Description

Your gaze falls upon a very average looking man. He is not very well built, nor is he particularly handsome. Short blonde hair falls onto his forebrow, and the light traces of a beard can be detected on his face. He carries himself very evenly, neither holding his head high nor letting it hang. He is surprisingly garbed in the clothes of a Knight, and your gaze hones in upon his ears. Thin and almost triangular they carve an odd shape on the sides of his head. Despite his bland exteriour, he moves with a subtle grace. His thin arms and legs seemingly far more trained than the eye would suggest. As your gaze pulls away from him, you notice that...

Role

Goals for his future.

Added Mon Oct 31 06:10:15 2005 at level 51:
Ulothrye is now fully mature. Though he would be hard pressed to admit it,
he feels that he is a Paladin worthy of his noble guild and of his Divine Lord.
His battles with the taint have had their ups and downs, but for the most part
he feels as though he faced his most deep fears, and vanquished them or given his all.

He does have much that he still aspires to accomplish.
Hrugald is constantly bugging him about serving the Fortress as their Captain,
and though he isn't certain he is worthy of the position, he knows that
in his heart it would be an honor that he never dared dreaming of.

As is the nature of Ulothrye, he hopes one day to bear the mark of courage. That
of the Great Bear. He has been honored many a time by the Great Bear, but he believes
he should always be striving to be a better Paladin and pillar of courage.

Lastly, Ulothrye throughout his many travels has taken many a loss.
He embraces this as part of his path, but he plans on seeking out his Lord
Ordasen for a quest to maintain his vitality so that he may serve the light
for some time longer. He hopes that one day the Azure embraces him, but he hopes
that that day is still a while ahead of him.

His time in the Fortress.

Added Sun Oct 23 16:03:52 2005 at level 51:
Ulothrye has slowly and slowly grown more comfortable in the Fortress. Where he was
at first conflicted with how to deal with his bond to his Lord and his bond to the
Maran, he feels as though he has found a balance between the two. He prides himself
on battling the wicked fiercely when the time calls for it, and proving his courage
with every battle as would make his father proud.
New aspects of Ulothrye have come to light, as he has made friends with many
of the brethren of the gray halls. Along with that, nemisis's have shown themselves, the
primary ones being Harkan and Mizzarah. Perhaps it is because they question his
dedication to his Lord and his courage that he feels he must prove himself
to them whenever he is questioned. Though slowly he comes to realize that the true
importance of his mission lies not on his tongue, but on his hands and his blade.

Lastname

Added Thu Sep 29 14:16:00 2005 at level 40:
Grizzlemane is certainly not a nickname that Ulothrye has by choice.
It is something her father used to call him when he was ever so young.
The name originated on a trip his father brought him upon into the far north, the
only trip of great length Ulothrye ever went on wit his father. They climbed
through the river and woods to bypass Udgaard and came to some frigids plains in constant
turmoil. There his father took council with a group of paladin, in ever combat with
Udgaard raised soldiers. What is to note of this journey, is that one morning his father
awoke and Ulothrye was nowhere to be found. In a panic, he searched the camp for him, without
success. Finally he waded out of the campground into the cold and snow. He had not walked
far before he hear a guttural roar. He slowly made his way towards the origin of the roar until
he could see where it was coming from. Two massive bears were engaged in a fight or
spar of some sort, and the clash was a frightening thing to behold. His eyes shifted
to see that he had found Ulothrye. Sitting peacefully cross-legged was the young
paladin, clearly enchanted by this clash of titans. His face bore no worry or fear, even though
he sat no more than ten paces from the bears.

Following this day, his father would call him Grizzlemane for his uncanny interest in
these great creatures. His father ever holds to this day that Ulothrye holds a bond with the
two great bears he watched that frigid morning.

Struggles

Added Mon Sep 26 02:56:35 2005 at level 37:
Without a doubt, Ulothrye has seen hard times. He in no way feels
'sorry' for himself, or does he lose faith in his path. He does however
think he needs to improve his combat maneuvers and techniques for him
to become the paladin of Lord Ordasen that he hopes one day to be.
He has fought many battles, and tried to learn what he could from them.
He has however shied from the place of worship of his Lord Ordasen, as he
feels he is unworthy to stand in his shrine until he is battle hardened as a true
knight.

Courage

Added Sat Sep 17 18:14:55 2005 at level 1:
There is one thing that his father insisted he value above all other things...Courage.
'To fear something is natural, but to face your fears is courageous'. These
words stuck with Ulothrye since he was young, and though he has faced very
that most would consider frightening, he has tried to face them, and give his best.
It is to this he holds.

Who is Oluthrye?

Added Sat Sep 17 18:11:41 2005 at level 1:
Oluthrye is the descendant of a peasant man, and an elvish maiden.
He was raised with love and tenderness, and saw little darkness or injustices
in his youth. He himself is aware of the bubble he has lived in, and it is what
pushes himself to see new places, meet new people and see what else lies beyond
the small world he has so far known. Kindness, generosity, the paladin code itself
were ingrained into his upbringing, and he holds the code dear to his heart. He is
aware from stories of the evil that still lingers in the land, and he now wishes to find its
root, and test himself against it.
