Description

You see before you a massive giant, stretching to nearly fourteen feet in length. His dark blue skin contrasts sharply with his long, white hair. His hair is matted and greasy, with eight braided strands along the left side of his face, each with a small raven skull tied in near the bottom. His face is hardened and tough, a veteran of many battles and a youth of harsh climates. His eyes are gray, and hold an intense passion, what might look like a burning anger in them. You spot tattoos on his thick neck, but have difficulty making them out. His shoulders are broad, and give way to a massive, muscular frame. Arms and legs akin to tree trunks seem to sprout from a boulder-like torso. His armor and weapons are mismatched, but have the care of a seasoned soldier. You also notice a raven that flaps around him, often perching on his shoulder, taking treats from his master.

Overview

Added Sat Dec 18 15:16:39 2010 at level 36:

- Born in Loch Terradian as Servius Valerius to a well respected priest of
Marcatis.  His forebearers had been priests for as far back as can be
remembered.

- Was noted at a young age that he did not posses the same traits of calm and
good judgement that is ancestors did.

- Beat the nephew of a noble viciously after said nephew put his hands on a
woman Servius had come to adore.  Shunned after the incident and fled the
Loch.  Vindicated many years later when the nephew was discovered as part of
a plot to allow fire giants to sack the Loch.

- Waylaid by thieves in the mountains on the way to Hillcrest.  Saved by a
veteran cloud giant.  Adopted and taught his ways.  The cloud giant may or
may not have been a battlerager.  Hated magic and taught the now renamed
Volundr, meaning brave in battle in the ancient tongue of the cloud giants,
to do the same.

- The old veteran also worshipped Jasthrean, and knew Volundr needed
religion, being a storm giant, so taught him some of Jasthrean's teachings.

- Gave him the last name Hrafanrekkr, meaning raven-warrior, because of
Volundr's affinity to the ravens, who were also sacred to the veteran's clan,
representing part of the cycle.  Volundr has had seven ravens to this point,
and ties their skulls into braids in his hair after they pass.

- Loyal to those who show him loyalty.  Sees magic as the true evil in the
world.  Will generally not hesitate to kill good mages, but if he racks up a
large number of goodie kills it should start to weigh on his soul, and should
drive him to darker places, him embracing anger and the crusade against magic
more and more.
