Description

A short and stout person stands in front of you with haze grey skin. He has a lean muscular build about his stooped form of one who is not unaccustomed to physical labor. He stands about four foot tall bent with age and has a mop of gray and white hair atop his round head.. As you look closer you notice a he has an age worn and wrinkled but handsome face. Above his well defined perfectly proportioned nose you notice a pair of piercing blue eyes framed in crow's feet that seem to sparkle when the light hits them. Below these is a pair of well formed and full reddish pink lips framed in the wrinkles of age though still curved upwards in somewhat of a friendly smile. You can surmise by looking at him that he has passed into the twilight of his life In the buttonhole of his cloak you notice a freshly picked purple lotus flower.

Turmi Hartac is the son of Caelruli, guardian of the Galadonian
shapeshifter's guild. He grew up in Galadon which is the crossroads of Thera.
While growing up there he has seen all kinds of people pass through and has
observed just about every race, guild, and political faction you can imagine.
His father enrolled him in the shapeshifter's guild when he was of age but
Turmi was an utter failure at even the simplest of spells, at one point he
was able to cast an armor spell, but that was the extent of his abilities.
What he did however do was excell at the martial aspects of the guild,
dealing with weapons and fighting. It was a sad day when Turmi had to give up
the family guild and moved to the warriors's guild, he has since then been a
steadfast protector of magic.

Nexus and Religeon

Turmi Hartac having seen all of the world he did growing up in galadon grew
up with a desire to protect the world, as he had seen how all of the
different people in the world had thier places, With a few exceptions. He
realized that he had come to love those within it and saw himself as a
shepherd, with the whole world as his flock. This lends to his generally
peacefull demeaner most of the time, as a shepherd doesnt kill his sheep
unless they endanger the rest of the flock. He also has a tendancy to try to
heal the sick within his flock when they hurt, as he does not enjoy seeing
his flock suffer, it is his duty to heal them. This leads to his following of
Rayihn, the beliefs in her fall in with his natural beliefs from his
upbringing, and he follows her and hopes to learn more from her to be able to
better tend to his flock.

Lessons Learned

Turmi Hartac has learned a lot from his greatest attempts at healing, some
about himself and some about others. his first big attempt at helping someone
else with deep set issues was a young bard named Sophie, his songbird. She
had a problem where she had been abused and neglected as a child, and had
grown to be short of statue. She was forever a child in her mind and felt
rejected by the world because her sorrows always showed through in her art.
Turmi worked on making her feel loved and cared for, as he cared for her he
realized that he himself always felt like an outsider too because of his
failure within the shapeshifter's guild. This helped him learn to accept that
he had found his calling in life as a shepherd rather than a member of the
flock. His next attempt was with a storm giant Sirala, she had issues with
self confidence and because of such was having issues having the confidence
to ply her trade, he tried to help her as best he could get better at her
craft and gain in confidence, and feel more self worth. As she went she
gradually improved, but then sunk into a deep dark place, and left the world
forever. Turmi learned that he himself had sometimes sunk into dark places,
and now was better able to see when he did so and pull himself out.

Love and Pain

Dealings with the scion Mirozah have lead Turmi to see what love can be like
when it is twisted and used as a tool. Though his Lady has wisely used it to
turn it around on the person trying to use it. By using a care Mirozah has
but doesnt realize She has been deeply hurt by being cut off from Turmi,
causing a lot of pain, so much that Mirozah has tried impersonating rangers,
tried coming up with any rationalization why she should not be cut off. She
started being cut off by defiling the bath house and repeatedly treating the
lady as she would a mere mortal, with utter disrespect and malice. This has
helped define to him and show him that Mirozah is not worthy of his love, as
she places conditions on it and asks that he completely devote himself to her
and choose her over his Lady, rather than being willing to share.

Reflections

As time has passed Turmi has seen many adversaries and allies come and
go in his life. He has come to understand that with love at times can come a 
pain much different than the one Mirozah had caused. A good pain, one that 
lets you know you have lived your life right, that others would return the
love you show them. Many of his friends from his youth are gone, Hothgar,
Twizoua, and Azzul have all left him to name a few. He had loved them all like
family. The pain of their loss though is not a bad thing, it is a constant
reminder to him that he had the privilege of having them at his side. He also
sees the loss of ones like Gilut, Klibendon and Ogun, though they never saw
eye to eye, Turmi always saw them as part of his flock, and he never wished
to see them hurt, though duty forced it from time to time. They were all good
men, who were just overzealous in their beliefs, he had tried to help
them see error of their ways by showing them respect and love. As he moves
forward he is constandly driven forward by the love and beauty of his Lady
Rayihn to overcome anything that might hinder him.  He moves forward
pouring his love into the Island that has become the home to him and his
family, trying to ensure it will thive well after he is gone.

More reflections

Upon reaching four and a half centuries in age Turmi has realized that time
is catching up to him. He no longer feels as spry when he wakes up in the
morning, his bones ache and his joints creak. He looks in the mirror and sees
the same face of his teacher when he was younger staring back at him,
wrinkled and wise. He does not feel the same strength in his arms to swing
his swords he once felt when he was younger. The time for the making of his
legacy is gone, he is in the twilight of his life and the sun is slowly
setting. It is time now for Turmi to pass on what he has learned to the
younger generations so that they may carry on the delicate task of protecting
the world. Turmi smiles in satisfaction knowing that he has helped mend a
broken Island that was dwindling and dieing when he took over, he has seen it
thrive and brought in generations of new faces to fight the battle. Now it is
full of those of all kinds those that wish to fight, those that wish to
teach, and most importantly, those who wish to learn. As he lives on he hopes
to share memories and wisdom he has gained in life.
