of Jormyr and Panmorne came out, and in a strange moment
of clarity Trroug seems to be seen. The Nightreaver seemed to nod
knowingly that Trroug was a creature of Thar-Eris and so his path
solidified. He was now a Reaver, a War Reaver. That path to the
steamses harvesting is completed
Looking for Omens and Signs
Added Wed Feb 24 14:25:18 2021 at level 51:
Trroug is a mix of a Frost and Fire Giant. His Fire giant ways has
always been more forward and the majority personality of his flesh
and his mind. But internally he is conflicted in that for the Frost
ways embraces Jormyr and the Para-Elements of the combination of the
heat of the fire giant, and the cold of the frost giant. The Fire
ways embraces Panmorne and the ways of War. Trroug's soul has constantly
be looking for signs, and those signs will activate which way Trroug
begins to lean and whom will fill his soul.
The Frost way within Trroug also has a name, that up to this point has
been buried within his flesh and mind. It is called Guorrt. When the
timing is right, the last name of Trroug will be set to it, and will show
the beginning of the duality of his personality.
Therefore Trroug is looking for signs from either Jormyr or Panmorne.
Those signs can be anything, but needs to involve them directly. Either
them coming to him specifically to speak, or being nearby or within
their aura. From there Trroug's direction will begin to gel.
The OMEN of JORMYR!
Added Wed Feb 24 14:25:39 2021 at level 51:
During the learning within the misty forests near the Nightwalkers, out
of nowhere Lord Jormyr showed. A wash of frigid cold air came over all
those there. Lord Jormyr was not there for Trroug, but instead was
distracted and bullying the gnome shapeshifter Outlander. His massive
size and true evilness came across as he toyed with the flesh and battered
the gnome mentally with harsh words and tracing of runes in the air.
This activated quietly inside of Trroug, Guorrg, the Frost giant way
within Trroug. This seed then is slowly growing to soon become aware
within his personality.
The OMEN OF PANMORNE!
Added Wed Feb 24 14:26:39 2021 at level 51:
Trroug has been warring successfully against the enemies of Thar-Eris
and murdering many defilers and turning them into steam piles. His Fire
giant way has been filled with War of all kinds. Trroug wanted to prove
himself first upon the battlefield of War before approaching Lord Panmorne
and he was also waiting for a sign. That sign came when word came that
Lord Panmorne sought an arena challenge for many to come and show their
abilities.
Trroug embraced this challenge and showed at the Arena battle. There many
attended, and there in the flesh was Lord Panmorne. This sign stirred
the Fire way of Trroug. Through the battles, Trroug dominated all of the
battles until he faced a monk elf paladin. The elf sat in champion stand
and kept Trroug from truly causing him enough pain to take him down, and
ultimately fell. The words of Panmorne echoed in Trroug's mind. "What did
you learn from this?" mentioned the War God.
Trroug fundementally knew the answer. There was no despair, there was only
learning, and excitement for the next engagement, armed with the new
experience.
Both the Fire way and the Frost way have been activated. It is now for the
internal conflict and how they will finally meld back together.
