Description
A petite dark-elf is here at a scant five feet of height and slender as a
bean stalk. Her hair is soft and flowing as if spun snow cascades down her
shoulders and feathers out at her mid back. Sleek arms and legs of
obsidian peek out of her clothing to reveal very thin muscles that still
maintain definition. Her lips are slightly more pale than her skin and seem
to be in a perpetual smirk, even when she sleeps. Delicate ears peek from her
hair with the points just below the top of her skull. Her eyes appear a deep
olive color with hints of red glinting when light hits them.

The Pursuit of Beginnings

It was early on when I became curious what happiness was and why individuals
search for it. My mother was the Matriarch of the Ad'tano house, truly not a
large house by any means, and was too small to be involved in any politics of
the great houses. I'd watch her as she brooded in boredom upon her throne and
passed scathing remarks to myself and my older sisters, let alone the poor
wretched males in the house. To them it was misery, to me it was intriguing.
They have no worries of dying or going hungry, and yet they were all antsy.
Then a fight between two greater houses, one of which we were attached too,
brought us into action. The anger and hate was lashed about with great
abandon and words were always heated when discussing their enemies. Yet, I
could see the glee in their eyes that indicated a deeper happiness than the
dullness of before. Could it be that these intelligent individuals were more
excited and happy during a time of duress and possible death? It was
interesting to myself and set me on my own path towards enlightenment of
inner happiness.
The Pursuit of Knowledge

The curiousity within me burned to be let free. What was I here but an
observer of a minor house with older sisters who will become the house
Matriarch and leave me where I am? I had to have a change if I were to know
more. I began to sneak out and see how other beings within Teth Azeleth
behaved. Did they have similiar ways of behaving to those I had already
observed? I approached some lowly orcs, little more than beast of burden
really but they did have a certain cunning and intelligence to them. I
observed them for a time and came to find they had no joy. Can they still
have joy? Can that passion light their eyes? I began to experiment with them.
I'd bring some fresh meat and have them fight eachother for it. The winner
would get the meat, and the loser would go away beaten. However, the next
time I came with the meat, the beaten one would be back again, hope in his
little piggie eyes. Even though he was worse off than he was before this
situation, he was more excited by the prospect of change! This was a
breakthrough for me as I learned that negative influences create an
environment where positive possibilities are more fullfulling. I had to know
more!
The Pursuit of Passions

I could learn no more in the depths of the Underdark. The selection of
specimens was too small and my power to influence events too limited. I had
some limited training as a priestess and excelled in all my training so I
felt I was more than prepared to escape to the feared world of burning light.
The surfaced did indeed burn! At times I felt as if my head would explode,
and yet it felt exquisite to me all the same. It was different than what I
had always felt. New and exciting! How could I know just how comforting the
shadows were without ever experiencing this? Surely none of my family even
consider how pleasant the coolness of the shadows are. I began to consider if
the same holds true to those of the surface. The pleasure of healing after
pain, food after hunger, water after thirst. All these contrasts are what
make the opposite so succulent and amazing. To struggle past an obstacle
and claw ones way toward a goal is to experience misery along the journey's
path, but without attempting such a struggle one would not enjoy the fruits
of their rewards.
The Pursuit of Power

There are so many apathetic fools in this world. There are those who need a
little pain in their lives and those who needs someone to guide them to a
more passionate path. I've found the perfect place to play my games and lead
others to their own passions. This Empire, it has a brutal heart with a
passion for something glorious. A civilization all controlled from a central
location, much like a stern parent who guides their children. Within it's
arms anyone with the courage and fortitude to crawl through the vicious ranks
can attain some power. Those who lack the passion to try will simply be put
in their proper places by those who can. I myself will follow this path,
struggling towards the lofty goal of Emperor from the lowly peon. First, I
need more power. I found that while I know the basics of healing and could
call upon somepower, I would need much more to make changes in this world.
The power of the Spider Goddess would avail me naught in this world or with
my desires. I had to search out a new power, one that could appreciate my
ways and what I seek to do. I was never one to be too overly concerned with
the means of how things get done, so long as what I want does indeed happen.
I read about a God named Whiysdan whom might appreciate the passion I wish to
stir in others. The happiness I will bring them with conflict and pain to
contrast their boring existences. So many things of legendary proportions he
will get to witness. I might even consider that I will be bringing this God
happiness as well. An interesting thought! Yes, I think this is the path I
shall pursue. A power to increase my priestly abilities and in return many
provide stories to keep him intrigued as I encourage, through various means,
others into their passions.
A Change of Pace

The Priest of the Golden Wit, Ackohin, has spoken with me. It seems I have,
in my initial ignorance upon coming to the surface, chosen a God who may not
'enjoy' being within my company. This is a set back to be sure, and yet
perhaps the Lucky Lord has smiled upon me in a way. One must be willing to
make changes in their course when needed. The Priest mentioned that I should
consider seeking Lord Arvam. This God seems to be quite interesting,
encouraging his followers to be so passionate about learning new things. This
could be a good fit with my personality I think! The Empire has those who
just live from day to day, not caring about the details or about true
progression of a society. An Empire, in order to truly progress throughout
the world, must be open minded to new ideas. They also must have the passion,
and the courage to act on their passion, to push into positions of glory!
Those who do not, are simply slaves. Even slaves have their place, but they
are no longer individuals to be respected. The only set back is I know of no
priests of this God and must find a place of suitable for an initial contact.
Opportunities

An opportunity has presented itself. The previous Empress has passed and a
new Empress has been corronated from the Imperial High Priestess. A vacancy
which I intend to fill. With such a position I would be able to order those
under me in the Divine Sect to be more proactive in spreading the truth of
the Glorious Empire! The passion would spread among the peoples of Thera and
a perfect society could be achieved with enough effort on the part of many.
