Description

The golden brown skin of this Elf is a reflection of long hours spent under the sun's embrace. There is the occasional spot upon his skin, due to scar tissue. Most visible of these scars is the twisted lines that wrap around his wrists. Another curious scar is a jagged line that trails the underside of his forearm. He looks to be in good health though. And a vibrant aura of holiness exudes from his presence. The aura seems out of place, given that this man does not look much like a priest, but rather, he is dressed for combat. His armors are plain and variegated. His unkempt burgundy hair grows long, flowing freely from beneath his headgear. And his face is rough and uneven, with a thin layer of dirt and grime covering it. - * * * - This Elf seems different than most. He lacks the cheerful, or otherwise energetic presence that is renown amongst Elvenkind. His features and body language are devoid of any emotion. That doesn't make him any less aware of his surroundings though. Sensing your scrutiny, he looks back at you square in the eyes. Unyielding.

Role

Turos' Rescue

Added Sat May 5 10:18:53 2007 at level 4:
Turos came to be saved by a group of holy crusader's who were raiding
Aran'gird, to fight back the evil that spills from the unholy residence of
Duergar. The group came across the cell that Turos was being detained in.
When they entered the cell to rescue Turos, he had tried fighting them, and
even bit one of them. It was a terrible sight for the crusader's. To see an
Elf so far lost, out of his mind and afraid. A Storm giant (healer) stepped
forth towards Turos, and offered his healing touch. With that, the Storm
giant swept Turos off the group and into his embrace. They fell back to the
rear lines of the raiders, away from the exposure to fighting. Turos rested
his head finally, and began to weep softly...Those would be the last tears
any would see from him.

At the end of the battle, the crusader's setup camp on the outskirts of the
Duergar city. Turos was one amongst a half dozen other slaves rescued that
day. The group anticipated rescuing slaves, and thus had already determined
they would split their group up to get them to safety. Off the slaves went,
with the Storm giant (healer) and Dwarf (paladin), to make their way back to
the surface. Looking at Turos, the Storm giant asked what his name was, but
received no answer from him. Momentarily perplexed, the Storm giant said
"Well, we can't just call you 'hey you'." He looked towards the Dwarf and
asked for a name suggestion. The Dwarf thought for a moment, and replied with
Turos.

be taken care of, and try to salvage the rest of their lives. Turos was still
scared at this point, and was reluctant to leave the Storm giant's grasp. The
healer knelt down before Turos after setting him on the ground, "I'll let you
in on a little secret, Turos. This man here (referring to Jaragh) can teach
you everything you'll need to know. You may hate those slavers, but that hate
will never erase what happened. Nothing ever will erase what happened. These
scars you bear, let them be your reminder. Because it is about where you go
from here Turos, and what you will accomplish in this lifetime. Listen to
Jaragh, Turos. Can you do that for me?" And Turos responded with a nod and a
hug.

Error in last paragraph of first role: Turos' Rescue

The group arrived to the Balator Orphanage, where the slaves would hopefully
be taken care of, and try to salvage the rest of their lives. Turos was still
scared at this point, and was reluctant to leave the Storm giant's grasp. The
healer knelt down before Turos after setting him on the ground, "I'll let you

Prequel: Turos' Capture

Added Sat May 5 10:48:35 2007 at level 4:
Turos grew up as one of the "Wild Elves" in the Vale outside of Darsylon,
with his mother, father and two sisters. It was typical for he and his
sisters to be out picking berries, gathering buckets of water, or just
playing in general. There were always placed that his parents restricted them
from going to, because of the potential dangers. But that is normal for the
valley Elves to deal with. They don't have the security or the luxuries that
the Darsylonian Elves have.

Turos found himself too close to the restricted areas, and ultimately paid
the price. He was abducted by a group of Dark-Elven scouts. They wrapped a
sack over his head and dragged him into the Underdark without anyone ever
seeing them. He was taken back to their headquarters where he would be judged
and given a value placement to be sold. The Duergar would buy Elven slaves
whenever possible, because of their ability to handle mithril, unlike the
Dark-Elven (male) slaves they purchase frequently.

Sold to the Duergar, Turos' trouble life would begin--something he keeps a
secret to current day. Everyday was the same in Aran'gird. He would work the
mines. They would barely feed and water him. They would beat and rape him.
Then throw him back in his holding cell. Turos cannot say with any certainty
how long this went on for--he doesn't even know his own age anymore. There
was no hope left. He prayed for death to take him away everyday he was there.

He nearly got what he wished for when he attempted to cut his wrists on a
jagged rock. In the process, he was encountered by a spirit. Whether it was
just an illusion create by his subconscious, or truly was the light of
heaven, is irrelevant. Turos was saved that day, being told not to give in,
and not to lose faith.

From that day on, Turos would just smile or laugh whenever the Duergar abused
him. He would not shed tears for them anymore. He would not give them that
satisfaction. After some time of this, even the Duergar began to think the
Elf was crazed. The Duergar feed off of the hate and pain of others. And when
that was no longer there, the abuse lessened. They were no longer satisfied
by Turos. This was his first victory...amongst many to come.

Balator Raising

Added Sat May 5 11:03:01 2007 at level 4:
As an orphan in Balator, Turos felt like an outsider. But then, most orphans
do. He knew he was not the same anymore, and never would be. He thought about
trying to return home, but quickly dismissed that. It would be too shameful
for him. So he remained at the orphanage, suffering several years of
depression and being alone. He did not speak a single word during this entire
time.

Turos reminded himself everyday of what the Storm giant had said to him. But
the words just seemed meaningless to him. Except one day, he put more thought
into it. He had to stop feeling sorry for himself. The other orphans weren't
having the same problems--but then, maybe they didn't go through the same
thing? Nonsense! He WAS saved. He HAS been given another chance at life. To
give up would be to shame those who rescued him. To shame his family. And
most importantly, he would shame himself.

Turos approached Jaragh nervously that day, which couldn't have made Jaragh
anymore pleasantly surprised. But Jaragh made it very clear to Turos that
what he had to teach was not going to be easy to learn. Jaragh told Turos he
would only mentor him if he started going to class, and he had to start
working and playing with the other orphans. It took several months for Turos
to fully introduce himself to the orphanage life. But Turos had a lot of
motivation. He was truly inspired by Jaragh and what he had to teach--just as
much as Jaragh was inspired by the heroic tale of Turos.

Finally a day came when Jaragh had to tell Turos that there wasn't anything
more he could teach him. It was time for Turos to move on to the next stage
of his life. He would apply for the Paladin's Academy, and learn the basic
tenets. This would also be the place Turos would be introduced to the
religion of the Bleeding Scimitar of Muhadin...

Introduction with Muhadin An'hallah

Added Tue May 8 00:53:48 2007 at level 16:
Now a graduate of the Paladin's Academy, Turos has sworn faith and devotion
to Lord Muhadin An'hallah. He stood there in the holy temple, praying for the
strength of Light, and with the blink of an eye, the desert winds carried him
off to the place of Muhadin. Turos could immediately feel the Light in His
presence, which is the hope he had been searching for.

There in the desert, Muhadin began to impart his lordly wisdom unto Turos. It
was very important for Turos to listen closely. There is much for him to
learn, and much for him to gain by understanding the creed of Muhadin. Having
earned his initiation amongst the Faithful, Turos will consider what has been
placed before him with humble reasoning. There are still many questions, and
still many answers left.

Muhadin An'hallah is the only true path of Light.

The only true path is through Muadin An'hallah.

The only true god is Muhadin An'hallah.

The Temple, Tenets and Paradise

Added Thu May 17 00:01:10 2007 at level 25:
The more Turos interacts with Muhadin, and learns of his tenets and will, the
more he realizes His path is the way of true Light. All should seek paradise,
and how faithful one is on the path of Light, will determine whether or not
they will receive paradise. Each individual should want to lead a good,
honest and moral life. To attribute something positive to society and their
community. To grow up with a rich and full childhood, then grow into
man-or-womanhood, perhaps fall in love with their significant other, have a
home and raise their own children...To simply have a successful life.
Freedom.

Not all are given these simple opportunities. Innocence is stripped away from
the unwilling. Being born into chaotic, evil lives, which they are led to
believe is normal. Or whatever other reason there may be. It is not for
mortals to judge the purity or impurity of the heart and soul. Turos will
leave that task to his Lord, Muhadin An'hallah.

This judgment is where the bloody crusade begins. Turos has accepted this
mission, and believes in it more each day. It is a lot to accept, though he
will carry out his duties, as though they were the will of Muhadin himself.
Turos has been well informed that he may not ever see paradise become a
reality on earth. Though it is through his actions this day, the next, and so
forth, that will someday bring paradise on earth.
