Description

Before you is a lanky man of just over six feet tall. His sandy hair pokes out from under his hood. He has angular cheek bones indicating some elven heritage. His clothing is well crafted, made from leather and chain mail. He holds a walking staff, with other weapons strapped to his person. His body is covered in a forest colored cloak, with the tell tale bulge of a travel pack and water gourd seen. He surveys his surroundings, ready to meet any challenge.

Role

Two Paths.

Valkymer was born in Darsylon the grand Elvish kingdom to the north of Thera.
His Mother is an Elf, and his father was a Human emissary from the City of
Galadon.  Valkymer spent his childhood as any other Elf would.  Preliminary
studies in all manner of craft, He excelled and was an exemplary student. 
Achieving perfect grades in all disciplines he had to work that much harder
than his piers who learnt with usual elven ease.  Although he was treated
well, he seemed to not make lasting friends as a child would.  Having a much
longer lifespan to his Father, it was tough seeing him grow old and die even
before Valkymer was considered a man by his elven kin.  Valkymer enjoyed his
studies, finding that a focused mind with single purpose could achieve much. 
He studied the basics of Conjuration, Transmutation, Invocation.  Clerical
studies were also covered in his schooling, as were the martial arts of the
Warriors guild and wood craft with the Rangers guild.  Valkymer found his
studies as a Ranger most enjoyable.  When he came of age it was time for
himself and the other pupils to be chosen to join a Guild.  All the hopefuls
gathered in the Audience Hall to find out which Guild they would be allocated
to.  The Guild Masters were all seated to the end of the hall, with the
students stepping forward one by one to find out which Guild they were
allocated to.  Along both sides of the hall stood family and friends. As each
student stepped forward to find out which Guild they were to join, a Master
would stand up and offer them a place in their Guild.  The student can now
accept the apprenticeship, or decline and ask another Master if they can join
their Guild.  If the second master declines, then the student will not be
Guilded.  They would then take up life outside the Guilds as a craftsman or
merchant or what other life they chose.

Destiny

Valkymer stepped forward and awaited his destiny.
Gedrellan the Master of the Warriors guild stood up.
"Valkymer, I offer you a place in the Guild of  Warriors.  You have excelled
in all you have studied, your final results are flawless.  It is truly
impressive that you have achieved so much Valkymer, despite your 
disadvantage" 

Valkymer frowned.
"Could you clarify Master, to what disadvantage do you refer to?" he asked.

"Your Human Father" Replied Gedrellan.

Valkymer paused choosing his words carefully.
"I thank you for your consideration, but I must decline."
He then turned around and left the Hall, his mother hurrying to catch up.

Back in their home, His Mother consoled him.
"It is time for me to leave Mother and find my destiny.  I have tried to be
the best I can be but it has been proven that it will never be enough for
those that dwell here.  I will return from time to time to visit you, do not
despair for I feel that my life is just beginning and I will find my path
in the world."

The next day Valkymer left his home and headed south with his gourd full of
water, his pack full of waybread.  He traveled light for he did not need many
possessions.  A knife in its sheath, and a spear in hand.

For many weeks he traveled, wandering the lands, mainly keeping to himself,
wondering what path he should follow.  Eventually he wandered into the mighty
Grove.  The peace and tranquility called to him.  He decided that his destiny
was to be wild and free.  He spoke to the Ranger Master who was happy to
accept him as an apprentice.

Homecoming

Today I traveled home to Darsylon to visit my Mother and tell her of my life
now.
When I arrived in Darsylon I first stopped in at the Rangers Guild and
asked the Guild Master if he was available for training on the following day.
then headed to my Mothers home among the branches.  Over a cup of herbal
tea I recounted my life since leaving Darsylon.Telling her of my deciding
to join the Rangers guild and residing in the Holy Grove for some time.I
then explained my visions when touching the ancient stones and my subsequent
pledge to the Outlanders.  I continued describing the corruption I have seen
and the hope I now feel since becoming a Sentinal and joining the Refuge. I
gave her some insight into our goals by telling her what I have learned so
far from the other members of the Refuge.

Rayangha, an elder shifter speaks of dangerous enemies of the Refuge and what
to be wary of when fighting them, their unique abilities and strengths.

Icaeos, a cloud giant healer protects us with the blessings of Lord Ergush. 
He is writing down stories which the members of the Refuge divulge to him. 
Stories to inspire and teach.  I think this is a worthy cause as future
members can learn from the past achievements and struggles of us all.

Thanduil a young human ranger who I have seen.  They told me that the
Harbinger was asking of me.  Thanduil seems a friendly sort and I think a
Sentinel also.  I have yet to find out which Guild path they train in.

Outhyen Seashadow, Harbinger.  Has tought me much.  They have honed my
knowledge of the Outlander enemies.  Expressed the importance of traversing
the wilds and knowledge of all paths over mountains, through valleys  and
rivers.They explained how our enemies might come in force, and how our
diversity can be our advantage as we wage war and return Thar-eris. They also
explained how important it is to expect the worst that our enemies can do to
us and prepare to retreat and survive.  Be ready to help your fellow
Outlanders and guide them from harms way.

Mystrillania is a Wood-elf Ranger.  A swamp witch as she described.  Very
wise they seem.I asked them about fighting paladins as I had recently
fought a Dwarf Paladin.They said they dont usually attack Paladins as
they hunt the same enemies as we do and it is good for them to bring pain to
the enemies of Thar-eris.  They also stressed the importance of not losing
sight of the balance the Sentinels bring by teaching of our ideals and not
only hunting enemies like a Reaver.

All in all I had a great few days visiting my Mother however duty calls and I
head back to the wilds in search of those in need and those in need of
feeling the sharp blade of my axe.
