Description
You see a thin dark-elf standing here with shoulder
length white hair. It is well kept and tied back
tightly into a top knot that keeps it out of his
face. His pointed ears frame his somewhat gaunt
ebony colored face. He has deep black eyes that
shine with intelligence but very little warmth. He
has an obviously slim frame that he tries to cover
with heavy black robes. Upon his left hand you can
see scarlett markings that overlay an incredibly
detailed tattoo. You take note that there is a
distinct smell to this dark-elf that is almost
sulphuric.

Introduction

Undemelm always had a thirst for obscure, lost or hidden knowledge.
He spent much of his childhood reading, studying and in prayer as
he had natural ability to commune with the gods, he could grasp
the very basic abilities but knew there was so much more to learn.
He equates knowledge with personal growth and power, ultimately
Undemelm believes that knowledge is power. He knows there are
weapons, artifacts and secrets of such influence in the depths
Hell, the Silent Tower or the Shadow plane that could let a man
such as he with very little martial skill to gain dominion over
Thera.
He also realizes that he is going to need help to get and learn
what he wants so he has decided to lend his skills to the Empire's
cause. He will need soldiers to dissect the secrets of the world,
sacrifices to be left behind in the name of progress.
Undemelm's thirst lead him inevitably to learning of Ishuli and
the Eternal Library. The singleness of vision and thought, the
dedication to knowledge. Undemelm started praying to the Witch
at a young age as he believes she is the fuel for his passion,
she is the reason he strives forward.
Undemelm is not a man of force, but he is a man of action. He
doesn't have friends, he has people he needs to further his
own ambitions and abilities that he can use to enslave them
to his will. People will like Undemelm, but they may not
realize how calculated and cold he really is. He looks for
benefits and opportunities in everything.
Life so far.

Undemelm has progressed a fair way through the ranks of the
Empire, the Emperor has told him that he wishes to name him the
new High Priest. The former High Priestess, having fallen the last
time in battle. He has prepared himself for a life dedicated to the
Empire a path set upon towards finding the ancient secrets of Thera.
Dreams of unlocking ancient plagues that only he can cure or
resurrections of long dead Imperial figureheads would often play
themselves out in his dreams.
Undemelm has also been tasked by the Emperor upon his appointment as
High Priest to send terms to the Blood Tribunal to cast any and all
Anathema from their ranks or be prepared to face the full resolve of
Imperial law. A duty he accepts willingly. His path merely beginning
and yet already so much has passed.
Undemelm plans return for prayers in the Eternal library once he has
reached the pinnacle of his guild and can finally begin preparations
towards his ultimate goals.
Undemelm knows the Witch guides his path, his dedication to her only
grows with every promotion. Through the gifts that she bestows upon
him he will expand the reach of the Empire. He preaches Darkness and
Order to bring in fresh recruits that he can command. His ultimate
goal is to have able footmen to do his bidding. All he can do is
focus on the present and do what he can to be named High Priest.
Ancient Artifacts. Power and Effect. A comprehensive look.

I, Undemelm Erusu, Imperial High Priest undertake possibly one of
the most dangerous research endeavors ever attempted. Through the
focus of Imperial power I plan to venture into the depths of the
Inferno and study the devils trapped within her bowels. It is long
rumored that these denizens guard powerful relics and weapons that
could sway the tides of any mortal war.
It is my intention to retrieve as many potent weapons, relics and
armors that I can and then determine the side effects of each of
these devices upon Imperial soldiers. Beyond the obvious benefits
in combat it is entirely possible that the Arch-devils of Hell have
created these items with the sole purpose of facilitating their
release upon the world. I will assign certain members of the Divine
sect to those who have been granted these artifacts to watch for
changes in personality, physiology or spirituality.
Ultimately, I, as High Priest and driven by the spark of Ishuli as
I am, will make final determinations in all cases. This study will be
long, it will not end well for everyone and as leader of the Divine
sect it is upon me to ensure the spiritual well being of the Empire.
Divine members will be instructed to watch for notable changes and
instructed to provide any further details they feel may be relevant:
Excessive bloodlust or other chaotic tendencies must be reported to
the High Priest at once.
Any spontaneous changes in head structure, horns, different eye
color or changes in skin tone must be reported to the High Priest
at once.
Sudden interest in worshiping Arch-devils as Gods, many of these
denizens hide their chaotic natures. This must be reported to the
High Priest at once.
Authors note:
The details will need to be updated as we move toward first braving
the depths of the Inferno and finding then conquering the current
profiteers of these items. We must first discover what we can and
then assign and observe from there. I will take individual examinations
of those who are granted ownership of any ancient artifact upon their
assignment.
My first expedition into the depths of the Inferno. Chapter 1.
Added Sun Mar 19 13:22:27 2017 at level 51:
In retrospect it seems fitting that we set out on the morn of the Day of the
Bull in the Month of Futility. Our expedition was not as successful as we had
hoped yet through our perseverance and sheer force of will, we managed to
accomplish something that few others, if any could ever claim.
We set out with an Imperial host lead by our Emperor Glikhardiz N'rhaka,
the Imperial Blades Shalic and Kotu Blackflame my Imperial Priest Polzar
and of course myself, Undemelm Erusu, Imperial High Priest.
With Imperial efficiency we managed to track Baphomet to his throne of unholy
passion and fought the mighty devil to his end. After days of battle, Kotu in
the end, finally struck a killing blow with his mighty axes. Our first victory,
our first spoils. The Fiery Crown of Baphomet was claimed by myself, Undemelm
Erusu, Imperial High Priest.
From there we marched towards Anazu the Minister of Pain. On our way we stumbled
upon a couple of lost paladins, they would not submit to Darkness and Order so we
ended their crusade in the darkest of places. They held a ring of regeneration that
undoubtedly assisted their descent thus far which was claimed by my Elite, Polzar.
Upon finally encountering the Minister of Pain, his guile was not enough to
stop the force of Imperial dominion. In the end Anazu threw a final, desperate
blast of acid towards Emperor Glikhardiz as Kotu snuck up behind him and felled
him with a violent pincering of his axes. Another victory and more spoils added
to the Imperial ranks. His copper mask, now property of the Empire. Claimed again
by myself, Undemelm Erusu, Imperial High Priest.

From here we circled around towards Borunbrue the Callous and engaged him in a
furious onslaught that once again ended with Kotu's axes delivering the final
outcome. The sparking fulminator gauntlets were then given to Citizen Xarthius
for his loyalty to the Empire.
Further study will be required of an artifact we acquired in our next fight.
The Navigator's compass acquired from Chinazzi the Navigator of the Hell's.
Ancient legends rumored that his compass could help travelers through the
Dreary woods. It is definitely something we should investigate further should
we make it to that depth again.
At this point, we sought out Mephistopheles and his Herald Y'garon after a
brutally savage fight, Kotu felled Y'garon while Polzar managed to land the
decisive blow against Mephistopheles himself. The grinning devil shield was
claimed by myself while Mephistopheles' chestplate of unholy flame was claimed
by Polzar.

Added Sun Mar 19 13:56:35 2017 at level 51:
We decided to press further down into the lower circles so we could learn and
conquer what we could, however, upon entering the Dreary woods we wandered for
what seemed like months. In the end, we all blacked out, the world crumbling
down around us and upon waking, I found that I was alone. Several hours later
I found Kotu wandering as I was and regrouped but we never found any of the
others that had descended with us. Our once proud Imperial host, cut to two
in the unwaking darkness. The forest, undoubtedly had claimed it's victims.
Kotu and I continued our trek through the woods and through a sheer stroke of
luck we emerged from the southern borders. We decided to explore our new
surroundings as best we could, we unwisely set out through a vast desert that
appeared beyond the horizon of the Dreary Forest and stumbled upon a Crater
that the Arch-Devil Moloch and his two lieutenants, Xartroth and Ierjannon
took residence. Having ventured so far and fought so often to get here we
decided to plan and make our attack, we weren't leaving empty handed.
The ensuing battle lasted weeks and was by far the most fiercely contested
battle I have ever been part of, there were moments where the sheer ferocity
of their strikes could have ended Kotu if I had even the slightest lapse of
judgment. Luckily, the Witch Ishuli smiled upon our journey and we finally
emerged victorious. Kotu claiming the large bronze brazier while I was
able to obtain the talisman of ultimate evil from Ierjannon. When we return
next if we do not lose the bulk of our host to the Forest or desert, Moloch
will udoubtedly join his lieutenants.
Kotu had desire to meet with Satan himself so I let myself be named to Antaeus
so that I may observe any changes in my fire giant companion as he is now
marked by the Prince of Darkness. My dreams of unlocking the secrets of the
Inferno grow closer, the relics that we have thus far unlocked have been in
the hands of mortals before. They warrant some examination though history has
already done much of the work for us. Further trips will allow us to better
prepare to do battle with the pitfiends themselves in the lower depths and
acquire artifacts that have not been in mortal hands for ages.
Progress report.

We have discovered much in our treks through the Inferno but
we have yet to find a way to summon Dispader or Baal but we
may have found some new information on a lectern to help us
with the way. It will require further examination but the
fourteenth day when the moon reaches the sun and with it fades
out of sight is when the Lord of Heresy is said to have most
influence. The fourteenth day, being the day of the Moon.
We found, fought and destroyed Azazel the Viper of Baalzebub.
He was a powerful devil that wielded a sword named
'Lightslayer'. It is a two handed sword of remarkable quality
that will undoubtedly strengthen any deserving blade who can
wield it properly. I also acquired a Rod of Shadows that I am
unsure of it's properties just yet. I look forward to having a
conjurer examine it for me.
Our future expeditions will be to once again seek out and this
time best Belial in his domain and then to track down pitfiends
and see if our focused Imperial strength can overcome them. We
may make an attempt to topple Tiamat before going, I believe his
mail could aid some of our battles within the Inferno. It will be
difficult to plan an expedition to reach Baal's altar for for
the fourteenth day of a month. We may require further exploration
and study of the ritual before attempting such a ceremony.
We also made our first exploratory expedition to the courtyard
of the pitfiends where we hope soon to unlock whatever ancient
secrets they guard. These battles will be fiercely contested
and will require the very best soldiers the Empire can offer.
It has come to mind that it could potentially be dangerous to
release much of the information gathered from the Inferno...
if the wrong people were to discover some of these secrets it
could be disastrous for the Empire and the rest of the world.
It is something that Undemelm most certainly wishes to speak
with lady Ishuli about.
A breakthrough.
Added Sat Apr 22 22:01:53 2017 at level 51:
How many people can name a single pitfiend, let alone 9 of them?
Undemelm is pleased with his progress of exploring the courtyard
of the pitfiends, finding the Dukes Adramelech and Baalberith as
well as finding his way to Asmodeus himself in his throne room.
He's sure there is more to see but he did not have the opportunity
as the army of ice-devils patrolling the halls looking for him were
intent on limiting the thoroughness of his search. Undemelm saw
several new artifacts in his exploring that should be examined
further. The plan is to return in numbers and conquer the courtyard
and if possible, destroy the Dukes of Hell and their Overlord
Asmodeus.
Undemelm has also been searching for a conjurer who can cast contact
other planes for many, many, many years. At night, he has recurring
dreams of joining a conjurer guild and learning it himself. Maybe
someday he'll meet a conjurer who is willing to help him, no sign of
that person yet though.
The beat goes on.
Added Wed May 31 23:20:30 2017 at level 51:
Much has passed in Undemelm's life, Belial has been slain. The
pitfiends Akkabal, Ninauurm and Zulum-Kanaash have been killed.
He has discovered some powerful relics and learned a valuable
lesson that he will never forget. Some things can only be learned
the hard way. While Undemelm was examining a particular artifact
he suddenly realized he could not remember how to perform the
simplest of tasks. His thought and mind were still clear yet
he was unable to barely draw even a simple faerie fire. It was
a bitter shame for Undemelm as a dark-elf and a priest of
Ishuli.
Undemelm will not be stopped by the ill effects he may afflict
himself with, it's WHY he does what he does.. to know, to
understand and unleash these powers for the strength of the
Empire. His faith has kept him strong as he relearned what was
forgot.
This experience in particular, has led Undemelm to believe that
an Infernal Index of the artifacts found in the Inferno should be
created for the Eternal Library. It has multiple purposes that
serve the Witch. It will provide a glimpse into the Nine Circles
for those with a curious mind and hopefully from there ignite the
spark and drive them to seek out further knowledge of these
relics.
New information can be added to the Index, the descriptions of any
powerful relics must be kept vague as to foster a desire to
know more. The followers of Ishuli would hopefully become guardians
of the Index and contribute to it's v
able to contribute to and maintain.
As High Priest of the Empire. Undemelm feels it would be
irresponsible to release the affects of the items themselves
as they could potentially present a danger to the Empire itself
should they fall into the wrong hands.
There have been very little observable affects of the relics he
has retrieved, so Undemelm felt the Infernal Index would better
suit the Eternal Library than his original plan.
