Role
Enlilth - Chances
Added Sat Mar 1 01:11:30 2008 at level 37:
Enlilth. Oh how he tempts me with so many offers, so many arguments,
so many desires, so many...I must truly do something about this
infuriating male. Yet, his powers are like those of the First,
but greater...and for that, I must win him over. He is a cunning
male however, and he would do well within the First's enclave.
He even understood about my special recipe from the steaks of
the cow Griv. A poison that would course through his veins, causing
untold agony...and he forces me to eat it. Quite paranoid. When I
think he is merely the Tyrant, he forces me to see another aspect
of him...I wonder what it is I feel...
Nonetheless, I will serve him as long as it benefits me. It seems
that I must serve him for a long time, for my progression within
the Imperial Ranks slows. I am still not used to the light in
the surface...it impedes the abilities I acquired within the
Underdark, that many years ago...
Yet, it will not be long until my eyes are accustomed to this
light cursed world, where my shadow will reach long, where my
reach will grasp even the brightest of essence, and where I will
command the Shadows. And then, the Empire, and the First will
regret, oh so very much.
But first, I must prove myself to Enlilth. The nerve of such
a despicable act...only in the uncivilized surface does it exist.
I will do such, for the revenge against the First. I have failed
him twice, once with the druid Careashiin and once with a male
Outlander. Never again..
Males!
Added Tue Feb 19 23:06:24 2008 at level 21:
Males...males...males...Everywhere! Oh, certainly, they have their
use, as breeders, as slaves, as servants, or on occasions, for
foreplay. Of course, they are nothing compared to a good dominant
torturer...males lack the grace, the finesse, and the stamina.
Then why is it in this light plagued world, where my beauty and
prowess is barely noticeable because of the other's blindness,
that males are allowed place of power, are allowed to roam freely
of their own will without any guidance? Even more so, they show such
insufferable arrogance, believing themselves worthy to speak back
to me...
Amidst my outrage, it proves an interesting challenge indeed. Perhaps
I grew bored of our society, with such ease in conquest, such
subservience towards me. I do enjoy breaking male spirits, and what
more is there than an uncivilized place where such is abundant?
There are even powerful beings, Gods on par with the Goddess Lloth,
may she be tortured forever for her support of the First, who I
favor. If only they were weaker, and within the Underdark...oh
how I would enjoy my time breaking them. Especially the one that
I found through rumors abundant. Silly uncivilized creatures and
their mouths...they do not even have signs to cover their secrets!
Enlilth is this God's name, a tyrant by all means, and he is quite
the impressive specimen indeed. Unlike that boastful Kostyan, who
demands I call him War Master, which means nothing to me for only
the Blade Master of a House has any bearing, this duergar is much
more than what I am used to. His kind are meant to be breeders of
powerful slave, but I believe this one to be more than that.
Shameful of me, but if I am to rule the Empire and bring their might
in front of Mother and Lloth, I must garnish power. And this God...
he is the one to supply such. To prove my worth, I will simply act
as myself when I enjoy the hunt - bring a seasoned loin of the cow
Griv before him, and the head of Leclaire.
A Second Chance

Vehldriss'expression froze in uncertainty as doubt clouded her mind.
The careful planning and the many alliances she forged were
crumbling before the First's influence. She had never imagined
that this was a plot, that the Goddess' name would be used in such
a vulgar method. Above all, she had thought she was past the
manipulations that trapped the entire city within the First's
schemes.
Her city was known for their brutality even amongst her kin. The
only slaves they had were those born and raised from forced
copulations. Raids brought back riches and still beating hearts
of the defenders. To leave a child within the reaches of the
dark was almost the norm in her society. Such was the only path
to hone one's instinct and skills. Her sisters, those raised in
the luxury of the city, were only pawns to the First's plans.
Her father, a skilled blademaster who has trained the entire
house guards, was merely a tool to be used and thrown away.
There was no pleasure nor any skills used in dispatching them.
Tools that have outlived their uses are to be dispensed into
something more useful, such as a warm vest. They may have been
trained within the city, yet their moves were sluggish, regimented,
to the trained eyes of one who constantly feasted off cavefishers.
It was by chance that she was captured by the mages of the Second
House during a patrol. Illiterate and nearly insane through her
time in the wild, gradually the sight, scent, and behavior of
her youth came back to her. Velhdriss became the Shadow Mistress
of the Second House, secretly assassinating her deigned targets
as she gathered influence amongst her society. It was not long
until even the powerful Matron Mother of the Second House was
her pawn. Yet, like any caught within the web of the dark-elven
society, this was not enough. Power and influence was what she
desired. Fulfilling a promise she held to her Mother added
finesse to her otherwise normal ambitions.
And here she was, before the one obstacle that stood in her way
to all she ever coveted. The one seemingly insurmountable
obstacle that caused her to doubt when she had none.
The tentacles of darkness, that so easily dispatched her
companions, threateningly grew closer to her. Unnatural spiders
skittered to her form, drawing a close to a chapter of existance
that is her life.
The First tapped her cheek with a finger as her eery eyes
turned inquisitive towards Velhdriss. A wicked smile emerged
on her face, which led to the halt of her minions.
"Perhaps I will let you live my daughter...this time. Another
promise we will make."
The normally collected assassin, shaking silently in fear,
nodded her head as a tiny "Yes Mother" emerged from her mouth.
"I have heard that there exists in the surface an Empire that
spans countless lands. The Goddess and I would be quite thrilled
if such Empire would to become...ours. Go to the surface and
do this daughter, and you will live."
A thought blazed through Vehldriss' mind, then several, until
they all interlinked as one.
'An Empire that she has not touched. My life that she has not
taken. Does she fear this Empire so? It may be, but with the
support of the Goddess, she will control this city. No, if
this Empire is as great as she surmises, then there are
certainly other

The monolith was still, the magic embedded in it continuously counting
the time, uncaring of the dark elves immersed in the chaos of battle.
Initially, one might have thought that it was a celebration, if the
battle was in the surface, for the graceful and flowing movements of
the drows were toned to perfection and somewhat reminiscent of an
Emperor's court. However, the fresh corpses on the ground, each with
a gurgle of blood from their mouth, demonstrated the lethality of
this dance.
Amidst the chaos, even darker than their brethren, several dark-elves
appeared and disappeared with only a single *THUD* of a fresh corpse
as a witness to their existance. This was where they flourished,
every curve and crevice of the city memorized, as they secretly and
silently weaved a path of corpses. As each moment passed, with only
the silence of the grave as their tribute, they inched closer to the
House of the First Matron Mother. The guards were but paper, their
weapons useless toys beyond those that even outmatched the skills of
their renown prowess. They were occupied with the "distraction" -
a wave of priests, mages, and warriors from the Second House. It was
a full scale invasion, a passage of power that spanned ages within
the dark-elven society, toward the First House.
*THUD* *THUD* *THUD*. The three guards at the entrance of the House,
as alert as they were, fell to the ground before they remembered to
breathe. Tne shadows gracefully glided over the bodies, their nearly
imperceptible presence leaving a brief space through the dust. The
front door of the House, embroidered with intricate designs praising
the Spider Goddess, loomed before them. There was no door handle -
only a concrete wall with small cracks that barely outlined it's
presence. One of the Shadows placed her long feminine hands before
the door and slowly traced a pattern along the carvings with great
precision. The door glowed briefly as it opened on it's own. The
shadows have reached the House.
Bypassing the heavily guarded corridors, weaving through the many
traps along the trail, and even taming the unnatural creatures set
as sentries, the chamber of the First Matron Mother was an easy and
unhindered path. A magnificent sight appeared before them - an
ancient dark elf sitting upon an altar. Wrinkles, unheard of in the
drow society, enveloped her face, complementing the white irises
within her eyes. She appeared tired, weary...and strangely
unperturbed before her would be assassins. In an old raspy voice,
quiet unlike those of her kin, the First whispered,
"Vehldriss Velg'larn...you have finally come."
The leader of the shadows carefully removed the scarf and mask
covering her face, the same face as the First, except much younger.
The heightened sense of emotion from the murders were evident on
her face, yet they were nothing compared to the loathing and greed
expressed through her voice.
"Yes Mother. As you have told me, when you abandoned me in the caves
so long ago."
The First smiled slightly as she rose from the altar. The shadows,
so skilled in their art and stoic in the face of an army, flinched
as various daggers emerged in their hands.
"And what did I tell you, my child?"
"To survive Mother."
