Description
A dwarf by the name of Vallathrall stands before you, reaching about five
feet tall. Though you have to stare closely to even realize his dwarven
heritage. It must be burns by the look of it, but his entire body looks to be
an old fiery wound. Not one strand of hair can be seen on his body, not even
a beard, and you imagine with all these gruesome scars it's not by choice.
His head is completely bald without a speck of shine from his rugged skin,
and his jade green eyes peek about curiously under his wrinkled brow... void
of any eyebrows. A large misshapen nose flares with his deep breaths above
his expressionless lips. They seem almost seared into his flesh in a position
of agony, shimmering with a tight pale pink hue that matches the rest of his
complexion. He looks to be garbed in whatever armor he can get his hands on,
but it certainly looks suitable for use on the front line suggesting his
possible position in the guild of warriors. The two axes crossed in an X on
his back only strengthen that notion. Peeking closer at this uncanny dwarf,

Role
Aspirations of the Young and Prideful

Dwarves have always been known for their pride in their blood, but even
moreso, their skills with the forge. It pleases no dwarven eyes more to
plunge the most epic of weapons into those waters as the steam rises acting
almost like a curtain readying to part with anticipation for the main event
at a play. When it calms, and unveils the sharpest, finest blade most men
have never had the luxury to see, a smith can only grin and imagine what path
that blade will take.

Vallathrall aspired to be one of these smiths, years and years under his
fathers tutelage within their travelling caravan led him to hone his skills
deeply. They certainly weren't your normal dwarven family, under his fathers
belief, if a dwarf secluded himself to be among only his kin... how could
Thera see how truly amazing they are at their craft? They could individually
shape any war they wished if they exposed their skills to everyone, and their
name would be known for it.
They lived comfortably, as any nobleman, or warrior wanting to be known as
the best... wanted none other than a famous Korsaaakian blade in their hand.
But this wasn't about money to Vallathrall's father, it was about honing and
crafting the most amazing blades in the lands until the first question anyone
ever asked was, "Oh my, did Gharatla Korsaaak forge that?".
After years, Vallathrall was almost as good as his father with the forge, and
certainly no slouch in combat either. They did mercenary jobs on the side to
stay connected to the blade and Vallathrall was loyal to his father, but deep
down, he felt empty. For as much as being known came to matter to him, what
good is a legend who's services had no true side? When a coin pouch can fly
across a table into his hands, who was going to die because of the
transaction? Then again, chosing sides was a difficult endeavor, but fate
always has a way of helping men choose where their hearts were meant to be.
Magical Dealings for Magical Works

Any young man who's pride allows them to feel at the pinnacle of success,
usually comes with a fall somewhere down the line, and Vallathralls' came
possibly as worst as anyone can face. Having ascended to equal skill of his
father, they shared the work and were always attempting to push their limits.
But a day came when Vallathrall was not only humbled, but nearly broken.
The sun was setting in Hamsah Mu'tazz after a hard days work. Vallathrall had
already done two jobs on the day, and was finishing up a third. It was just a
simple job for free, a beggar boy just wanted a sharper knife to help kill
rats in the city for food. But as the boy walked off smiling and swinging his
razorsharp knife, a dark knight approached the dwarf with a grin across his
face from the beginning.
"Just how truly good are the Korsaaak's, hmmm?" the figure grinned, flashing
a famous Humansunder screaming with souls in the dusks final glistens of
light. "Five hundred gold in your pocket if you make this the sharpest blade
any man has ever seen.... dwarf."
Vallathrall paused, they had never done such a thing in the past, but his
father was gone and certainly he shouldn't turn down such a lucrative
contract. "Oi! Ah ain't eva laid 'ands on onna them blessed blades, but tha
Korsaaak's can beh 'andlin anything yeh throwin' our way!" he shouted in
pride.
Vallathrall turned his back, and started stoking the flames to the hottest he
could get them as the dark knight approached from behind. The humansunder
clicked softly as the dark knight placed it gently on the anvil next to
him.... "Don't fail me, or I doubt you'll be forging much of anything else."
Fire Even Forges Men

The Humansunder hissed like steam coming from a tightly shut tea kettle in
the flames as Vallathrall readied it for the hammer and grindstone. He was
going to do the impossible and show the world even magic can be handled and
forged into a Korsaaakian weapon. He pulled it out of the fires and grinned,
everything was going well as he placed it on the anvil, wiping away beads of
sweat from his brow.
CLANG... CLANG.... CLANG.... The hammer rang, and the metal was shaping!
CLANG... CLANG... CL-SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSST!
SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH, MOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN,
SCREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!
Be could barely blink before screaching souls started expelling from the
weapon as he broke a hole into it. They flew about wildly before heading
straight for the blazing fire and taking it's form. He was engulfed in the
wild fireballs along with the dark knight next to the forge. He kicked wildly
as he instantly smelled his burning flesh and singed beard as he rolled on
the ground. Cries from Hamsah could be heard as citizens were attacked by the
flaming souls meant only for the pit of hell as he gasped for life, then
everything went black.

He awoke in a jail cell, unable to even move, and left for dead for his
actions that the Tribunal could only deem criminal. His respirations were
shallow, and he was unsure if he would even make it. Why was he such a fool!?
Something cool touched his burns as he heard a few mutters near his feet as
he laid supine on the jail cell floor. "Bloody 'ell, lookin' almost like 'e
wasn't goin' te' make it!" uttered another dwarf. Realizing Vallathrall was
awake, the village defender grinned at his handy work as they caught each
others gaze. "Oi there chap! Ah wasn't sure yeh were goin' te' be pullin'
through this one! Ah been tryin' te' get 'is blade fer years now, Ah figure
tha village should beh owin' yeh one."
Vallathrall was unable to even mutter a thank you as his eyes began to shut
from exhaustion. He sunk deep into a sleep filled with dreams of life and
valor fighting alongside his newfound friend.
Fate always has a way of placing those on the right path in life who know
they aren't where they should be. And fire always purifies in the most brazen
way.
Overview

-Vallathrall has gone from one of the most prideful young men in Thera. To a
completely broken and humble dwarf, knowing he must make right for his
foolishness. It was amplified in an even greater fashion when he learned
twenty one souls died in the city that day, his father being one of them. He
must vindicate himself and his family name.
-After many days with the village defender that saved his life. His escape
was aided and he was educated in the beliefs of the battleragers. And seeing
first hand how destructive magic is at the hands of men, he has sworn himself
to aspire to become one of them knowing that fate has finally led him to his
true purpose.
-Joining the guild of warriors, he's dedicated himself to focus only on his
battle prowess until at *least* the thirtieth title within their guild before
he even sets his sights on a forge again. But one day, Korsaaakian blades
would rise from the flames again in the purest of form, and this time, with a
true and single purpose.
-Trusting to this day in the power of the flame, he's aligned himself under
the sphere of fire. Knowing that as bad as he has it right now, without it's
ability to burn away the bad, he would be much worse off.
-There is no path for him, but to be a defender. The cloth that holds these
desires together until he breathes his last. The staunches have saved him,
and his staunches will save others. And perhaps, just perhaps, he will be
forgiven for the twenty souls that died at his hand in Hamsah. The dark
knight he needs no repentance for.
Time will tell if he has the resolve to fulfill the task at hand. But, he
steps forward with determination, for in his mind... nothing will stop him.
Solace in the Slaughter

Vallathrall looks down at the ground with pure pride gushing from within. The
corpse of Maldiker lays below him nearly cut clean in two at the waist, blood
soaking slowly into the rich soil of the Silverwood. "Oi! Tha fargin' git! Ah
bloody 'ate these Anti-paladins!" he screams into the forest. He may have
used too much force to get his hatred across, but the memories still burn in
his soul of his past transgressions and how he lost his father. Shuffling
through the wares the dark-elf once possessed, he finds a blade with that
terrible unholy blessing and scurries to Tahren for a moment of peace.
His disfigured face grins with pleasure as Tahren returns the stare. Almost
feeling like he has invoked a ceremony for himself, Vallathrall watches
Tahren shatter it inside of his forge like a professional, every soul and bit
of dark magic consumed. Chortling with pleasure Vallathrall yells into the
ruins of Ostalagiah "Ah bloody sware bah Thror's beard, Ahm goin' te' kill
alla yah bastards, an' protect every soul Ah can from yer greedy mitts!"
His eyes close peacefully as he sits down in his hut, his fist rests on his
forehead, and takes a deep breath. It seems like just yesterday he killed
his first mage and Arratok brought him in here as a child living in
condemnation. The heart of a *man* with pride in his craft has emerged from
within though, he thought it would take a lifetime to save over twenty souls
from death, but he's already saved well over that many and in addition
stitched many up with swift hands fast enough to see them stand victoriously
over their enemies. "It ain't evah bein' about numbahs again. Ah know yer
testin' meh Lord Thror, it was about mah 'eart bein' tested until Ah realized
this is who Ah am, who Ah was meant te' beh. Ain't evah somethin' te' walk
away from, Ahm enlightened and it's bein' mah duty. Ah lay down mah 'eart fer
this village te' the end. 'elp meh make yeh proud Lord." the final sentence
drifts into a whisper as the pleasurable screams of his enemies lullaby him
into rest.
Dragon Mysteries Unravel

Vallathrall runs next to Kurnauch as they exit the past before jumping
abashed at the loud crack of a firecracker falling out of sky. "Wha tha
fargin' 'ell was that brotha!?" he yells as they duck an assault from an
enormous red-gold dragon breathing fire at them. Clutching his axes he stands
up from the evasive dive he took and tries to swing at the tail end of the
dragon but misses as it roars and flies off. "That wasn't bein' bloody
natural!" he screams out as they regather theirselves. "Fargin remindin' meh
o' tha one in Evahmoon 'ollow, weh should go pay Gaeas Glimmerman a visit and
see if 'es knowin' anything.", Kurnauch nods in agreement as the make for
Gol'galath.
Giving no chance to run, the dwarven tandem run into the treasure room with
maces and axes swinging as Gaeas' guards fall down dead. Gaeas Glimmerman
cowers against the wall and winces as Vallathrall grabs him by the shoulder
and slams him into it showing he means business. "Yer goin' te' beh tellin'
meh what yer knowin' bout this dragon attackin' meh! Ah want ansahs!" the
infuriated dwarf screams. "Oh please! I promise! I don't know anything,
anything at all! Only the roars of a dragon off in the distance!" Gaeas
pleads. Kurnauch moves closer and brandishes his maces to look intimidating
but Gaeas won't say a word, finally having enough of it, Kurnauch knocks him
out with a swift blow from his hammer.
Nodding at each other, the dwarfs descend on Gaeas until his lifeless corpse
falls to the ground and is replaced with a red-gold dragon. Heated combat
surrounds them as the door slams shut and locks, but the dragon is no match
for the villagers. Knowing it was similar, but not the dragon that attacked
them, Vallathrall kneels down next to a girl and questions her about any
activity. She's so frightened that all she can mutter is "I saw it all!"
before she runs off for her mother and escapes the dwarfs.
Shaking his head at a loss for words, Vallathrall screams out to the citizens
of Evermoon Hollow for someone to come forth and speak, it's obvious they're
in fear of something. Looking at Kurnauch, they shrug and they're dismissed
by every citizen they question before heading back to the village.
"Ah got te' get te' tha bloody bottom o' this. Ahm in tha process o' savin'
lives. It's mah duteh, especially if magic bein' at tha bottom o' it." the
defender mutters as he walks towards his hut to contemplate.
